~~ Tag, you’re it ~~

Posted by Ania On Wednesday, May 16, 2012 2 lovely comments

tag1

Mkay pardon me for using this silly pun in the title.

But yeah, well. Here’s a tag for you – created w/Prima lushness. I love tags when done right, but unfortunately – despite its small size – I find these hard to create. But I’m getting there methinks…I was happy with how this one turned out, at least! Check out Primas tag installation. LOVE especially the tags from Karola – so so so…lovely! (eloquent, me, mmm..)

So.

Not much happening around here atm. I’m slowly working my way though the CHA-S stuff to be done for Maya Road. Have wrapped up all my obligations for Prima. Tried to get ahead on the new few deadlines for various DT’s, to pave the way for this:

 d3

Ahhh. Diablo. I think it must have been the very first *graphic* PC game I played in my youth. Hm. No wait. Heroes of Might and Magic was the first game I became addicted to, but Diablo was the first one where I could play with others. Oh, the countless hours w/Diablo – either played alone, or at private LAN-parties. Fun fun! Never really got into Diablo 2 (can anything really beat the original Diablo??), but now that Diablo 3 is here….. we’ll see…! :)

Also trying to finish editing the photos of my (not-so)recent trip to Oslo, but it goes ever oh-so-slowly…sigh…here’s some of them though…

_DSC0399

My oldest niece. Love her room – I think it’s fun to photograph peoples rooms. Hm. It’s a nice idea for a future photodocumentary maybe…

_DSC0406

My nephew! Loves!

_DSC0440

I got to visit grandma! It was one of the main reasons I went to Oslo for a quick weekend-trip. Love her so much, but don’t get to see her too often…sigh…

_DSC0485

Those blue eyes are another good reason…

_DSC0496

This trio..

_DSC0507

Trying to photograph them all together & nicely wasn’t easy by the way. Ack!

_DSC0532

Sis in front of her laptop (duh)

_DSC0371

And my sis & mom. Blurry and not a perfect photo, but I hold it dear nevertheless…

Right. The stupid boss in the game doesn’t wanna lie down and die nicely, and I’m tired of dying over and over again so I’m gonna go work on one of the CHA-projects in the meanwhile!!

And I’m supposed to bake a cake for tomorrows National Day and stuff, right!

See yas…

~~ It turned out she wanted more all along ~~

Posted by Ania On Thursday, June 17, 2010 3 lovely comments

When I saw this month’s challenge over at ScrappeHuset, I knew I just had to play along.

You see, the challenge was about being inspired by “Children and language” – and it’s a neverending inspiring theme – all from funny words the kids have been saying or pronouncing (“skrokostblanding”, “jeg har savnet deg” før noen har dratt i det hele tatt), or to me wanting the kids to speak properly (meaning, speaking “østlandsk” instead of “bergensk” :p), to my oldest wondering why there were only deaf people/people speaking in sign language in Oslo (my whole family is deaf, which means they get to meet a lot of deaf people every time we’re at home – and which gives them the impression there’s only deaf people in Oslo as opposed to where we live atm). Nevertheless (yes, I am listing the other options here so I won’t forget to scrap them too ;p). The thing I wanted to scrap the most was this.

huh

“Wha!?! Can YOU play StarCraft!?” my oldest asked me (in disbelief – can you believe the nerve?) a few weeks ago, when we installed the SC2 beta and I informed him that uh, the two accounts were for me and his dad, not his dad and him. I coldly replied with “Duh hello, I’ve been playing that game WAY before YOU were born – so there!” (I remember the anticipation when SC was going to be released, in ‘98 I believe). I guess he was too little to have remembered me playing SC broodwars – I am fairly sure he was born when it was around, hmm (guess I need to doublecheck. Lazy atm!).. :p He’s been going through our old games every once in a while, like Diablo2, SC and WC3.

Guess this is sorta cute in a nerdy way. I found it slightly amusing, at least :p

Materials used: Cardstock, Hambly transparencies & rub-ons, old, old Heidi Swapp letters (I LOVE these but the darn dry adhesive on these is ugh to remove :p), KaiserCraft bling and 3d gluedots.

