My stuffed nose.

I thought I could lay in a little longer in bed and wake up at 8am today.

But Mr.Sinus had this itch to drop me a visit.

I was awoken at 4.30a.m. by a dreadful, wheezing cough and followed by a blocked nose. Then the mucus all flowed freely, I could have looked like a slimy monster.

I've exhauted my tissue supplies.

Since hanging around in my cold room just worsen my condition, I woke up, washed my face, brushed my teeth and then make myself a hot mug of coffee. Might as well try to finish half of my workload that I have to bring back from school. I hope I won't be sneezing all the way through Kak Lai's engagement.

Me and my stuffy nose.

Friday Write Up

Phew...

Finally Friday's here. Although my favourite day has arrived, I have to accept the fact that I have tonnes and tonnes of work to do this Saturday. It has been a busy and stressful week, not just about work but personal related stuffs as well.

I had a fight with Mr. Darcy yesterday. I have a nickname for him and I called him that yesterday. Free2 sia kena marah. He's not my boyfriend by the way, just a boy who is my friend. I wondered why he is overly sensitive nowadays.

My compromise with my PK1 did not happen. I tried to reason but it fell on deaf ears. *Sigh* Don't blame me if things fall apart...I can be the jack of all trades, but a master of none. Macam mana tu?

Ah.

Biar those works and Mr. Darcy.

Tomorrow I'm Lainah's official photographer for her engagement. I'm so excited because this is my first engagement gig (I mean, I've taken engagements and wedding pictures before but they were all my family's and this is like, a client but not a client...okay, Cynta, stop rambling.) !

Surprise!

It was around 2.39p.m. when I saw this out-of-the-ordinary sighting. This was my second time witnessing this type of peculiarity as I drive along the long highway from school towards Keningau. Okay, I know I'm not supposed to take pictures while driving especially when driving along a highway of loggings..but I just couldn't help it.

Look at the car in front of me...what do you see?

From the boot of the car, you can see a boy in school uniform sitting cosily inside the boot. There were three boys inside. I pitied them for a minute when suddenly the boy on the left gave me an obscene sign! Celaka punya budak...nama saja sudah tingkatan...so I thought.

Ten minutes later, the car signalled to the left indicating that the driver is going to stop. I noticed that this car is a sort of "school van". I like to call it "school pirate" because it reminded me of "pirate cars" back where I used to teach.

Upon my surprise, as the children disembarked from the car, I saw that the boys were wearing navy blue trousers indicating that they are still in primary school! Kecik-kecik suda pandai kasi PAK YU sama orang??!! buduh!

But, buduh or not buduh, still they are just kids. Why can't the driver give them a decent seat inside? Are they carrying too many students? This shouldn't happen. What if they hit a logging truck or vice versa?

By the way, as the rainy season continues it flow, I'd like to show a picture of my school :

Macam di New Zealand kan kabus dia? :-)

Till then, never put your children inside a boot of a car. If you can't fit them all, buy an MPV.

Rainy days and Sleepy heads.

It's been raining continuously for two days now. As I lazily browsed through Facebook, I saw Fr.Fundes' status saying "Don't blame the rain if it complicates your life. God has a purpose for everything." How true! I realised that I have been complaining about the weather a lot! Alaaaa...panasnya!!! Ishhhhh...ujannnnnnn seja. Kuturlah kereta!!

Perhaps, it is a sign for me to just chill out indoors and think of interesting things to do at home, rather than complain that I could not go to retail theraphy at Wisma Merdeka and traffic jam..yadaaa yadaaaa....

I think I've found a solution to my boredom...

Wednesday is full of Whore.

Crappiest day of 2010...so far.

First, my trip to Bali has been postponed. I've been looking forward to this trip for ages! Mum told me it was postponed because the agent said it was "not a good time". Abis tu why promote the trip for March if you knew there would be a freakin' festival going on? No offense to my Balinese friends but I'm totally pissed off with this news.

Second, some "nice" person bad-mouthed us newbies...I don't know what he or she said about me and my new friends but hey, we didn't finish up your salary right? Barely a forthnight here and someone is spreading bad juju about us. What a crap!

Third, I called up my former school's clerk to ask about my salary. She said my salary might have a high probability to "stop" in March. What am I going to eat then? How am I going to pay the bills? She said she can do the LPC by this month but due to some "technicalities" that I couldn't understand, the accountant did not want to accept that LPC for now until early March. I'm stressed up.

Fourth, I feel so lonely.

Fifth, I need a pick-me-up...A.S.A.P.

I hope Thursday is better.

Tulis Karangan Ringkas tentang hari kegemaran kamu.

Saya suka hari lima.

I like Friday.

Saya suka hari lima kerana besok hari enam.

I like Friday because tomorrow is Saturday.

Pada hari enam, saya tidak payah bangun jam 4.45 pagi.
On Saturday, I don't have to wake up at 4.45 in the morning.

Saya suka hari lima kerana boleh balik awal dari sekolah.
I like Fridays because I can go home early from school.

Tapi pada hari lima, loging tidak banyak di jalanraya tetapi trefik jem kesesakan lalulintas di trefik light lampu trafik yang mahu ke Keningau.
But on Friday, there were not a lot of lorries but there was a massive jam at the traffic light towards Keningau.

Tapi tidak apa, sebab saya suka juga hari lima.
But it's okay, because I love Fridays.

