Mistletoe Kiss

May I present to you the card that I made for my hubby for Christmas using this gorgeous image Mistletoe Kiss from Delicious Doodles. This is the first Image I have coloured since July. Unfortunately late December lighting has meant that my photography skills were non too clever so you can’t really see the subtle shading on her skin. I coloured her with Promarkers and added a layer of black card underneath.

I used Glossy Accents on her eyes, lips, nails and the berries on the mistletoe. I used stickles glitter glue on the fur trim of her coat so it really sparkles.

The paper I used is from K & Co and the snowflake paper was a wonderful find in a gift shop. It is handmade wrapping paper which has so much glitter on the snowflakes. It is a lovely quality and far too nice to use as wrapping paper.

The sentiment is a freebie from Netty’s Cards coloured with Promarkers and mounted onto some black card. The ribbon is a bargain from one of the poundshops.

Materials Used in this Project are as follows:-
Card size – 8” Square
Paper –  K & Co and sparkly snowflake wrapping paper
Sentiment – Freebie from Netty’s Cards
Tools – Letraset Promarkers & Flexmarkers, 3d foam for mounting
Embellishments – Glitter glue, Glossy Accents, ribbon

Choccy chose an image today by another new designer BB Kakes called Flowerboy 1. I thought this would be the perfect image to make a Mother’s Day card for my Mother In Law. I am so organised this year I am scaring myself !! Where is the real Mandy and what have the fairy’s done with her?

Anyhoo, I love chocolate and blue as a colour scheme and thought as it was a little boy in the image it would work well throughout the card. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and Flexmarkers and cut the image out using an X Cute die.

I used as sketch from  Sketchy Challenges for the layout and selected textured card and papers from a DCWV drawer set that I had from QVC years ago. The card blank is a large 8” square and I used oodles of Craftwork Cards Candi along the scalloped edges. The circle sentiment is a fabulous freebie from Netty’s Cards mounted on 3d foam.

The selection of paper and felt flowers are all from a recent purchase from a Facebook Buddy.  She was having a clear out of loads and loads of flowers and I figured they could be my Valentines pressie, they will definitely last a lot longer than the real thing anyway J

From The Heart Cupcake Lineup

The digi pack this month from the Progressive Freebie Challenge at Delightful Inspiration {From The Heart} was perfectly timed for me to make a card for my Mother in Law’s 70th birthday. She is always on a diet and only this week has joined back up at Weight Watchers so the sentiment is very apt indeed. Also in a rare move for me I am so organised and have made this card early.

When Faith sent the emails out she said she might try a 3 x 3 grid of cupcakes and I thought that was a fab idea so had a play. I copied the cupcake lineup in my graphics program and flipped one of them so there would be a contrast in the colours. I also created a decoupage layer on some of the cupcakes and popped them up on 3d foam.

I coloured my image using Promarkers and Flexmarkers adding some brown and red stickles glitter glue and some glossy accents on the raised images and a red glittery gel pen on the tiny hearts. You can see the detail better in the image below.

I used pink and brown as my main colours as this is my fave colour scheme. I added red as an accent colour as it need to be there for the hearts of course J

The paper is a glittery design from the Sweet Owl First Editions paper pad, the brown cardstock is a textured one from DCWV. The circular sentiment is a fabulous freebie from Netty’s Cards popped up on 3d foam. The calorie free sentiment has been trimmed banner style and added to a scrap of red cardstock.

That’s another card made for the progressive freebie and I am looking forward to seeing what we can play with for the next month. Thankyou  Faith for running these challenges again, they are so much fun J

Materials Used in this card are as follows:-
Card Size – A5
Paper – Sweet Owl First Edition pad by Dovecraft, DCWV Cardstock

Last AIF DT Card

It's my last challenge as a DT member at AI Factory today although I may well be popping back as a Guest DT every now and again. The 6 months has gone so quickly and I have had the opportunity to work with some fabulous images and a very talented DT, some of whom are also going to pastures new.

There are going to be some changes to the blog and the site will be moving in September so in the meantime we are having a month long challenge for August and it's a real easy one so......

We were given a number of fabulous images to work with but in particular I chose this fabulous balloon image as this coming Sunday, as long as the weather holds outs I will have one of my lifelong wishes fulfilled to actually go up in a hot air balloon !!!! (can you imagine me running round soooo excited like a bloody big kid!!) My wonderful hubby surprised the hell out of me on my Birthday last September by handing me an envelope with 2 'flight' tickets in it for a Virgin balloon ride. Therefore, how could I not make this card? I shall be giving it to him to thank him for making one of my dreams come true.

This amazing image is available as a freebie in the store too so head on over if you want to float away with it too :)

For my card I used a scalloped edge card blank and put a mat of sky blue card onto it. The DP is from a Dovecraft First Edition pad called Up Up And Away and I loved the scrolly shapes in the background and though they looked a bit like clouds. I tore the edges of the cardstock (ooh the pain, I'm sure I heard it cry.....LOL) and used 2 different shades of ink to distress the edges.

The balloon image is have decoupaged to high heaven. There are four layers at it's thickest point and plenty of foam squares were used in the construction I can tell you. It is coloured with Promarkers and I thickened the ropes on the balloon with a pen to make it easier to cut out. I have purchased some of the fine nibs for the Promarkers and was able to draw a criss cross pattern on the basket, you would never be able to do that with the normal nibs. A fine nib also came in handy for the red stripe on the sentiment ticket which is a freebie from Netty's Cards.

I would just like to take this moment to thank Mia & Tammy over at AI Factory for giving me the opportunity to be on their DT and to wish my fellow teamies the best of luck with their future endeavours.

So peeps, get your cards into this latest month long challenge over at AI Factory and with such an easy theme I'm sure it will be very popular.

In the meantime, please, Please, PLEASE keep your fingers crossed for me that the weather is nice enough for my balloon flight to go ahead on Sunday morning. However, don't let it stop you crafting OK!!
