Hello!
We're back with CAS(E) This Sketch! The last two weeks have seen an AMAZING array of AWESOME cards and tags in the gallery! I don't know how we'll ever choose our winners. In the meantime, let's start the new challenge!
This week we're using a fabulous sketch by Donna. This sketch really appeals to me. It has a lovely balance. I decided to stay very close to the sketch and keep it super-simple. I used Mama Elephant Filigree Stamps for the doilies. The sentiment is wPlus9.
And now, I'm off to bed to catch some beauty sleep. While I sleep, those of you in other parts of the world can go visiting the rest of the team and get your cards started! I'll check in on you in the morning. ;-)

If you are here for my CASE Study card, scroll down a little further, or click HERE.
Hello!
Yes, it's another busy Thursday/Friday on my blog! I'm here with my contribution for CAS(E) This Sketch. :-) I made two cards this week. I could have made more. It's a great sketch!
First up is a card made using PTI Building Blocks dies and stamps. Clean. Simple. And I love all those blues!

For both my cards, I sort of forgot there was a bit of a gap on top of that pile of chevron rectangles... oops!
This second card makes use of my huge supply of black and white washi. I picked them up for my daughter at last year's craft show. That little "HI" sentiment is from Mama Elephant Filigree.
When my hubby looked at this card, he thought I'd made it for my daughter - the moustaches (which she loves), the bird cages, the music, the cameras (for Instagram). I might have to keep it to give to her one day. :-)
I hope you can find some time to join in the fun this week. I'll be looking for you in the gallery!

Wedding Congratulations
Hello!
I made another card for the Mama Elephant Challenge. The inspiration photo really made me think of weddings, so I made a wedding card.
I used Mama Elephant Flashy Letters, Nursery Deco, and Filigree stamps. The sentiment and lace are silver embossed. The striped background is PTI Hibiscus Burst paper overlayed with vellum. I added a few sequins and a pink stripe to finish it off.
While I had my ME supplies out, I made another card. This one really appeals to me. It's different to my usual style, more inky, more messy. But it still looks like my work, I think. :-)
I used Mama Elephant Party Kit stamps and Femme Frames die. Colours are Distress Ink Worn Lipstick and Walnut Stain, SU! Early Espresso, PTI Berry Sorbet. I sprayed the lot with gold Smooch spray.
Here we are getting back into the school year. The school swimming started today, and my 6 & 11 year olds discovered that they are in the pool at the same time (to their delight). They are in different parts of the school (Junior School and Middle School) so rarely see each other, so having a lesson in the same place at the same time is a nice change. This afternoon my big girl started back at her violin lessons, with her brand new (beautiful sounding) full-size violin. Tomorrow my little girl has her very first violin lesson. Exciting times!
Thanks for coming by to visit.

Wishing You Love
Hello!
Today I'm bringing you another love-themed card. I was pondering this month's Mama Elephant Challenge when I saw the new CASE Study challenge and my idea went POP! Because they are featuring Mama Elephant over at Simon Says Stamp this week, I'm joining in there too. I don't think that it is any secret that I am in love with everything Mama Elephant, so I couldn't resist. ;-)
The Mama Elephant inspiration was making me think lace and bling and I had my Filigree set out when I saw Donna's beautiful card on CASE Study. If you squint your eyes, my card could look like a direct copy. I just loved the whole card so much I couldn't move very far away, oops! I really love Donna's work, she's amazing!
I used Mama Elephant Filigree and So Breezy stamps. Sentiment is silver embossed. Ink is Memento Luxe Rose Bud.
Thank you for dropping by to see me!

Dynamic Duos #61
Hello!
It's time for this week's new colours at Dynamic Duos! Yippee! It's soft and subtle this week with Pink Pirouette and Sahara Sand. I was thinking babies and weddings, but in the end chose to make neither of these types of card. Sahara Sand was reminding me of doilies again, so I pulled out Mama Elephant's Filigree and this time I fussy cut my top doily to give the card a little more dimension. I also created a lace background in pink.
I used Mama Elephant Filigree stamps. Colours are SU! Pink Pirouette and Sahara Sand.
I know for a fact that the rest of the team have done wonders with this colour combination, and I'm sure they'd appreciate a visit. :-)
Thanks for coming by to visit me! I hope you join in the fun with us this week!

