Wedding Wishes

Hello!

While playing catch-up on the week-end on the cardmaking front, I made this card to kickstart my mojo. My inspiration came from Muse Card Challenge and Inspired By All The Little Things.
I used Stampin' Up! Rose Wonder, Hero Arts Envelope Pattern background, and PTI Background Basics: Circles stamps.
For my very last minute entry, following Anita's Muse inspriation, I stamped a black and white image, masked, and then added a pink background.
For Inspired by all the Little Things I took the wedding theme and the corner flowers, only mine is a giant single flower rather than the beautiful bouquet of the inspiration.

I'm hoping that I can get a few more cards made over the next couple of weeks to bring me back to schedule so that I can keep up with my regular posting again. ;-)

This week I'm off to Sydney for work for most of the week. Everyone cross your fingers for clear weather for me, at least in the evenings. I really want to head out to Vivid while I'm there to see the gorgeous lights.

Thanks for visiting!

CAS(E) This Sketch AND Fusion - it's a combined challenge!

Hello!

This week we have an exciting collaboration of CAS(E) This Sketch and Fusion challenges, and I am lucky enough to be on both design teams! The sketch and the inspiration photo both had me running for my craft corner. I saw gold and butterflies, and the sketch is awesome, so a Fusion of both was inevitable.
I used a plethora of product on this card. Hero Arts, Stampin' Up!, Altenew stamps. Lots of gold - ink and smooch spritz. And that fabulous textured patterned paper, Save The Date by Teresa Collins.
For those of you who regularly play with Fusion, we are only running the challenge for one week this week. It will close next Wednesday, 25th June, and then we will take a little one week  holiday before our next challenge. So this week-end will be your only week-end opportunity to join in the fun. I would hate you to miss out!

I can't wait to see how everyone interprets this inspiration! I hope to visit you all soon. :-)

Fusion #7

Hello!

It's time for a new batch of Fusion inspiration! This week I used both inspiration photo and sketch to come up with this card.
I used such a big selection of products, I'm not sure I can remember them all! Hero Arts Envelope Pattern Background and Collage Music Background stamps; PTI Teach & Inspire and Building Blocks. I also used PTI Dear Jane patterned paper. Card is SU! More Mustard and Soft Suede and PTI Vintage Cream. Inks are SU! Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, More Mustard.
This week the team have all been inspired in quite different ways, it's wonderful! If you haven't visited the others yet, here are the links to their blogs.

This week I've been in Canberra for work for a couple of days. My schedule was non-stop from when I landed to when I took off to return home. Crazy! I'm back in Canberra again next week, too. Another non-stop schedule. I miss my hubby and my kids when I travel (and my dog and the chooks). Work travel is definitely not glamourous or exciting. I much prefer to stay at home. :-)

Thank you for visiting! I hope to see you joining us at Fusion sometime very soon!

Dynamic Duos #68

Hello!

Phew! What a busy few weeks! I'm happy to report that we had an AMAZING long week-end away last week-end. I took lots of photos, and when I get a moment at home, I will sit down and put together a story (or two) on my other blog (Happy Snap Michelle). My kids took their first ski lessons, and managed to ski a few (slow) runs with us afterwards. I remembered how much I LOVE snow skiing!  This week-end we are at our nephew's wedding at Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast. A wonderful celebration in a beautiful location!

This week at Dynamic Duos, we get to work with Perfect Plum and another colour of our choice. I chose Primrose Petals.
I used PTI Round Repeats, Hero Arts Envelope Pattern background, and Avery Elle Modern Leaves stamps. Ink is SU! Perfect Plum and Primrose Petals. Card is SU! Perfect Plum and PTI Basic White.
While I had these colours out, I couldn't resist making another card. This time I added PTI Soft Stone to the mix. I'm loving these three colours together!
I used PTI Rosie Posie, Stylish Sentiments:Birthday stamps. Ink is SU! Perfect Plum, Primrose Petals, PTI Soft Stone, Memento Tuxedo Black. Card is PTI Soft Stone and Basic White.