Ps! 3ndypapir has gotten a new design-team-member! Big welcome to Maya Stenshagen to the team!! She’s an amazing card- and altered art-maker – a wonderful addition to 3ndypapir :)

Ps2! Cami - I´ll see if I can find the blogpost where I found the tutorial on how to create the flower you asked for. If I can´t find it I´ll do one of my own, but - it´s not really my idea so I´ll try refind the original post for you soon :)

~~ WOTLK and Aurora Polaris ~~

Posted by Ania On Thursday, November 13, 2008 3 lovely comments

WOTLK arrived yesterday.
The long awaited expansion to World of Warcraft.
We quit WoW like, in the spring or so. Tried Age of Conan and Warhammer Online some, didn't really catch our interest (although I must admit I enjoyed PVP way more in Warhammer than I do in WoW. I totally suck at PKing in wow :( ) Anyways. Came back to WoW a few weeks ago in preparation for Wrath Of the Lich King. And yesterday, the game arrived. Adrian was totally happy as seen on the piccies :p He got up at 6.30am this morning just to play the game before school. Heh. He thinks that death-knights are the coolest thing ever, since he gets to start one at level 55 and not 1, which makes this the highest toon he's played ever (apart from mine/my husbands characters). Oh yeah, he's happy about that for sure :p

And me? Well. It's kinda typically that the expansion launced last midnight now that I am leaving home for almost 2 weeks. Yay. Guess my husband's gotta level us up without me :p

Oh also, we kinda revieved Aurora Polaris, our guild from EverQuest. Mal even went ahead and registered aurora-polaris.com (some nitwit got aurorapolaris.com after we dropped that domain, grr) & made us a forum - if you by some tiny weeny chance were involved with AP or WAP in the good ole days - do drop by :) (Fat chance any of you guys are reading this blog but ey still a tiny chance I guess :p)

Right. Off to Oslo.
Concert tomorrow, visiting grandma on saturday and well, classes next week. YAY!
See ya around :)

BTW!!! OMG!!!! Dexter!!!!!!! Just learned from Danielle Thompson that the guy playing Dexter (Michael C Hall....swoon) is dating the girl playing Deb in real life...who's like, his sister in the show....OMG *faint* lol.
*cough*
Just. Had to share. *cough*

~~ Sorry ~~

I know I've been a sucky blogger this week so far and I'm sad about it (cause I really do enjoy blogging). But life's been quite busy lately in between the Warhammer-gaming, various deadlines & scrappy stuff to do and watching Entourage. So. A quick post from me, w/a little Bad Girls Oct-peek as I can't share the scrappy stuff atm.

  • Warhammer: Hm. Didn't like it at first, but kinda think it's okay now. Thought my class was dull (Disciple of Khaine) until I found out@level 10 that I could actually dualwield - yay (don't ask me how come I didn't find out about this sooner. I'm growing old maybe). Actually makes me feel like a ranja again (from EQ) which I think is pretty cool :)
  • LOVE my Oct Bad Girls kit!! Thanks to my awesome postoffice (spot the sarcasm) I didn't know my kit had actually arrived until yesterday, but cracked out two layouts that I really love in three hours! Nice!
  • Gotta wrap up the BG stuff tonight as I'll be gone for another surgery tomorrow and will be unreliable this weekend for tougher stuff than just watchin Entourage season 3 (ok Jeremy Piven is pure genious, SO PERFECT for this role, love the interaction w/him and his wife/mention of his wife, he so deserved that Emmy, yay), popping pills and sleepin (and feelin sorry for myself as usual).
  • I hate my postoffice/the postal system. Two boxes/shipments delayed lately due to missing notifications and a third one almost gone missing but finally on track now. Sniff. But I'm so dependent on them!
  • Did I say I love my Oct kit??????? :D :D :D
  • I've been feeling a bit stuck in the same "style" scrapwise lately. Don't get me wrong cause a lot of the scrappers whom I adore and admire is simply because they're so great when doing their own "signaturestyle", but I get a bit restless when I feel like this. Trying to shake this feeling off me.

~~ Bad Girls July Kit Creations++ ~~

Posted by Ania On Wednesday, July 02, 2008 8 lovely comments

Yay!

