Lollipop Leslie

I have been introuduced to a new digi artist called Mi Ran Jung who designs as Art By Miran. She has a blog with new challenges staring in March, an Etsy Store and a Facebook Group. There is a challenge on Facebook ‘Make it Girly’ and you can request this free image Lollipop Leslie. However if you do request it you must use it so please play fair.

The card blank is from Craftwork Cards and I cut the paper from a butterfly pad by Artoz to fir the shape. I have coloured the image in girly pinks and used some Baker’s Twin on a glue dot to make the lollipop. The image has been die cut using a Nestabilities die.

The sentiment is from Tlc Creations and I thought it was perfect to go with this image. I used a D-Lites die to cut it out and then used the outside edge of the die to draw a shape from scrap card to use as the matting frame. Finally I opened a pack of the most gorgeous crystal butterfly stickers I have had in my stash for over a year. Go me for actually using one instead of stroking it lovingly LOL

Materials Used in this Project are as follows:-
Card size – 6” Square
Digi Image – Lollipop Leslie from Art by Miran
Paper – Butterfly pad by Artoz
Digi Sentiment – Tlc Creations
Tools – Nestabilities Romantic Rectangles die, Spellbinders D-Lites Label 1, Promarkers & Flexmarkers
Embellishments – Crystal butterfly sticker, Baker’s Twine
Techniques – diecutting,

The Stamping Chef Guest DT

I am So Excited to announce that today I am a Guest Designer at The Stamping Chef in their Girly Girl challenge.

I have used this sweet image ‘So Excited’ and teamed it up with a fab sentiment from TLC Creations that suited the expression so well and I am known for saying OMG quite a bit….. I’m just too exciteable J

I used Promarkers and Flexmarkers to colour her up and cut it out using my precious fine tipped Fiskars scissors. I honestly would not enjoy fussy cutting as much without them. I have tried others and it just s not the same…..

I used a sketch from Hobbykutz for the layout and rotated it to fit my image. One of my most favourite colour schemes is pink and brown so I used papers from the First Edition ranges by Dovecraft. These are 2 different pads but I love that the colours are similar across them all so you can mix and match between pads very easily. The base layer has circles, some of which are glittered. The strip of chocolate has been punched with a Martha Stewart deep edge punch. I placed some bright pink underneath so the pattern showed through better.

The glittery paper has been die cut using a lovely Nestabilities set Romantic Rectangles and I have curled the edges up a little bit so it creates a pretty frame. The Image is mounted on 3d foam squares.

The TLC sentiment and mat has been doe cut using more Nesties and for a finishing touch I added an assortment made from 4 varying side flowers by Prima and a big twinkly gem centre.
I do hope you will check out The Stamping Chef. Tamara creates some wonderful images, some cute, and some sassy. There is a fortnightly challenge on the blog and on Facebook there is a group TSC Recipes where there is a weekly free image based challenge. There is loads going on and the people over there are lovely.

Thanks for having me as a Guest DT Ladies J

Daisy’s Image Inspirations

Over at

our challenges run fortnightly so on the off Wednesday the Designers will be creating with a specially selected digi from the Daisy Doodles Store.

The image we are working with today is Easter Egg and it is available from the store at the very special price of only $0.50

I have made an egg shaped card which has been paper pieced. I started with a lovely floral paper in soft pastel shades, enlarged the image and printed it out 8” high straight onto the patterned paper. The quality of the store images are really crisp and the lines are really smooth even when you increase the image to the larger sizes. I coloured the flowers in with a Promarker and it covered the floral paper perfectly.

I printed 3 layers of the ribbons onto plain white card and coloured them in with colours picked from the main paper. These have been layered with 3D foam. I added the egg to plain cardstock and cut around the shape with my trusty Fiskars scissors. They are small blades and cut right to the end of the tip and I would be lost without them J

The sentiment is a freebie from TLC Creations and I made a little tag and used one of my Queen & Co mini brads. Last but not least I used tons and tonnes of Stickles glitter glue and some Paperchase gems to bling it up. I loved working with this image and it has made a lovely fun card which I may have great difficulty giving away…….

I hope you will pop over to the blog to see the lovely creations on there and please remember that you have until Sunday night to get your entries in for our Colour Your World challenge.

I'll see you again next week with another lovely Daisy Doodles design.

Happy as a Bee on a Sunflower :)

Depression and low mood has completely kicked my arse this week so I have found myself wanting to create bright and happy things to try and snap myself out of it. I am so very, very tired and no matter how much sleep I have I can't seem to feel lively in any way. It is times like this I feel completely trapped and I am just so thankful for my cardmaking and my little craft room of joy.

It is week 3 of the progressive freebie challenge at Delightful Inspiration and Faith gave us a lovely row of flowers with a choice with and without the sentiment. I chose to go without and created a little scene with the flowers, a row of bees above them from Happileigh Scrappin' and a sentiment from TLC Creations. The image is coloured in with Promarkers in happy bright colours.

I used a sketch from Sketch & Stash for the layout and as my image is quite large I used an 8" scalloped edge card. The main paper is from a Dovecraft pad from the First Edition range. The other papers in oranges, yellow and brown are from a really old HOTP Citrus Cardmakers pack that I have from QVC, gotta be about 5 years old!!

I used a Fiskars punch on the yellow paper and added a chocolate suede ribbon on top with a Papermania ribbon bow and a red star gem centre. I added faux stitching to the edges of the orange strips to make them stand out better from the main background paper. The image is mounted onto 3d foam so it adds more dimension to it.

Around the edges of the card I have added loads of Craftwork Cards Candi. I had initially put all the flower patterned ones on there but it looked too much so changed it to a random colouring of one patterned one plain and I am a lot happier with how that looks.

Paul has just come home from work and said he loves my card :)

Sentiment - TLC Creations
