W jego wiosennej edycji moja praca "Grawitacja" zajęła pierwsze miejsce w kategorii "Mini quilt".
Tym razem do festiwalu zgłaszam swoją pracę "Planety 2", inspirowaną kosmosem, w kategorii "Modern".
Kasia zamówiła ten obraz w prezencie dla swojego męża na ich dziesiątą rocznicę ślubu.
I potem napisała mi tak: mąż od razu zaczął się w niego wpatrywać i mówi "hmmmm... dziesiąta rocznica.... nie widzę tu dziesiątki... te linie się nijak nie układają... ale widzę nieskończoność!!!"

It's the second time my works take part in the Blogger's Quilt Festival contest. The contest is organised by Amy Ellis on her blog Amys Creative Side.
In the previous edition, which was in the spring, my "Gravitation" took first place in the "Mini quilt" category.
This time "Planets nr 2", which is inspired by the cosmos, is among others in the "Modern" category.
Kasia ordered this work as a gift for her husband to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary. When she handed him the big package she wrote me an e-mail:
"My husband started to look at this quilt just as he got it. He said: »Hmm this is tenth anniversary... and I can't see any '10' here... these lines don't look like a ten... oh! But I see infinity!«".

A tak prezentuje się cała. Ma wymiary 150 x115 cm.

Uszyłam ją "techniką własną", którą bardzo dokładnie opisałam w poście z marca. Polega na naszywaniu kilku warstw tkaniny, a potem wycinaniu nożyczkami albo specjalnym nożem do techniki chenille, fragmentów tkanin. Odsłania się w ten sposób głębsze warstwy materiału w innych kolorach.
I quilted this work using self-invented technique, you can find the step-by-step instruction here. Long story short: you need to sew one layer of the fabrics on the other and then cut in the right places using the chenille knife. The layers which were below become visible after cutting.