Sebab selepas hari lima saya tidak payah pergi ke sekolah.
Because after Friday, I don't have to go to school.

Mama saya suruh saya pulang ke rumah selepas bermain.

Saya harap hari-hari hari lima.
I wished everyday is Friday.

Nah, inilah gambar sekolah baru saya.
Here is the picture of my new school.

Ini pula gambar jalanraya ke sekolah saya.
This is the road heading towards my school.

Apabila tiba di rumah, saya ada menerima sekeping kad Krismas.
When I arrived at home, I received a Christmas card.

Ohhhh...kad ini daripada Dierdre. Terima kasih, Dierdre. Inilah kenapa saya suka hari lima. Ada kejutan. hehehe...

Ohhhh....the card is from Dierdre. Thanks, Dierdre. This is why I like Friday. There are surprises.
hehehe...

Sekianlah karangan saya. Saya harap kawan-kawan juga suka hari lima seperti saya. Horey!
That's all. I hope you like Fridays like me too. Woot!

Have a great weekend everyone!

3 Kreatif.

3 Kreatif is my new baby.

There are 33 students in that class and this time, I don't have a major problem in remembering faces and names because their names are unique and easier to relate to their faces. The first time I entered their class, they looked so curious. They intently stare at my face that I thought I had kangkung stuck between my teeth. I started off with a dogo-ish joke...thank God they get it! That stopped the intense starings. Hey, I just realised that back at LD being a natural dogo invites mocking laughter from the students but not here! Wow!

So, this morning I had a pleasant surprise from 3 Kreatif.

As I walked the corridor heading towards their class at Block C, I noticed several girls stood on their chairs and cleaning the windows.

I didn't tell them to wipe the windows clean.

I just told them yesterday that "tingu la kalau bisuk kita senang...kita lap tingkap kah...cuci lantai kah...apa-apa ja lah asal kelas kita bersih..."

I was being sarcastic...in a good way.

The boys were also cleaning their side of the windows. Some where seen sitting around but clearly because they were waiting for the cloth...perhaps to clean their side of the windows I presumed? I don't know...a sight like this is not common. It's so rare that I think I should go and buy a lottery ticket.

When they saw me, they went back quickly to their seats. The assistant class monitor signalled the others to get down from their chairs and put away the cloths. I walked into the class, as stoic as I can ever be.

"Siapa suruh kamu lap jendela?" I asked.

One brave soul answered, "Kami sendiri, teacher".

Somebody pinch me, I thought to myself.

"Iya? Bukan ada cigu lain suruh?" I asked again. Everyone shook their heads.

I tried to hide my excitement but I failed.

"IYA??? KAMULAH PELAJAR CIKGU YANG PALING SIOK, BEST DAN MANTAP! Buat la begini selalu ah...bagus la kamu sendiri kasi bersih kelas. Senanggggggggggg hati cikgu..."

They were relieved. Garang betul kah muka sia ni ah?

So, after they cleaned up, we all sat and I decided to do a little research.

"Siapa suka Inggilis?"

Only a couple of hands were shown. I asked the same questions for other subjects. English remains at the bottom. Maths won. Damn numbers.

"Jadi...apa matlamat kamu untuk PMR? Berapa A kamu mau cuba dapat?"

I was quite disheartened at their response but I do appreciate the honesty. The highest goal was 2A. Either they were demotivated or being realistic.

"Jadi yang lain? Kalau 2A berapa B?"

Ada yang jawab 1B, 2B...but mostly 3C, 4C and 5C.

"Suka betul kamu sama C kan? Cacat bah C!" I told them, trying my best to be less sarcastic.

Then Saibi told me...

"C tu Inggilis bah teacher."

- to be continued.

New School - Day 1 Survival Report

I SURVIVED!!

For starters, I haven't got my timetable yet but no relief classes too! Then eventhough I had to have a long and early drive going there, the journey is worth it. Except just now poor Licik had a radiator situation...it could be the extreme afternoon heat. But then again, luckily nothing bad happened on the road! Puji Tuhan!
I made some new acquaintances which I hope could be friends. So far, we are "satu kepala", so I take that as a good sign.
I also have a table to my name! Woot! Students so far, less memeningkan compared to my previous. But I miss dorang si Arthur punya class yang sot2 tapi mau belajar. Colleagues are nice and friendly (so far), too early to say but I'll take that as a positive sign.

So far, I got nearly all my classroom supplies. I think it's a great first day.

I just hope Licik will be able to stand the drive.

New Year at Keningau.

New Year's is always a family affair in my father's side of the family. So, every year the Juin's would gather 'round at someone's place and celebrate. For 2009, it's my family's turn to host the celebration. So, lo and behold...my house in Keningau!

While the aunties and mommies were busy in the kitchen....

...the daddies and the uncles (and the nephews) cook outdoors...

When night comes...

...the family prays together and of course...

...camwhore together!!!!...

And when is said and done, the food and drinks were all digested...

it's time for presents!!! Everyone seemed to have a lot of fun :-) I hope my cousin enjoys his new pillow hohohoho....

Then after the presents, the clock strikes twelve...and everyone wishes everyone a Happy New Year!!

I just can't resist waving goodbye to 2009 and usher it through the door...

P/S : By the way, it was my niece Velanie birthday that night as well, so she told me to "taruh" her picture in my blog. What Velanie says, goes!

Happy Birthday Velanie!!

May you have a Blessed and Happy New Year 2010, too!!

Love You!!!