Dynamic Duos #59
Hello!
Dynamic Duos this week brings us the colour combination of Basic Grey and Your Choice of other colour. How cool! I had a hard time choosing which way to go. Front runner with grey for me is always yellow, so I wanted to challenge myself to something different. I thought about orange. I thought about green. I ended up at Poppy Parade. :-)
I used Mama Elephant Filigree stamps. The sentiment is from Uniko Studios. Inks are SU! Poppy Parade and Memento Grey Flannel. Rhinestones are SU!
I think everyone on the team chose a different colour this week. It makes for some gorgeous samples!

10 minute Filigree
Hello!
Continuing my love affair with Filigree, I made a card for 10 Minute Craft Dash #19. I added that little love heart from one of the other sentiments. I just stuck some washi over the bit I didn't want on the stamp, inked up, removed the washi, and stamped it where I wanted it. :-)
I used Mama Elephant Filigree stamps. Colours are SU! Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, and Pool Party. Twine is Caribbean by The Twinery.
I think this may be my fastest card EVER. How is it possible to make such a pretty card in 4 1/2 minutes? Only a couple of years ago, this card would have taken me at least an hour. I've come a little way over time. :-)
I am feeling like a bit of a hero, for the entire time I was trying to conceive and stamp this card, I had a five year old velcroed to my elbow (the one I was working with). It's amazing I lined ANY stamps up, let alone making a smudgeless card, LOL!
The colours for the 10 minute craft dash are
Thanks for coming to visit me! I have a busy few days ahead, so it may be a little while before I return with another card... but then, you never know when I might sneak to my craft table.

More Filigree
Hello!
I've been playing a little more with my new stamp set. This time I added a bit of sparkle in the way of Perfect Pearls and rhinestones.
I used Mama Elephant Filigree and So Breezy. Stamped in Versamark, PTI Hawaiian Shores, SU! Raspberry Ripple. White embossed sentiment. Card base is PTI Soft Stone. Ranger Perfect Pearls brushed across the doily.
The colour combination I took from The Play Date Cafe Challenge #185
It is so dreary today. We have a public holiday for the Queen's Birthday. We are inside, staying dry. Unfortunately I have quite a few loads of washing that are not drying.
Thanks for coming to visit!

Tuesday Trigger - All Sweetness and Light
Hello!
A new stamp set arrived in my house this past week. It has been very difficult to not sit down and play immediately. But I had to wait until today. The stamp set in question is Mama Elephant's Filigree. Oh my goodness, I'm in love! As I usually do with a new stamp set, I sat down and made a simple card to start with. I made this one in response to the Tuesday Trigger: All Sweetness and Light.
I used Mama Elephant Filigree stamps. Colours are SU! Daffodil Delight and Cameo Coral, and Memento Tuxedo Black.
This is the trigger image. I could just jump in there right now. What a pretty bed! There is so much going on in that photo for inspiration, but as I said, I was keeping it simple.
If I were you, I would expect to see a flurry of Filigree cards appearing on my blog. I will definitely be doing some more playing with this set. It's irresistible!
Today was a bit exciting. I spent the morning at the Brisbane Papercraft Expo with my friend Cassandra and our daughters. I was relatively restrained, although it took quite a bit of willpower to walk past a wall FULL of washi tape. Cassandra's daughter makes magic with distress inks, and so my eldest daughter was inspired. We have started with six inks (and lots of sponges), and she had a lesson with her friend right after the show. She came home a master and promptly gave me a lesson. :-) I forgot to photograph our work. I'll have to show you another day. It was amazing watching those colours blend as my daughter worked. I know, I'm VERY late to this trend.
While my daughter was having her inking lesson. I was sewing up a case for my Kindle. This one is a prototype, as I have other fabric in mind for the final version. I searched the internet for case tutorials, and found a few different patterns. The one I ended up using was THIS ONE. I still need to add buttons or velcro, but this is it almost done. I will say, I added extra seam allowance when measuring, because I added a batting layer and that added to the bulk of the seams. I also added an extra layer of fabric inside (as well as interfacing) to toughen it all up, because my pretty outer fabric is fine Japanese cotton lawn (super soft).
That's probably enough words and pictures for you today.
Thanks for visiting me! I hope I'll be back again soon with something else to show you.