The July kit at Bad Girls, "Whimsical Wonderland" was such a dream to work with - totally loveloveloved these papers and gorgeous accessories!! More DT-layouts can be found here. Am so sorry for hardly having time to play with my scrapthings these days because well, I wanna scrap! More! But alas...vacation and summer and renovating and running out of ink in the darn printer and well, spending time with the hubby and the kids...and uh, watching Weeds when I have a moment for myself (Just finished season one, lovesit!!) and BSG with the hubby - we just finished s3.....=)

Spending time with my hubby also means playing Age of Conan - mmm...it took some levels for me to fancy that game, but it's quite enjoyable now that we're level 50+ (leveling is superFAST! I really haven't been playing this game a lot, yet I'm lvl51 atm). And extra enjoyable when we are able to play with long-time friends over the net (friends from our time in Everquest->World of Warcraft-> AoC) The game itself has a more EQ'ish feel over it rather than WoW, but it has a lot of WoW in the sense of quests being a big part of the xp-grind, at least for now....EQ was like, way more about the xp-grind than really questing despite the name..it's quite easy to level up doing quests which doesn't give you a real xp-grind-feel :P It'll be interesting to see what the game has to offer to keep holding on to our interests when we hit level 80, which's the maximum level in the game...

Well, nuff nerdtalk - here's some more promostuff galore!! :D

Luxe!! CHA stuff!! OMg!!!!! Darn!
Ok, Ive shown you the "It's time" peek already but I really really really adore it so I wanna show it again...it looks so great...and there's new stamps and new color-me-pages and a boy and a girl line for the CHA show....and that's not all!! Two of my most fave things from this release (beside the time line) have yet to be shown..yummines...am so looking forward to get to work with this!!

And then there's Bad Girls first Aniversary....the things the designteam has done and made for this anniversary is just a m a z i n g... I am in such a total awe of their talent and creativity and energy. So much candy to come on the message board this month, you really don't want to miss it!!

Photobucket

Have a nice week!! :)
We're crossing fingers for some nice weather over here ...it's sunny and warm today so far....hope we get to keep this..my camera is loaded and I'm ready for summerphotos...gotta run!!

PS! Did you see?? D700!!! Fx-sensor!!!! OhMyGod*drool*

~~ Sharing..my fave artist atm... ~~

So. My PC is up and running but experiencing some occasional problems..which should be troubleshooted & hopefully eliminated soon... the graphic-card (GeForce 8800GT) is performing okayish I guess, although it keeps getting pretty heated up when running Age of Conan...which is solved by upping the fans performance a bit higher than the manufactured 25% (Atm it's running okayish at 60%). Age of Conan...well...it's playable for sure, just reached level 20 and got out from the newb island ready to play in the "real world" ...we'll see how this goes :) In the two days I have played I have fallen in the water like four times and gotten stuck three times, once so stuck that even the /stuck command didn't work so I had to gate....my husband thinks it's an amazing feat of mine cause he's been playing this game for a few weeks already and just doesn't get how I do that :)

Anyways. I *think* the calibration of the monitor went well in the end (I am using Spyder2Express for calibrating), but as I still haven't gotten my PS over on this PC I can't tell for sure yet.. I miss editing!! Have so many piccies that awaits......

Ohwell. Such a boring post - sorry! It's just that I like to share whats on my mind and right now it's that ;P

So - I just discovered Jason Mraz - well, I saw him appearing on MAD tv a few years ago, noted that I liked his style but never checked him out closer kinda, but now I have and YAY I love him!! He has a new album out - "We sing, we dance, we steal things" and he's actually in Norway July 4th (In Oslo - BUMMER!!!!!!!). I love love love these songs of his; "Lucky" (beautiful sweet and mellow duet with Colibe Caillat), "I'm yours" (quirky and funky) and the old song "Wordplay" (even more quirky...upbeat..love the musicvid :D) (also, check out "Geek in Pink").

