OSAAT #142 - Rick St Dennis Sponsor Image

There's a new challenge today at One Stitch At  A Time and this time it is

Anything Goes

We have a new sponsor this week Rick St Dennis and I have been very lucky to have been given the opportunity to work with one of his images.

This little guy is called Cuttin Down Trees and is available from Rick’s Etsy store. He is one of many designs available from this prolific artist. He has many different styles of images and a very talented EDT on his blog. Our very own Nataliya is on there and she has done some amazing cards with his designs. Pop on over to have a look and be prepared to drool.
The image has been coloured with Promarkers & Flexmarkers using reds and greens as the main colours. I used a scalloped edged template to cut it out and an inkpad to distress the edges.

This is a large card at 8” square which enabled me to use lots of pretty papers from the Dovecrafts Back to Basics Christmas pack. All papers have been distressed on the edges and I used a fine nib on my Promarker to add faux stitches to the patchwork effect layout.
The glittery ribbon is from Dovecrafts. I added a freebie sentiment from The Alley Way and used a Quickutz Cookie Cutter die to cut it out. The pretty flowers are from Prima. They are about 5 years old and I hoard them as they are so lovely. The layers are held together with a HOTP brad.

The top left of the card looked empty and I couldn’t find an embellishment that looked right. I didn’t want to add anything to clash with the flowers but it definitely needed something. Then what should pop through my door but a subscription copy of Papercraft Inspirations magazine and it has these wonderful wooden lazer cut shapes free with it. I thought this tree was perfect, the right colour and a nice light open design which didn’t overshadow the rest of it. Don’t you just love it when something like that happens?

I do hope you will pop over to OSAAT as some other members of the DT have made some fabulous projects using Rick’s designs.

Materials Used in this Project are as follows:-
Card Size – 8” Square
Sentiment – Freebie from The Alley Way
Paper –Back to Basics Christmas by Dovecraft
