Try by Melissa Polinar

I have no idea on what to put in my blog since I have all the time now. So before I go AWOL due to busy work schedule, I would love to share a song that I fell in love at first listen.

I was introduced to Melissa Polinar by Dierdre. When I listened to her song "Meant To Be", I was instantly hooked by her voice, her guitar skills and definitely by the lyrics.

Here's Try by Melissa Polinar...

The Lyrics (in case you wanted to sing along :-) )
TRY
(polinar)

I.
There's something about you
the way you move, the way you look at me
There's something about the way you see things
its like a change of scenery
Everything about you, I just want more of

but don't get any closer
if this will last a little longer
There's a chance I'll find myself saying (there's)

Chorus:
nothing, nothing i can do
to keep my heart away from you
i can't help it
i can't tell you how much i try

...to get you off my mind
to help me move on and just live my life
I can't help it
I can't tell you how much I try

('cause) whenever you're near
its love that i fear

II.
i've been in this shell
and I can't tell if I'm living at all
I've been doing well on my own
but maybe its just me who I'm deceiving
Everything about me, leads right to you

oh, I want to get closer
but let me doubt a little longer
'till i turn it over and give in ('cause)

Bridge:
fear of falling so helplessly
fear of losing, losing control

My favourite Menggatal Ngau Chap.

Damn...i know it's Lent and all but i've been craving for this ngau chap for 2 weeks. The stall is at Sin Hin, Putatan (nearby Fuji car accesories). The price ranges from rm5 to rm9,quite okay isn't it? I love the combination of the sweetness of the beef meat and the rich taste of the broth. Mix it with extra hot chilli and WOOT! SADAP!! So,if you happen to be a ngau chap lover, stop by si Ah Sau punya stall. If ngau chap not your bowl of soup, try the fresh hot bun and chilled kopi O. Mimang sadap ;-)

Mi Familia.

February is Family month to me. Why so? I guess it's just that I have many family gatherings this month..hehe.
So, a week before Valentine's Day, my mum's side of the family organised a farewell party for my cousin, Becky. She's leaving for Australia to further her studies and, I'm going to miss her.

What I love about going back to kampung is that I can reminisce my childhood moments. I spend half of my childhood here in Tenom, under the care of my grandmother. I remember her piggybacking me over the tabasan when I was around 5 or 6 years old just because I geli with mud. As she piggybacks my fat body, she lost balance and both of us landed on the muddy paddy field floor. I can't help smiling over that memory.

My cousins and I used to bath at the river without permission and my grandmother would come searching and screaming our names. Kesian my nenek...she's been through a lot!

So, here are some pictures taken during the farewell party...
The road to kampung...

Upon arrival, the langsat trees were attacked...

Family meeting before lunchie...

Becky, Me, Nenek and Abigail :-)

Grandma and her daughters...

My Grandma, Kinsiu :-)
That's all..

Have a roaring Year of the Tiger!!

Lainah & Cletus : A Unifying Love Experience

This post is one week late. Been experiencing some problems with my broadband, hopefully it will settle soon.
I've told earlier in my earlier post that I'm going to be the photographer for my colleague's, Kak Lainah, engagement. I'm quite nervous with this post because this is my first time covering a colleague's engagement as the official photographer.
To tell you the truth, I am quite hesitant to share the pictures because it may not be "journalistic-wedding-material". But since Kak Lai had put her ultimate trust in my photographing skills, I have given my best shot (pun unintended) in providing her unforgettable shots during her engagement.
To be frank, I feel so humbled that Kak Lai would trust an amateur like me to document her special day. She hasn't seen the photos yet, so you CyntaSez readers need to give me honest comments about the pictures I've taken. *crossed fingers* Here are several shots out of 500 pictures taken that day….
Enjoy!!

The Invitation.
Kak Lai getting dolled up!

Food, glorious food!!

As the princess is fastening her shoes, the prince arrives and welcomed by ..er, receptionists?

Prayers and blessing for the couple…

Followed by the symbolic exchange of rings…

Presenting the newly engaged couple…Lainah and Cletus!

Let the merriment begin!!

Just a random picture of the cute little helpers (",)
Congratulations Lainah and Cletus!!

Night Out with the Boys.

"Jess mana ko? Si Christ bawa minum di Honey Sweet", Pian texted.

What impeccable timing. I totally need to loosen up after a blah-week. Reports after reports to write and type, updating the whole school's students data, letters, my stupid fight with Darcy, ...Frankly, I had never felt the urge to drink until last night.

So, at 6.00p.m we meet up with Christ and had an early dinner downstairs. It was my first time at Honey Sweet and I didn't know that the cafe is equivalent to Upperstar. After dinner, we went upstairs, and chose a seat by the deck. With the full moon as our company, I sipped Singapore Sling and drank beer with the boys.

Well, I don't encourage drinking but that night, I just really need something to drown my sorrows with..haha. As we drink, terbuka la segala cerita-cerita...from school related and work stuffs to relationship problems. We cracked stupid jokes and basically just hang out, enjoying the night.

What I learned from my night out is that sometimes, a girl need to balance her social circle with a few guy friends. Heck, I learned a lot of things about how men felt especially in relationships. They told me to patch up with Darcy, which I did later that night. I now understand that boys are more action-oriented. And that sometimes, "memujuk" is not their thing.

Once in a while, it's fun to be one of the boys.
