Phew...the holidays are finally here! Been quite busy with work and some leisure+side incomes activities and of course the seasonal MLSB (sindrom Malas La Sia Blog) came to pay me a visit these three weeks...but I was mainly busy and hence the laziness...hehehe...
So, what have I been up to? A lot actually. One Sunday, my students and I finished up our classroom makeover. I bought them 16 litres of pink wall paint (and I totally forgot that the kain I bought for the curtains are blue!!) and tell the boys to paint while the girls lapik the desks. Child slavery...macam kan? hehehe...they enjoyed it so much that they wanted me to do this every Sunday. Alasan? "Teacher bulih pi tamu di pekan (Sook), kami hias kelas la..." said Lawrence. Awww...

Then the next weekend, I went back to Melalap (my mother's kampung) to visit my grandmother. I don't want my DSLR to waste and accumulate dust, so I decided to take several photos of the ruins of Melalap North Borneo Train Station.
The old green building on the right was the Melalap train station. You can google the history of North Borneo Railway and you can read a few "hints" or "mentions" about this station.
According to my grandma, the station has been there since she was a little girl, even before the Japanese Occupation. But then again, that's her version, I still have to do research on that particular information.
Part of the station's roof. Still standing strong.
One of the pillars...
The front of the station...macam mau rubuh suda...
Here's a glimpse of my grandma's house at Kg Sawang, Melalap...
And no trip to kampung is complete without the foot dip in the sungai :-)
Then, on the long weekend, hanging out with one of my girlfriends is a must :-)
End of blog post....
For now. :-)