Below are some YouTube vids of the abovementioned songs :) Do check them out.....enjoy :)

~~ Scrappers Choice ~~

Posted by Ania On Friday, May 16, 2008 6 lovely comments

I love what they have done with the übertalented Vibeke Spigseth as their main (??) designer - at least I love the direction they seems to have taken with her aboard - Scrappedugnad was so lucky to be sponsed by Scrappers Choice this time - a Scandinavian provider of scrapbook-stuff - their spring papers are mostly themed papers - something I normally don't do but hot darn, these are b e a u t i f u l for reals! I lucked out and got the wedding papers - ahh the quality of this paper and its structure is to die for and it's so beautiful... perfect for the weddingphotos I shot last fall of my husbands cousin. I wanted to make this simple - let the paper and photos take the mainstage while accenting it with sewing & a splash of color from Prima.. oh, and I almost forgot the challenge itself - use stamps - blush - uhm, right - this cute lil stamp in the middle there is cute eh?? Design Linda Mortensen - love it and love it even more that I got to use it - it's too underused!!

Come join the challenge - use stamps ;) - and you can get the chance to win some of these yummy papers & embellies for yourself too!

In other words. Age of Conan is launcing tomorrow. We have preordered so I guess we're ready to play tomorrow. I haven't been playing any MMORPGS in a good while now - longest break ever since I started playing such games at 16. The last game I played was World of Warcraft, and we kinda quit it a few months ago - in the end I was just raiding and it just wasn't enough. I do miss the big games though, the excitement, the cooperations, the people - I guess the game itself just grew..old? I haven't been missing playing too much - so I wonder how it will be playing Age of Conan. Will I get back on track playing hardcore or will I keep on carrying a laidback approach as I have the last year or so? Hm. We'll see. I kinda like having time to scrap in the evenings, but I do miss playing and experiencing&doing things with my husband in the games. Oh. And I'm also looking for D&D miniature sets for my kiddo - he seem to have taken a keen interest in these small figures when my husband came home from a D&Dgame with some friends. He really got it quick and tried really hard to learn the diff stats and stuff - cool. The nerd generation is safe. Sooo to keep him happy I'm looking for D&D sets on ebay...he is reeeeeally giddy about getting new figures and daddy keeps telling him to tell mommy cause it's mommy who's doin ebay! Right! I'm not even sure what I am looking for or what's a good buy or whatever. Hrm. Feel free to help out if you know :p

Ps! Luxe has just gotten quite a few new collections into their store and are celebrating the new lines with giveaways..check it out :)

~~ April is.. ~~

Posted by Ania On Wednesday, April 02, 2008 1 lovely comments
April is Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Awareness is good. Can't believe shit actually happens to children every day and that even (stupid f.. dumbass) parents do stuff to their own children or ignore that stuff actually happens to them...ugh.. I feel so sad & so sick just thinking of some of the things that's been in the news lately (like, throwing your own child outta a bridge into a heavily trafficked autobahn??? W T F .. if you're depressed and really want to kill yourself and your children...do it in a HUMANE way...stupidass..or better yet...drop the children, just have a go at yourself duh argh..please?) ...but..well.. awareness....
*sigh* pardon the language but things like this just plainly pisses me off..so.. feel free to spread the word about Child Abuse Prevention Month...

Oh. It's now proved. Or something like that *rolls eyes*. No links between WoW and violence. Well duh.

It asked 292 people aged between 12 and 83 to play the World of Warcraft game while their levels of aggression were tested.

Ms Barnett said the results did not back up the popular theory that computer games made enthusiasts more volatile and frustrated.

Instead anger levels depended on each individual’s characteristics, with most participants feeling calm but tired.

“There were actually higher levels of relaxation before and after playing the game as opposed to experiencing anger. But this did very much depend on personality type. "

But this did very much depend on personality type.
D u h . It bears repeating.

