This week we are creating using the theme of Favourite Things. I used this gorgeous image of Winter Robin from IkeSart. My favourite things are pretty papers, flowers, twinkly things and Christmas so this little robin red breast was perfect. We are very lucky that we get robins visiting our garden quite regularly and they are very inquisitive little birds that come right up to me sometimes if I stay still. I love animals and nature and it is always a complete honour to see such things especially living in a big city. Sometimes you just need to stop for a while, stay still and watch all the wonderful things that happen around you.

My little robin is coloured with Promarkers and then cut out with an Oval Fiskars shape template. I then cut some matting layers from gold and green cardstock and added foam squares to lift off the paper.

The papers are from a magazine supplement that came free with a magazine. I really liked the shaped of the green patterned panel that was part of a multi patterned sheet so layered this on a plainer polka dot and grid pattern paper. The sentiment is from the same pack mounted onto green card and used a corner rounder punch to trim.

Finally I actually USED some of my favouritest Prima flowers that are twinkly fabric poinsettias with a holly leaf and an American Crafts gem brad to hold it all together.

I had coloured this fun image Busted by Stitchy Stamps in with Promarkers an Flexmarkers in traditional Christmas colours to match the paper pack I had chosen from Panda Bear Designs called Christmas Traditions. I had initially thought about doing an easel card but opted to make an octagonal shaped card as I have not made one of those before and thought the geometric shape would work with the checked paper and the striped. The striped paper was to go along the left hand side of the card but whilst playing with positioning decided it looked so much stronger the way I have placed it.

The image has been cut using a Nestabilities labels 25 die and I used a dry inkpad to distress the outside edges. The sentiment is a free digi from Bird’s Cards. I have used the dies from the new Petite Labels 1 D-Lites dies to cut the mat and sentiment and used the inside of the die to create a glittery red gel pen frame around the wording.

Finally I added some Prima glittery fabric poinsettia flowers secured with posh brads from American Crafts. Both these items have been coveted in my stash for a long time and I am proud of myself for actually using them J

I chose to work with the Well Wishes set. The image of the wishing well is perfect with little butterflies adorning it and it was fabulous to colour, a great opportunity to break out all those brown markers to colour the stones in.

I used a sketch from The House That Stamps Built for the layout. I covered the cardblank with papers in shades of browns to complement the image which has had it’s corners rounded with a punch and a ink pad has been used to distress the edges.

I used the sentiment from the pack and cut it into a banner shape, inked and mounted onto 3d foam.

For the circular element of the sketch I used 2 of my most coveted items in my stash. The embroidered flower is from a haberdashery trim which I have had for 7 or 8 years and the pearl centred brad is obviously just too pretty to actually use! I cut a circle of scrap card, inked the edges and then mounted onto 3d foam.

The Stamping Chef Guest DT All Boy

This is my second card as a Guest Designer at The Stamping Chef in their All Boy Challenge.

I have used this super cool image Graffiti Jack, I thought it would make a great boy’s birthday card.

I used Promarkers and Flexmarkers to colour it in and then cut the image out.
I tried to make a shaped card so the wall was on one layer in front of the sky but it was too heavy and wouldn’t stop open so I added the sky background to the card base. The paper is from an American Crafts pad Neapolitan. I got a 12’’ stack from TK Maxx for only £6.99, complete bargain but I am not sure why the sky is green?

The bottom layer of the card is an embossing folder. I used some Kraft Core cardstock from Tim Holtz and sanded it down. This whole section is mounted on 3d foam and then the image is popped up on another layer so it is very dimensional.

I do hope you will check out The Stamping Chef. Tamara creates some wonderful images, some cute, and some sassy. There is a fortnightly challenge on the blog and on Facebook there is a group TSC Recipes where there is a weekly free image Progressive Challenge. There is loads going on and the people over there are lovely.

Thanks for having me as a Guest DT Ladies J
