Today is my
little Sister’s 40th Birthday and this is the card I made for her in
the style of a Cath Kidston bag that I know she likes.
I created a
shape that was roughly the same as this
bag and made it gusseted to it can stand up. I used Velcro as a fastener so
it could be opened to write a message inside. This is a side view
Both front
and back of the card have been covered in paper that was from my stash. I
threaded pearls onto a wire for a handle and hid the ends between ovals of
cardboard mounted inside and outside of the card. The closure has a heart brad
as decoration.
I created a
tag by recycling card from packaging for a Papermania embossing folder. It has
a lovely pink heart pattern on it and was white on the back. I used a tag die
which was a recent freebie with a papercrafting magazine. The heart ribbon was
a recent bargain purchase for only 50p for a 3 meter reel J Finally I added some peel offs for
the sentiment. She was not looking forward to turning 40 so I thought I would
be kind and leave the message on the inside to not advertise her advancing
years….. her husband however has decorated their home with 2 foot high balloons
and posted a picture on Facebook advertising her age for all the world to see!
