Gotta Love her smile (it is just like her mom's when she was little)It was weird to be in town for the 4th, usually we are in Utah celebrating in Manti or Provo. Which I have to say I really, really missed. I missed the parades with throwing candy, floats and little "miss county" pageant winners. I miss everyone out celebrating this wonderful holiday together. I miss being with family and the cool summer evenings as we watch fireworks and do sparklers. But alas, we were here and made the best of it and had fun time with friends.
We went to our ward Pancake Breakfast and had great food. There is something about pancakes from a grill. They were sooo good. The weather was nice in the morning and the girls loved running free in the parking lot!
Then we hung out and took naps that afternoon and Chris took about 3 trips to the grocery store. I baked for our neighborhood block party. Then we went to our neighborhood block party and had a fun time with our neighbors.
Of course, we then watched our local fireworks show at the high school stadium and then came back to our street and did sparklers and fireworks. Chris went a little nuts with fireworks and bought a lot. The kids loved them and Ella couldn't get enough. She loved the sparklers and the loud fireworks didn't phase here one bit. I had to hide the sparklers, so we could get some other things done instead of monitoring and keeping on eye on Ella go nuts with them.
This is my favorite holiday and I am grateful for what we celebrate... our freedoms and blessings of living in such a great country!
