Oooops...now that is something that WOULD happen to me!

If you are looking for WHIMSY STAMPS new release blog hop and prize draw then you can find my post HERE.

Now this is a card I made in the end of March for Crissy Armstrong's DT - and, can you believe it, forgot to post it! This is just borderline embarrassing! lol Well, it IS embarrassing.. Anyways, the challenge is up for the reminder of April and it's Spring or Babies.
This cute baby dragon (awww) is a digital stamp called Hello World and isn't he just ADORABLE! I combined hims with Meadow Background to create a cute little setting. As to colouring - well, I was trying to be Dorcas with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirit and pretty much failed miserably, lol. She does the most delicious subtle Prismacolor sky and I had this idea of replicating it and of course got too carried away and yeah, you can see the result...
But the papers are from my treasured (and thus used pretty sparingly) Echo Park Little Boy collection. Love the clear patterns and delicious colours, who says boy papers need to be muted or muddy!!!
I might sneak back tomorrow and enter some challenges but now I'm going to post this card before I forget about it, lol

A very yellow/green card

Make It Colourful challenge is so very close to my heart - firstly, it's all about my favorite subject (meaning colouring with whatever medium I get my hands on) and secondly it's a really friendly, fun and amazingly talented bunch of crafters poor Zoe tries to keep under somewhat of a control, lol.

Anyways, this time it's all about blending greens and yellows. We don't care what images you use, as long as there is colouring on your project and you have followed the weeks theme.
Since the sponsor of our challenge is Crissy Armstrong with her fab digis I wanted to use one of her images ...unfortunately my puter kept crashing and I couldn't put the scene together so I was forced to use one of her rubber stamps for Whimsy Stamps, it's available HERE. The bench is from Make Crafty and you can find it HERE. Oh, and that cute border strip (which I managed to stick on wonky) is a real cool die from Whimsy as well.
I am listing most of my Copic colours below - just wanted to mention that if you are blending greens with yellows, thus creating an environment with sharp highlights, then BV25 makes a good shadow tone. Just my lil' tip of the day, lol

For papers I used OA scraps which worked for my colour scheme, distressed them heavily, then mixed Cadmium Yellow and White acrylic paint to buttery yellow and dry-brushed on edges (using a cheap sponge brush from my kids craft box...I am THAT caring of a mother...).

Oh, and that ornate shape behind the image is a laser cut chipboard from Make It Crafty (I'm obsessed with the stuff and bought several different sheets) coloured with the same acrylic mix.

Is it wrong to actually like your own card?

I am doing a little guest designer stint today at Digital Tuesdays (the theme is Baby it's Cold Outside) because Whimsy Stamps is this weeks sponsor and I wanted to play with Crissy's Leap Of Joy. It doesn't happen too often but I am really happy with the card I made!

Because I have seen Crissy's pre-coloured version of that image I was WAY too intimidated to approach it with my Copics so I used Prismacolor pencils on kraft card. Yes, I am obsessed, thanks for that knowing snigger! :p I got the legs a bit wrong but I like the way the face turned out.

The papers are from Whimsy as well, all dabbed with crackle paint on edges and glittery texture paint on poinsettias.

The snowflake is a die called Winter's Jewel, I just cut the one adorning the sentiment smaller. The sentiment itself is just computer-generated one.

The velvet brads are from Making Memories and the cute winter berries and dollar plant leaves I got from my wonderful friend Tara!

I'd like to enter these challenges:
Craft Your Passion - anything goes

Ooh La La Creations (2 weeks) - inspired by a christmas song
