CAS(E) This Sketch 183

Hello!

Today's card for this week's new CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge is a simple butterfly with a grunge background.

Stamps used are Happy Little Stampers Butterfly Birthday, SU! Gorgeous Grunge, and Hero Arts sentiment.

The big news this week is that, after a couple of months of not laying, my chickens are giving me eggs again! We've had such unseasonably hot weather here for so long that all the chickens in Queensland went into a second hard moult - my chickens were almost naked and laying nothing! The good news is, the weather has been a bit cooler (although 29 degrees in mid-Winter last week-end was not cool!) and the chickens are happier. :-)  I'm happier too! 2 degrees celcius here this morning and I was smiling, smiling, smiling. :-)

CAS(E) This Sketch 149

Hello!

It's time for this week's CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge! My card this week is a grungy Christmas card. I'm not sure if grunge and Christmas go together, but I enjoyed making silver and gold grunge. :-)

I used SU! Cheerful Christmas and Gorgeous Grunge stamps.

This sketch is awesome and I had visions of watercolour relief images. As often happens with me and sketches, a gremlin gets in my brain and takes me in a completely different direction from where I started heading.

CAS(E) This Sketch 140

Hello!

Today I bring you "Grunge-y CAS" style for CAS(E) This Sketch 140. When I first saw the CTS sketch for this week, I immediately thought of washi tape. Then I was looking through my stamps and thought I'd attempt a CAS masuline creation using stamping only. This is what I came up with.

I used SU! Gorgeous Grunge stamps and the Rotary Alphabet stamp (a very cool and useful tool).

Not many words today. I'm a bit tired. I can report, though, that Spring has sprung with bright blue skies and beautiful mild temperatures. I love this time of year!

CAS(E) This Sketch 111

Hello!

Here in Brisbane, we're in the middle of some rather rainy weather. With Tropical Cyclone Marcia bearing down on the North Queensland coast overnight, the weather is certain to get worse before it gets better. My kids' school is on stand-by for closure. We have to check at 6am. I'm thinking school will go ahead, it's wet but it isn't too windy just yet (although that could change overnight). I'm wondering if the Lunar New Year celebrations this week-end will go ahead as planned. I'm not sure the dancing dragons like the rain too much! Fingers crossed we get a pause in the rain on Saturday night when I am out celebrating with the family. :-)

I'm here with my card for this week's CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge. I've managed to somehow mix the sketch elements up. They're still there, just in slightly different positions, lol! I think I got carried away colouring and splattering. ;-)

Looking at this card, I get a sense that I've seen it before. Have I accidentally copied someone's idea? If I have, let me know so that I can credit their influence on my subconscious! I did a search on Blended Bloom and Gorgeous Grunge stamps, but didn't find anything similar, so maybe it is just an odd case of deja vu. I'm loving that rich, luscious rose! It almost bursts off the card!

I can't wait to see what you all make with this sketch as inspiration! I'll look for you in the gallery. My internet service returned to normal today, so hopefully I can do some visiting. :-)
