Let it Snow!

Looks like we are finally going to get a bit of the white stuff this Friday into Saturday morning. I was really hoping we'd get a little snow this winter so I am really happy!

Thought I'd share a few photos of our house in progress. First is a photo of one of the end windows in my craft room, which is on the third floor attic space. You can faintly see the color I painted, which is a pale aqua mint green. It's only about a 7ft clearance and has can lights going down the center. I can't wait to get is all set up and organized.

These are the steps going up to my craft room, which will be carpeted and will have molding going up the sides. The stairs in the kitchen up to the master bedroom are directly below and they will look like this with no carpet and the top wood planks will be stained to match the flooring in the kitchen. I should get alot of exercise going up and down all the stairs!

Next is the sunroom off of the master bedroom, I painted it a light taupe color. I got a photo from each end so if you put the two together, you kind of get the picture what the room looks like, we have lots of light in there. I use the paint buckets and put boards across them, then lay 4-5 pieces of molding across and paint away, I feel like I haven't even made a dent! I only get one coat of paint on the molding with eac trip to the house as they need to cure overnight before I can put another coat of paint on. They got one piece of crown molding up, I still have a bunch to paint. I still have to paint most of the downstairs with color, which I'll get done in the next few weeks. (With the exception of the kitchen and dining area, I'll do those after we move in.)

And one last photo of our little dining area off of the kitchen, it's about a 10 x 10room, you can't see all of it in the photo as I cut part of it off. We are planning on adding a larger dining room and living room in the next few years and this will be turned into an entry way into the new living area but for now, it will be used for a small dining area. We will take the double window on the left (the partial window I cut off) out and that will be the entry way into the new area. You can barely see the wellhouse outside the window, which only has the foundation right now but will eventually get a roof with some small storage space. See all the molding on the floor and wall, more painting for me! I used to love to paint but I am slowly changing my mind on that! Oh and you can just see the bottom of the stairs on the left that go up to the master bedroom. They are only the temporary stairs as we have to paint the stairwell first before they can put the permanent stairs down.

Just a few crafty things, first is a card set with tags that I made using K & Company Blue Awning 3D stickers with Anna Griffin papers. I punched the butterflys with a velvet paper and added some adhesive pearls.

And one last card I made using a wood laser cut-out I got from Michaels. I painted it with a tiny paintbrush, then coated the entire cut-out with crystal fine glitter and added some rhinestones and adhesive pearls to the flowers. I cut a pink piece of paper and put it behind the lavender chipboard flower, then added some little clear beads to the center. The eyelet lace trim is from our local antique store, which is a huge two story building with lots and lots of wonderful findings! I have a favorite booth, which is filled to the brim with lace and trim, table cloths, doilies and all kinds of vintage goodies, I could spend all day in there!

I'll be back early next week, hopefully with photos of snow!

Thanks for stopping by!

I'm Back!

It is so good to have a computer again, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't crash again! Thankfully my computer guy was able to save most of everything. I've starting backing up things (mostly photos) onto CD's just in case.

It was so great to be able to visit my favorite blogs again, I really missed that the most. One of my New Year's resolutions was to be a better blogger, guess I didn't start out very well but now I can get back on track!

I've been hoarding this rub-on for quite some time and finally used it. I just love the quote and wasn't quite sure what to do with it. I found some older daisy paper in my stash and was so happy that it was light enough for the quote to show up. I coated the entire image with glitter and added some little flowers.

I made this card using Basic Grey papers and chipboard, a handmade crochet flower from my friend Jennifer in WA state, and a doilie. When my computer was down, I got my stash of doilies out and played around with tea and glimmer mist, I'll post a photo soon of what they look like.

I made some more of the bunny tags from last year, I just shabbied them up a bit.

And lastly, my latest Custom Crops project. You can find the directons and supplies used here.

Is anyone a LOST fan? Final season starts Feb. 2nd, I am so excited to watch it and find out what happens, I am a huge fan!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Just a Note...

My computer decided to crash on me last week so I have been unable to post anything. I am borrowing a neighbor's computer to check my email, send this post and put my Etsy store on vacation. I had to wait for a disk in the mail from the manufacturer which I received yesterday so I'm taking my hard drive to my computer guy today with the disk to see if it is salvageable. Keeping my fingers crossed that I haven't lost everything but preparing myself just in case I have. If it can't be saved then it looks like I'll be ordering a new computer, which could take a week or two to arrive so I might not be able to post for a few weeks, I'll know more this weekend when I get the news on my computer.

I can't wait to visit your blogs soon and see all your beautiful creations that you have made! I hope everyone is doing well.

I'll be back as soon as I can!

Happy New Year

Happy 2010! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season! Mine was quiet and low-key this year, with lots of good memories. Christmas Eve was spent at my sisters for homemade pizza, cheesecake and card games. We had a blast playing spoons, that has got to be one of the funnest games ever!

Just a few crafty things to share, the first is a set of tags I made using wood pieces that I covered with paper from Graphic 45 and Melissa Frances. The little felt birds are Maya road that I glittered and used an adhesive pearl for the eye. The rose is from the craft store from a small bunch of roses that I cut the flowers off. It was already pink but I wanted to shabby it up so I painted it a lighter pink and sprayed it with some glimmer mist.

I have been dying fabric and ribbon with coffee and tea for quite some time. I thought I would experiment with different types of teas to see if I could get pink ribbon. I used Cinnamon Apple tea which dyed it a regular tea color. I needed something that had a red fruit in it so I got some Cranberry Pomegranate green tea and I got the perfect color of pink, and, it smells so sweet! I think I'll make some pink eyelet lace next! I can't wait to use different teas to see what other colors I can get.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