My gorgeous team mates have created some fabulous cards this week again, too! I'm sure they'd love a visit!

Thanks for coming by!

Papertrey Ink February Blog Hop - Part II

Hello!

Good morning! This is my second card for the Papertrey Ink February Blog Hop where the theme is Marvelous Monograms. I have a limited selection of alphabets in my supplies. One set of dies and one set of stamps. I used the dies for my two cards, and promised myself I would buy more alphabets sometime VERY soon!
I used Lovely Layers and Think Big Favorites #13. The "F" is from Block Alpha Lowercase dies.

My friend loves purple and black. I hope she loves this card.

Thanks for coming to visit.

PDCC#170 and Papertrey Ink February Blog Hop

Hello!

Another weather update. I think I prayed too much for rain to break the unrelenting heat yesterday. It has been pouring down all day, and I think we've had more than 20cm (6-7 inches) of rain today (the pool is overflowing). The rain would have been beautiful if I didn't have to make my way through it to get to and from work!

Tonight I bring you a card for Papertrey Ink February Blog Hop, where we've been given the theme "Marvelous Monograms". I have actually made two cards, they are a matching pair, for friends who are celebrating their birthdays soon. They are husband and wife, and the cards are masculine and feminine of the same design. Tonight I'm putting up the BOY version, and then tomorrow I'll post the GIRL version when I link these up to the PTI Blog Hop (which goes live right in the middle of my beauty sleep). :-)
I used Lovely Layers and Think Big Favourites #13 stamps. The letter "A" is from the Block Alpha lowercase dies.

The colour scheme I took from The Play Date Cafe Challenge #170.
Thanks for coming by to visit! I'll be back in the morning with my second card. ;-)

Hearts and Smiles

Hello!

I am bringing you a couple of cards in this post. The first is this.
I used Hero Arts Envelope Pattern Background, and PTI Botanical Silhouettes sentiment. It's hard to see but I used the PTI Linen impression plate. Colours are Berry Sorbet & Real Red (mixed on the heart), Bashful Blue, Night of Navy. I forget the name and brand of the twine.

I made this card in response to Tuesday Trigger: Cross My Heart
and also Addicted to CAS Challenge #5
and I'm putting it into the A Passion For Papertrey challenge where the theme is Love Is In The Air.

My second card is my homework for Day 8 of Clean & Simple Card Making 2 where we received a video tutorial on plaid stamping from the super-amazing Laura Bassen.  This card was also going to be homework for Day 7 (since I'm running behind), but my one-layer card had a massive stamping error (the masking worked at the edges, but my mask leaked through and left some splotches on my lily-white card). I really need to get some masking paper!
Yesterday Jen Rzasa told us to not look too closely at her plaid stamping (go and take a look if you haven't already seen her awesome card). I think she really has nothing to worry about, mine is the one that you shouldn't look too closely at!  I used some older inks from my stash and it wouldn't lay down evenly, so I had to over-stamp several times (hence the leaking mask). The sentiment is made from SU! "sticky strip" that I die cut. I left the orange backing on it while I stamped, then took it off at the end and rubbed in the only glitter I own (which was not really opaque enough). It is a very glittery sentiment over a very bright plaid. I die cut a new card front and stuck it on top to cover the splotchy card front. Pretend it's one layer - that's what I intended, LOL!  Colours are all Stampin' Up! from the old Bold Brights collection.  By the way, I'm never die-cutting sticky strip sheets ever again, they don't cut through properly, argh! I had to hand cut half of those letters.

That's a lot of words! If you read them all, thank-you. I'm just having a whinge! Getting it all off my chest. I was up late last night trying to finish this card, and had such high hopes for it. I'll have to make another... when I get some masking paper. :-)

A Passion for Papertrey - Love You Forever

Hello!

I just whipped up a quick card this afternoon in response to the A Passion for Papertrey challenge which ends in a couple of hours. I couldn't resist using the inspiration because it is one of my favourite colour combinations.

Here is my card.
I used PTI Think Big Favourites #11, Postmarks, and Tiny Tags II. The patterned paper is Plain Jane. I also used Hero Arts Envelope Pattern background. Colours are PTI Basic White, SU! Real Red, Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake. Twine is Maraschino by The Twinery.

