Hello!
CASE Study this month has Keisha Campbell as the muse. Keisha's cards are amazing, but they are in a style that I find a bit unattainable. Me being me, I can't resist a challenge. So I thought I'd give Keisha's style a go. I have a LONG way to go before I come anywhere near Keisha's style. With this card, I really just copied, not so much as following the muse as copying the muse... but at least I gave it a shot, and I'll try again, I'm sure!
My card is a mish-mash of stamps and dies. The feathers are Waltzing Mouse Fine Feathers, flowers are Jane's Doodles Pretty Peonies, zig zag is Hero Arts, the sentiment is Papertrey Ink Stylish Sentiments. The dies are Mama Elephant. I would love this card, if I hadn't accidentally stuck the feathers in slightly the wrong position (the glue stuck by accident while I was positioning, argh!). It's really different for me, but still reflects my style. This is one of the things I love about CASE Study, I get to stretch outside of my comfort zone. :-)
This is Keisha's beautiful original.
This morning my daughter attended her piano exam. She has decided to stop learning piano, even though she's very good at it, because she doesn't enjoy it. I'm sad. I'm hoping she goes back to it in the future. She will continue violin (which she loves) but, for now, the piano is to be sidelined. She's only 11, there's still time to return.
Now it is time for my beauty sleep. It's been a busy few weeks. Only a week and a half left of school, and I don't have the teacher gifts done yet, eek!
Thanks for visiting!

CASE Study #151 and ColourQ #199
Hello!
I had a non-stop day today. Mostly housework, which is not finished due to the huge need for a big spring clean! I also took my daughter to an eisteddfod where she played her violin beautifully. She always amazes me. I was always able to play my piano beautifully in the privacy of my home but would crumble during performance. My daughter can have us wondering if we should actually take her along to her performances, and blossoms as soon as her feet hit the stage. AMAZING.
Tonight I bring you a card for CASE Study #151 where Jocelyn Olson is the muse. Jocelyn makes the most amazing cards, and I couldn't resist playing along. While I used Jocelyn's awesome layout, I changed the colours and used the colour scheme from ColourQ #199.
I used Hero Arts Zig Zag background stamp, PTI Sentiment Signs, and PTI Ruby Rose. Colours are SU! Really Rust, Certainly Celery, Crumb Cake, and Hero Arts Soft Cantaloupe.
Now, I must go and get some sleep. More housework tomorrow, and I'm taking my little girl to her friend's birthday party.
Thanks for visiting me!

Retro Sketches #45
Hello!
I'm back to work today, so the cards will slow down considerably now. But the good news for me (and maybe for you, if you like seeing my cards) is that I have another couple of weeks off work when school returns for the new school year at the end of January. Yay! In between school runs and doing a spring clean on my house, I envisage several hours spent crafting. :-)
This is my card that I made for Retro Sketches this week.
I used PTI Sentiment Signs and Tag Sale #7 die. Card is PTI Basic White. Colours are SU! Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Real Red. Black ink is Memento Tuxedo Black. Twine is Twinery Maraschino.
This is the sketch for Retro Sketches #45.
Thanks for popping by!

CASE Study 96 and Colour Q 142
Hello,
I have made another bicycle card. I'm enjoying my Hero Arts Bicycle stamp and die set. Just as I love my Hero Arts Zig Zag. Oh, and those cute little Memory Box clouds. :-)
I have used Joy's Card which is featured on CASE Study #96 as my starting point. From this I decided to create a little scene. I'm wishing I had that plane (so cute!) and that impression plate (yum!). Joy always gives me cravings for new products, she's so creative with EVERYTHING she uses.
After deciding on my inspiration, I went looking for a colour combo, and found it at ColourQ.
Thanks for dropping by. I'm hoping to do a little more stamping over the week-end. I have been playing with those Strawberry stamps again... oh, they're just delightful!
See you soon!

