Over at Digistamps 4 Joy there is a
Monthly Progressive Freebie Challenge all about Christmas, my favourite type of
cad to make. I had this image Christmas
Paper from Margy Keiser for the March challenge as a reward for completing
February’s.
The digi
this month is a little unusual in that it is a sentiment panel rather than an
image. This however presented me with the perfect opportunity to use some
glittery plastic tree decorations that I bought last year. I knew they would
make a fabulous sentiment for a large card and they were only 99p for 6 so a
great bargain. They are very cost effective so you could make several of the
same design quite inexpensively.
I coloured
the sentiment panel with a grey Promarker originally intending to spray glitter
on it. I then found the perfect card for my base which is shades of blue with
metallic solver snowflakes on it. I matted this onto a silver mirrri card base
and added the sentiment panel. The decoration had hanging loops on it and
silver string but it was very easy to trim off with scissors. I then used my
new snowflake Die’sire die from Crafters Companion and added a big gem to the
centre.
I am
looking forward to taking part in the challenge next month and getting the
opportunity to build up my stash of Christmas cards. Thankyou DS4J for running
this progressive freebie challenge J