I really tried to make it more "full", but my CAS leanings won out again. :-)

This was the inspiration.
Thanks for coming by!

Wishing you all a very happy new year!

Shimmer, Shine, and Sparkle!

Hello!

This is my second card today.
It was a challenge to photograph, so here is the other angle.
I used PTI Happiest of Holidays, Hero Arts Envelope Pattern Background, and Hero Arts Collage Music Background. Colours are PTI Fresh Linen and SU! Soft Suede. I used Silver paper for the sentiment frame. There are pearls and rhinestones all over, and the card itself sparkles with glimmer mist (although you can't see that in the photos). That beautiful button is SU! The ribbon is from my stash.

This card is in response to three challenges.

Tuesday Trigger this week is: Shimmer and Shine. My silver frame is that tray, and I've added gold, silver, rhinestones, and pearls.
CASology is SPARKLE
and CASE Study #120 is this gorgeous card by Windy Robinson. I used the central die cut and the bow and the symmetrical layout.

Okay, now I'm off to do the ballet preparations!

Thanks for visiting.

Blue Birthday

Hello!

A couple of quick posts today. I have to get my little one to her ballet concert and am still yet to do hair and make-up or get myself ready, eek!

This card is my entry to CAS(E) This Sketch #8 and Play Date Cafe Challenge #160.
I used Jane's Doodles Pretty Peonies, and PTI Strawberry Sentiments, and Hero Arts Envelope Pattern Background stamp. Colours are SU! Not Quite Navy and Bashful Blue, and PTI Fresh Linen.

The sketch over at CAS(E) this sketch is this one.
And the colour scheme at The Play Date Cafe is this one.
Thanks for coming to visit!

Papertrey July Blog Hop Challenge - take 2

Hello!

Well, another idea took hold, so I'm back for a second go at the Papertrey July Blog Hop Challenge! I don't usually enter challenges twice, but I like this card better, so I thought I'd share. :-)
I used PTI stamps - Pretty Peonies (sentiment), Rosie Posie, Turning a New Leaf. I also used Hero Arts Envelope Pattern background stamp over the PTI Hexagon cover plate to add a bit of texture.  Colours are SU! Old Olive, Barely Banana, Daffodil Delight, Pretty In Pink, Cameo Coral.

Still using the beautiful inspiration, and the same colours as the last card, but as I said, I like this one better.
I'm also entering this one into Moxie Fab World's Hooked on Hexagon's Challenge.

Now, off to hang washing out, ferry my little girl to gymnastics and music lessons, and then to collect the big girl from school before coming home to collapse briefly before getting dinner underway. So glad I took some time to do some stamping this morning. It's good for my mental health. :-)

Thanks for dropping in!

I'm back!

Hello!

I finally got to sit down today with some of this week's challenges. I'm still intending to go back and play some more. This week I received some new PTI goodies and I also went to the Brisbane Papercraft Expo yesterday and picked up a few nice things there too. :-)

The card I have created today is for three challenges: CAS-ual Fridays, Jay Gee's Nook, and finally I have managed to enter over at A Blog Named Hero.

This is the card I created:
What I used: Hero Arts/Sizzix Bicycle stamps & die set, Hero Arts envelope pattern background stamp, a mix of patterned papers, Memory Box cloud dies. Ink colours are daffodil delight, tempting turquoise, and tuxedo black.

The inspiration from the challenges was:
Use polka dots
Use two or more colours from the A Blog Named Hero logo
 and
Jay Gee's Nook inspiration board

Back to the Papercraft Expo. Guess who I saw while I was there? (If you have visited my photo blog since yesterday you'll already know the answer.)  This guy:
Yes, that is Tim Holtz in the process of embedding a deep desire for alcohol inks into my brain. He's a lovely guy, and very inspiring. I was so glad to get the chance to stand right there next to him and listen as he talked through the creative process, awesome!

Thanks for dropping by. I'll try to get back later today with more cards.