~~ Cute :P ~~

Look at this cute cute cute face!! I love it when he wants me to take pictures of him and goes like this right before the picture is taken - raised eyebrows and a "surprised" expression. Right now he and Simen are playing WoW together - and it's so cute listening to their conversations. *gasps loudly* "Daddy daddy I got two on me!! And oh add that pig too daddy!!" "Where are you?" "I'm here..right here!! Daddy come!! They're on me!" "Just run to me" "But dad! They're still on me!" *chuckle* Kinda sweet. Am still on the lookout for a new car - going to sign some papers next week allowing us to purchase a new car. Most likely it'll be an Opel Astra or something like that - that's the most sensible...but I *so* want a Toyota Avensis or Opel Zafira....or Kia Carnival, they looked cool too. Jeje. Am also headed to the hospital next week - maybe...just maybe...they'll finally start on the surgeon...unless they feel like postponing it a 4th time. *rolls eyes* Anyways. Adding a layout I did by using a sketch. Kinda wrong succession if you look closer at the pictures, but that's what happens when you go ahead and print the pictures *then* finds out what sketch to use and it's all wrong and you're too lazy (or too cheap :p) to do a new print. Love how she started out bringing boxes and chairs to get to what she wanted pretty early - some months before these pictures were taken - but I think these are the best I got from that situation.

"jada jada pappa jeg er her..her..." hehe.

~~ Chicken ~~

Posted by Ania On Wednesday, January 17, 2007 5 lovely comments

Ahh..there. I just mailed my contribution to Scrappefeber. I chickened out. I had the choice between two layouts, and I didn't have the guts to send in this layout. I personally think it's kinda cool in a grungy way, but uh....maybe a bit too different...too..weird? I dunno. I sent a "cute and pwetty but somewhat dull" layout instead. The mainstream one. Ohwell. If I don't make the audition because people are sending in similar layouts so mine won't stand out I'll blame myself cause this woulda certainly made it - well..at least stood out...maybe.... (yeah right:P). Anyways. Notice the rubon-numbers on the photos? That'll do for "add an embellished rubons on a photo" from jan 24th, no? No, I haven't sneakpeeked (or well, I had to doublecheck it :p), but several of the 2p ladies are making layouts from "all over january" and thus I know a bit of what's ahead. Personally I'm more into looking at one new tip each day. It's more fun that way to me :D

Onwards to another issue; Seems like most of my spare time with Simen from now on will be focused on World of Warcraft, not part-time scrapping like before. The new expansion looks nice, and more important - there's finally a purpose, a point in playing - the quest to get to level 70. I'm not the pvp kinda gal - every time I die because some meanie hordes thinks it's fun to take out the priests first (ohwell, that's a good rule anyways..take out the healers :p) I tend to blame Simen cause he's supposed to like, protect me, and that makes the game no fun for little dead me :P
Anyways. I like playing with Simen. He's been kinda neglected lately because of the scrapping. It's nice finally actually playing together having fun doing stuff together. Soh! Just need to get in some scrapping now and then - so not gonna give up this wonderful hobby :)

Men!

Yay. The Burning Crusade releases tomorrow. Or well actually, midnight tonight - here's the countdown site (and the place where you can register your expansion). That's the expansion pack of the game World of Warcraft, if you weren't aware :p Our copies were mailed two days ago - so I *assume* it'll arrive sometime tomorrow. Yay. Looking forward for more xp grinding and leveling and new stuff. I think :p

Anyways. Week 2 of Emilys cardchallenge has arrived - yeah! Sure have been looking forward to that new challenge :D "What's powerful to you?" Hm. I guess that'd have to be love. The love I feel for my children, the love I have for my hubby (at times :P) and the love I hope he'll still have for me for years to come. The background is a collage of various distressed newspapers. I've elaborated on the word at the backside of the card. Not happy about the stamping, shoulda done a little more of that *before* the word was glued on the card - but ohwell...now I know :p

Uke to av Emily's kortstokk utfordring: "What is powerful to you?"