Papertrey May Blog Hop Challenge
Hello!
I almost forgot to post my entry to the May Papertrey Ink Blog Hop! I think I've made it just in time. The card was made, I just forgot the post, silly me!
This was our inspiration:
I had a few more ideas than the one I created, but my limited crafting time in the past two weeks has seriously impacted my ability to make more than one card here and there (sob!). (This is where you chime in and say, "There, there, you poor dear." LOL!)
This is what I came up with.
I made another card the same, in a different colour, in fact, I might show it to you as well. When I made the green one, I wanted to add some bling, but its purpose was to be a bit more unisex, and the older men this was aimed at are not blingy types. So I made a second so I could add the bling! :-)
Both cards are constructed the same. I stamped PTI Rosie Posie, then masked and stamped the Hero Arts Zig Zag and added the Hero Arts Sentiment. I popped up the front panel to add some dimension to what is essentially a one-layer design. Card is PTI Basic White.
Thanks for stopping by!

Papertrey April Blog Hop Challenge
Hello!
I've organised myself enough to join the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop again this month, yippee! This is the lovely inspiration.
As soon as I saw this picture, I saw the fabric second from bottom. I have a pair of pyjamas in that fabric, and they're my favourite! :-) (You really wanted to know that, didn't you?) I would love to own this pile of fabric. I think I'd make a quilt out of it... I might need to give it to my girls, I'm not sure the hubby would want pink flowers in our bedroom, LOL!
Okay, so my mind went round and round with these types of thoughts, and when I sat down to make my card, I couldn't decide on just one fabric to use, I had to make a bunch of them, just like in the picture.
For this card, I used PTI Rosie Posie, Pretty Peonies, Background Basics: Circles, Think Big Favorites #13, and Hero Arts Zig Zag. Card base is PTI basic white. Blue card is SU! Pool Party. Ink is SU! Pretty In Pink, Cameo Coral, Poppy Parade, Bashful Blue, Pool Party, Certainly Celery, Old Olive. Ribbons are SU! Everyday Enchantment in Pool Party, Calypso Coral, and Lucky Limeade. Brad is Everyday Enchantments.
Wow! That's a lot for one little card!
I'll be back in the morning to link this up to the blog hop. Unfortunately the Blog Hop goes live around midnight for us here on the east coast of Australia. I plan to be well and truly asleep by then. :-)
Thanks for dropping by to visit. Leave me a comment and I will be back to visit you as soon as I can!

Runway Inspired #10
Hello!
I'm here to share with you a bright happy birthday card, created in response to Runway Inspired Challenge. RIC is up to Challenge 10... already!
This is the inspiration.
And this is my response.
I have had all sorts of fantasies involving gold ribbon ruffles, but the reality is that I don't own any gold ribbon, LOL! So I satisfied myself with silver and gold zig zags. I versamarked the zig zags onto the red card as well. I fussy cut those zig zags at the bottom of the red section. I don't know why I torture myself, I really don't like cutting out, but sometimes it is called for. :-) The card base is SU! Crumb Cake, the white is PTI white, the red is SU! Poppy Parade. The zig zags are done in silver and gold embossing powder. The sentiment is PTI Think Big Favorites #13. The zig zag is Hero Arts Zig Zag.
Thanks for stopping by.

For Your Inspiration #24 - Green!
Hello!
It's For Your Inspiration Challenge 24, and the inspiration photo this week has allowed me to totally go to town with GREEN. I really like green. :-)
This is the inspiration photo:
I love weeping willows.
This photo reminds me of the Avon River in Christchurch, New Zealand. Christchurch is one of the prettiest cities I've been to, and I have been saddened by the impact the earthquakes have had on such a beautiful city, especially its people.
Here is a picture I found to show you of the Avon, Christchurch.
Here is my card. The zig zag pattern reminded me of water flowing, and I wanted to add some leaves to reflect that beautiful willow just a little. And of course, I've used about four different greens in creating this card. I've added the bling for the sparkle of the water.
I used Hero Arts Zig Zag and Say It All, PTI Turning a New Leaf, PTI buttons, Stampin' Up Ribbon (certainly celery), SU! green inks (certainly celery, old olive, green galore, gable green) and Memento Tuxedo Black. The die is PTI Fillable Frames #10.
At this point I would like to welcome our newest Design Team members - Irena, Karen, and Sylvia - three wonderfully talented ladies. Why don't you pay them a visit along with the rest of the DT?
