Mandala by Daisy Doodles

This fabulous design is a mandala which Daisy Doodles gave us for the 4th round of challenges at the CDAC.

***************************************

I am so amazingly proud of this card because this is as clean and simple as any card I have ever made. It is my first one layer card and also my first entry into Less Is More. I’m a LIMette at last!! Nerver, ever thought that would happen

The image has been printed directky onto my cardstock along with a sentiment using a font in Xara and I added a heart from Artistic Whispers. I used a think black fineliner to highlight certain elements of the digi and then used some stickles glitter glue. I added a fine black ribbon along the folded edge and a black gem from Paperchase in the centre.

***************************************

If you took part in round 3 of the CDAC Progressive Challenge you will have received your fabulous images. Today is the last day to get your card in to get the next group of images. Having seen them I can tell you,you don’t want to miss out so head on over to the CDAC and be part of the fun.

Materials Used in this card are as follows:-

Card Size – A6

Daisy's Tableau Tuesday #11

This is my 3rd week as Guest Designer at

Every 2nd week we have Tableu Tuesday and that is a way for the designers to showcase some of the fabulous Digis available from the store.

I chose the image Snow In Love. If ever there was a snowman image to make your heart melt this is the one. If you want to own this loving pair you can pop over to Daisy’s Digi Doodles store and they can be yours for only $2

I have made a large card at 8” square. This will be a special Christmas card for a loving couple. The image has been coloured with Promarkers. I love blue and white for icy snowscenes like this so kept other colours to a minimum.

I used a sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday for the layout using lots of layers for the papers and matting. I used a punch from Martha Stewart and a ribbon layered together with gems and snowflake brads. The back layer of paper is heavily glittered and there are a lot of iridescent papers so I opted not to add any more glitter, although it was hard not to J

I hope you will pop over to the blog to see the lovely creations on there and please remember that you have another week to get your challenge entries in for our ‘Raise it Up’ embossing challenge.

I'll see you again next week with another lovely Daisy Doodles design.

Materials Used in this card are as follows:-
Card Size – 8” Square
Patterned Paper – DCWV & Imaginisce
Embellishments – Paperchase gems, DCWV ribbon, Papermania Brads
Tools - Scissors, Promarkers, Martha Stewart Punch
Techniques – punching,

Daisy Doodles #42 Raise It Up

OMG this is my 750th Post!! I can’t believe I have waffled that much but then I have been blogging since May 2007 J I don’t think I can remember life before blogs…..

Thankyou to all my lovely followers, I am truly honoured that you feel I have something worthy of looking at and reading, mwah Mwah MWAH big kisses to you all xxx

Anyhoo, enough of that kissy kisssy stuff.
I am delighted that this is my 2nd week as Guest Designer at

The challenge theme this week is Embossing and you have until Sunday 25th September 7pm EST to get your entries in. You can emboss using a heat gun, an embossing folder or even the traditional stencils and lightbox, just make sure you use a digi OK J

I chose the image Feelin’ Bad Freddy. Don’t you just want to give him a hug to make him feel better? If you want to own him you can pop over to Daisy’s Digi Doodles store and he can be yours for only $2

You can tell he is a man as he’s in bed feeling sorry for himself. If it was a woman teddy she’d have no chance to take a rest would she girls?

The patchwork style paper on the base has been embossed and on the criss crosses and inked to brink the design out better. I have also used brown cardstock by DCVW and cut a circle for behind Freddy’s bed which has been embossed with a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder and sanded with an emery board. The other brown strip has also been embossed with a Sizzix folder.

Freddy and his bed has been decoupaged with 4 layers and coloured with Promarkers. Following the sketch layout from Sketchbook Saturday I used a Nitwit collection of free papers from a magazine. I used a Martha Stewart punch, some scrummy ribbon and recycled a chipboard tag from a piece of ASDA clothing for the sentiment tag. I covered it with a scrap of blue card, distressed the edges and handwrote the sentiment.

I hope you like my card. I think it would have to cheer up the poorly recipient.

I'll see you again next week with another lovely Daisy's Digi Doodles design.

P.S…. Keep checking out the store for some fab new designs, Jules has been doodling and they are just blooming gorgeous J

Tableu Tuesday #10

Woohoo! I am really pleased to announce that I am a Guest Designer at Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges for the whole of September.

They have some gorgeous designs and it is fabulous to have the opportunity to design for them using these little beauties.

The challenge theme this week is Anything Goes and I chose the Doodle Bug set and in particular design #2 which has these groovy flowers. It is a fabulous value set as you get 3 different styled images of cars and 2 sentiments for only $3

I covered my pink base card with this pretty glittery flower paper from Smirk and coloured the digi with Promarkers to suit. I created 2 layers to the image, the back layer for the inside of the card and the wheels and the front layer being the rest of the bodywork. I added Stickles glitter glue to the flowers to make it look groovy baby (said in an Austin Powers voice of course!) As a finishing touch Crystal Effects has been applied to the windscreen and the lights to give them a glasslike appearance.

The magenta coloured mirri card has been run through an embossing folder by Crafts Too and I used an emery board to distress it and bring the white backing through. The flowers are an assortment of paper and fabric ones from my stash and I added a congratulations banner to make it suitable for a girlie passing her driving test.

I hope you like my colourful card and with such a popular theme for this week's challenge I am sure we will see lots of entries.

I'll see you again next week with another lovely Daisy Doodles design.

Bunny

This Easter card is made using a freebie image from Daisy Doodles. I have coloured it in with Promarkers and added a white fluffy tail with puff paint by Woodware. I haven't used it for ages and it still amazes me how much it puffs up with a heat gun. Small children are pleased by little things LOL

I used the sketch at Gem of a Challenge for the layout of the card and it measures a finished size of A5.

I have used one of my new Nestabilities sets to cut a mat out for the image with a paper by Basic Grey. I used a Marianne creatables die to cut the chick paper and a Fiskars punch on the Easter text paper. Both Easter papers are by Papermania, another half price bargain purchase from WH Smiths at Christmas.

I have added some Easter letter chipboard stickers from a pack I used on another Easter card. The little chick in the corners is from that too, isn't she sweet with her little pink ribbon :)

Last but not least I added some embroidered flowers which were one of the very 1st purchases I made in 2002 when I started cardmaking. They were on a lovely trim of assorted colours and I very carefully cut each flower and stored them, never to be used until now.
