365 Cards Day 134

I love, love, love how this cards has turned out :)

Day 134 at 365 Cards and it's Sunday so it's Super Sketchy Sunday. Shortcuts are sponsoring the challenges this week and there are 7 chances to win, how cool is that? Gloria Stengel's card today is gorgeous and I wanted to do something with acetate too. This is only the 2nd acetate card I have made and I just love how it turned out.

There are 7 !! challenges included in this card, details are as follows :-
I cut the front off the card blank and added a piece of acetate to it. MM dotty card is added to the 'inside' of the card. I used a piece of brown for the inside of the triangle shape and on the outside is a piece of Craftworks Cards swirly paper from my friend Sarn (Thankyou xx) .All adhesive has been hidden inside the layers so the card is very neatly finished.

I cut a hole in the edge of the acetate to feed the ribbon through and this is anchored at the back of the Forever Friends stamped image. This has been coloured in using watercolour pencils and raised on 3d foam. I tied the bow separately and glued this on.

The flowers are also from Craftwork Cards. I scrunched the top one to add a bit of texture as it looked too plain just layered on top. The button is from Papermania and I tied a little pink waxed cord through it. The sentiment is a cardstock sticker by Doodlebug.

I like this card so much it is going to be very hard to part with it!

365 Cards Day 103, Stampin Chic, Spoonful of Sugar, Flutterby Wednesday & If The Shoe Fits

Now this is a bit more like me combining challenges into one card. I almost had withdrawal symptoms with only one challenge in my last post!

This card combines the following 5 challenges:-

The base card was cut to the correct size and I ran it through the swiss dots cuttlebug folder. I inked arounf the edges a little a it looked too stark. The green paper was a scrap in my offcuts box. The butterfly is from a sheet of paper in Clare Curd's Signature Range 'The Big One' by Papermania. I used the colours of blue, green & yellow from the colour challenge. The gems were added to the green paper in yellow to add a little more of that colour.

The stamped sentiment finishes the card off. I wasn't sure how well it would come out stamping on the embossed background but I think it's come out alright.

365 Cards, Spoonful of Sugar, Charisma, DCM & TPE

Isn't it great when you start off with an idea for a card and it just grows, and fulfils 4 challenges at the same time ??

This morning I was going through a box of embellishments and found an unopened packet of brown embellishments from Jolees. I put it to one side as I wanted to use the buttons to go with the latest sketch for challenge 54 at A Spoonful of Sugar.

Charisma Cardz has a new challenge today to use the colours brown and pink. An older challenge on 365 Cards for Day 90 was to use only 2 colours on your card (stamped images could be in black ink on white card) and then to top it all off Daring Card Makers has a challenge to use 5 of one item.

The bottom swirly paper is an offcut from a freebie magazine paper, the top pink one is from the Two Scoops pack by Basic Grey. The chocolate swirly paper is from Craftwork Cards and was a gift from my very good friend Sarn.

The stamped image is from Clare Curd's Signature Range by Papermania. I have coloured it in with Marvy Le Plume pens. It was matted ontoa scrap of chocolate brown cardstock. The sentiment is from Let's Make Cards. The ribbons and buttons were from the Jolees pack, the checked ones are fabric with a clear button on top and they were all threaded and had 3d foam already to go. I have an idea that I got them from a clearout on Ebay but can't for the life of me tell you how long I have had them. Isn't it great when you fall in love with old stash? :)

08/06 I have just entered this card in for The Pink Elephant colour challenge of Pink Brown & White. I hope it is allowed as I made it only a few days earlier. I've never backlinked a card before but as it is the EXACT colours and wasmade so recently I hope it will be allowed.

365 Day 69, Tamara 95, A Spoonful of Sugar 52 & Forum Challenge

This card was made using this weeks sketch # 95 over at Sketches! by Tamara. It combines the congratulations theme on our card making forum this week, a celebration theme at A Spoonful of Sugar (another new to me blog) and Day 69 at 365 Cards which was to make a card suitable for a graduation.

The little owl is an image that was sent to me by a forum buddie. There were lots of different owl images and die cuts and this one is a Pink Petticoat Image. He is coloured in with Marvy le Plume pens and layered onto a pice of card which has been embossed with a Cuttlebug folder.

The paper is a vellum which I have layered onto white card. I used an offcut and cut out 2 of the mortar boards and a diploma and decoupaged with 3D foam. A scrap of card was inked and rolled up with a small pice of thin ribbon tied around it to make a 3D diploma. The sentiment is a die cut from a Brenda Pinnick kit from QVC.

I've had a night off from the hospital tonight as Paul went up with his Dad so I had a few hours to myself (bliss....) We've got a heavy day tomorrow as Grandad has an appointment at another hospital tomorrow to see a Urologist about his prostate operation. His appointment is at 4.40pm but the hospital transport is taking him at 2pm - goodness knows why they are taking him that early... I'm sure they must arrange it with themselves so they get more car parking charges from you GRRRR we're hoping he will be given a date for his op tomorrow, here's keeping fingers crossed :)
