This week it was my turn to choose an image for myself and teamie Choccie to use. I needed to make another wedding card so am using the cute image Wedding Bears by Reece’s Scrap Pieces. In the pack you get the image in colour for quick cards and black and white if you like to colour as I do. I used Promarkers and Flexmarkers to colour the image in, cut  it out and mounted onto 3d foam pads.

The base of the card is a sheet of patterned cardstock from Hunky Dory. It is the 1st time I have used their cardstock and I have to say I am impressed with how sturdy it is.  I have added some ‘ribbon’ which is actually a shoe lace from a pack of patterned ones in different lengths that came from the local pound shop some time ago. It is amazing what you can pick up from places that you can utilize in your crafting if you just look at it a different way.

The background paper is a wrapping paper which has holographic elements to it. I used a Crafter’s Companion die to cut it out, added some scrap cardstock on the back to strengthen it and mounted on foam squares for added dimension.

The ‘Just Married’ plaque is an embellishment I have had in my stash for at least 4 years. I’d had it so long that the sticky stuff on the back was no longer sticky (I am sure we all have embellishments that has happened to!) The top was looking a bit bare so I used my Martha Stewart Heart Lattice punch on a scrap of pink card and mounted it onto some really shiny silver paper (which looks white in the photo but I promise you it isn’t!)

It was Choccy’s turn to choose something for us to work with this week and she chose Ester the Easter Bunny from Reece’s Scrap Pieces. This fun kit has so many elements in it to play with, 10 papers, 3 coloured clip art and 3 digi stamps.
For the 1st time ever I have created a completely digital card. I use a programme called Xara which is a desk top publishing package. I have used it for many years and it is fabulous for the manipulation of digi images but you can also use it to create digital scrapbook pages and I thought I would have a play and make a digital card.

I created a base white layer and to this added my main backing paper. Then the bright pink side section. The main image has been layered onto another white square, just like matting and layering on a real card. The ‘ribbon’ of bunnies was created by cropping down the sheet which has a border of bunnies and stretching it slightly to fit. The eggs were added in the top corner and rotated slightly at an angle.

The digi sentiment is a freebie from Tracey at Brossart Addiction. She is very generous and has some lovely sentiments. When I popped it on the spotty paper one of the dots was right in the middle of the T and looked funny so I coloured it in and it looks much better. Don’t you just love how versatile digis are?

I am very pleased with my 1st attempt at a digi card. This pack has got so many items you can use and I hope I have inspired you to  ‘Use A Digi’

For this challenge I chose A Gift From Santa from Reece’s Scrap Pieces.
I coloured the image with Promarkers and Flexmarkers using browns for the bear and blues for the accessories. I love making Christmas cards using blue, white and silver as you can have so much fun with metallic and glitter. Can you tell I love making Christmas cards the best J

I added some googly eyes and matted the image onto a scrap of dark blue card. The card has been covered with my favourite snowflake paper which is actually a wrapping paper from Paperchase. It was a leftover piece from another project which was on my desk and waiting to be used up.
I have used this fabulous white and silver ribbon which came from Poundland. It is wired and quite wide. I have wrapped it round a piece of white scrap card to give it stability and stop the darker paper coming through the white ribbon.

The snowflakes are a mixture. The silver ones are fabric hologram ones from Ebay, about 3 years old and the white and silver is the last one off a sheet I had in a goody back from the NEC a good few years ago. I have hadded large blue gems from Paperchase to bling them up. The sentiment is from my stash.

I have been teamed up with Ali for the next few collaborations and I chose Lucy Goes Skateing by Reece’s Scrap Pieces for us to work with. Nothing like making a Christmas card when we’ve finally got some sunshine eh?

I coloured the image with Promarkers and Flexmarkers in shades of blue adding some grey for the books and Silver metallic Promarker for the blades.

All papers and card for matting are snippets. The snowflake paper is a wrapping paper from Paperchase and it is one of my fave Christmas papers. The blue glitter paper is from Craftime. I did try to punch it but my poor little Fiskars punch got so jammed I had to put it in the freezer to release it……

I finished off with a Kanban sentiment, Stickles glitter glue on the snowflake, some silver metal snowflakes and tiny blue gems.