I'm close to speechless. Through the games (mmorpgs) we've been playing through the years we've been so lucky having friends from all over the world, many of them of the very nice and kind type. We've gotten tons of help, advices, sometimes small and (big and) cute gifts....quite recently a second wabbit from our swedish friends and now this...which arrived today.... Selina sent us this HUGE and HEAVY box all the way from Austria. Inside was a wooden box with three flasks of wine (one white and two red) and jelly/jam from his uncles winery/farm. How cool is that?!? And how can we possible open the wines to taste them cause it's such a wonderful gift I don't dare empty :D You guys are simply the best!! I'm really touched and pleasantly surprised :D Love you guys much! :) :) xoxo

~~ o.O First post! ~~

Posted by Ania On Wednesday, January 03, 2007 1 lovely comments

Well alright. As you can see I got so totally inspired by Ingunn (smultringunn) and her layout about her NY resolutions that I decided to make me my own too! I love the colors of the Carnival collection of Crate Paper - so bright, so hopeful, so cheery, so LOVELY! Regarding my resolutions: well, I got so inspired that I'm actually breaking one or two atm - being more nice with Simen (aka spending more time with him) and going to bed early. It's 2am and I just had to finish this one :p BUT - I'm keeping the promise to scrap more and shop less. Well. The first part at least. Scrap more to do shopping justice, right? I've finished three layouts today. One which was started yesterday (god it's so nice scrapping again! after like one and a half week of break or something like that), and two which was started and finished today. Yay. Can't say the two others were as nice as this once (which I actually like - there's even room for one or two more resolutions at top!), but at least I did scrap! Yay!

Anyways. Had a wonderful New Year - thanks to the many cool and nice people celebrating it with us, and thanks to Simens mom letting us slip away to celebrate this night with others without our children (we spent the dinner and evening with them tho ofcourse :) ). Here's some pictures taken with my cam, and I'm afraid more people have pictures aswell but I'm not gonna show them. The pictures aren't that interesting btw - only for those attending I guess. We spent the evening with 7 swedes, one austrian and 30-40 local people, most of them playing the same game as us - WoW. Such a great way to start off the year! I even spoke English pretty much all night. I'm so friggin amazed at myself. I think people understood me too :p

Right. In WoW there's a saying going atm: "Screenshot it or it didn't happen!" It's meant to be funny. And it is. Heh. Like when I'm given a snowball to throw on another partymember and then says it wasn't my idea, I got this from XX and he says "screenshot it or it didn't happen!" and I go .... :p (and once again I digress :p) However that's also something I've been feeling lately. Take a picture or it didn't happen. Or. Take a picture or forget it ever happened. I often find myself relying on looking through pictures to remember specific things. "What did we do in September?" "Hold on, I'll check (the pictures)." What about the little things happening that I didn't get to take pictures of? Oh, it's like they never happened..? Exaggerated ofcourse, but you catch my drift. I'm currently trying to sum up 2006 in short cues. And most of the cues kinda comes from these pictures I've taken. But really, it's not our whole life in these pictures. And naturally, these pictures are mostly "cute and happy" pictures (although I love taking pictures of the not so happy stuff aswell - but still, they're a minority in my folders). And it doesn't mean life is all "cute and happy". Is that what the children will remember when looking through the pictures (and my layouts)? It's just (mostly) a glossy version of their childhood. Things doesn't happen all the time. They get bored too. They cry too. They're inside just as much as they're outside in the summers. And so on and so on. I'm trying to balance that in my layouts. I think most do. But it's nice to get a reminder - to be aware of it too. Scrap the less fun/fortunate moments. Scrap life as it is. Hey. Don't diss the great and fun moments. They often make the nicest layouts too I think. But don't forget about the "normal" situations either. My guess is that they'll trigger a more familiar feeling. Maybe not now, but in a few years? I dunno. But I do think they're just as important as the highlights of our lives.

Now. Two Christmassy layouts. Nothing too fancy. I still like the simple style tho. Bohemia Christmas & Basic Grey christmaspapers btw. And my all-time-fave atm - Heidi Swapp chipboardalfa. I don't think I've made a layout without them lately! (Alright. 8 outta 10 layouts features the HS alfa tho :P)

Ps. Lady Venegance was a very nice movie. Pecuilar ofc, but so are most Asian movies I've seen - it's the difference in the culture I guess. I'm too used to US movies :p And oh, it's actually a Korean movie. Cool.

Ps2. How many layouts I've made in 2006? Geez. It's at least more than 100+. I may feel like counting after New Years :p But. It's not about quantity, but quality, right? But to get to the quality you gotta practice. A lot. Soh! :p

Anyways. Have a totally fab weekend! :) Christmas is coming sooon!!

Men.
