Sweet Friendship

The challenge at Phindy's Friday Challenge Blog is to create a card featuring DISTRESSING.

I bet you were wondering how distressing and friendship go together. In my mind, if I were distressed about something, nothing would make me feel better than sitting with a dear friend at a cafe or coffee shop, pouring out my troubles and knowing that my friend would respond in just the right way.

You don't have to use a Phindy's image on your card but you get two entries if you do. If you don't have a Phindy's image, then I encourage you to pop over to her store because there are lots of great ones to buy, including some lovely new stamps.

I am going to enter this card in the following challenges:

Divas By Design - Spots and/or Stripes
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
The Sisterhood of Crafters - Use a Digital Stamp
Party Time Tuesdays - Anything Goes
Sassy Cheryl's - Spots and Dots
Creative Mondays - Anything Goes
Crazy Challenge - Anything Goes
Ooh La La Creations - Photo Inspiration
PanPastel- UK - Use a Ribbon

Let's Play Tic Tac Toe

It is Saturday and it is another sensational one at Sugar Creek Hollow.  This week we want you to create your vintage, shabby chic or primitive inspired card or paper crafted project and play TIC TAC TOE.

Using the game board shown below, choose any row horizontally, vertically or diagonally and add the three items in that row to your project.  Just remember that all three items you use must come from the same row and all must be on your project.

We have another wonderful sponsor this week. A Day for Daisies will be providing our random winner with a $12 gift card to their store, which is filled with beautiful digital stamps.

The random winner will also receive a Sugar Creek Hollow badge to display on her blog. The Design Team will choose a Card of the Week and the creator will not only receive a Sugar Creek Hollow badge but will also be in the running for a Guest Designer spot.

As always, the Design Team has created some inspiration for you and this time we have all used a wonderful image from A Day for Daisies. If you would like more details on each of the cards, just click on the designer's name and you will be taken right to their blog.

I have used the middle vertical row on my card.  The big flower is simply made using a couple of punches.  For fun I digitally paper pieced the apron.

I am going to enter this card in the following challenges:

Southern Girls - Anything Goes
Ruby's Rainbow - Flowers

Image:  40's Woman (A Day for Daisies)
Card Stock:  Kraft & Gold (Recollections)
Paper:  Farmhouse (October Afternoon)
Colouring Medium:  Pencil Crayons (Prismacolors) with OMS (Taltine)
Tools & Embellishments:  Martha Stewart Punch Daisy Around the Page Set, Flower Punches (EK Paper Shapers), Buttons (My Stash), Baker's Twine (Gift from Mary at Mo Joe Designs), Antique Linen Distress Ink (Ranger)

Distressed Teddy

Happy Easter!  I hope you are enjoying your day.  We had brunch at my daughter's house this morning instead of doing a big Easter dinner.  My granddaughter was excited because she got to do an Easter Egg hunt and also received some toys and clothes.  She received a new science set and couldn't wait to show me the marbles that were growing in water - apparently they started out as granules the size of the head of a teeny pin.  My daughter graduated with an Honours Degree in Bio-Medical Sciences so she is anxious to see that her kids get exposed to the sciences as well as other subjects so they can choose which appeals to them.  The baby was just happy to show off his walking skills and play with his new toys.  He is too young for candy.

The challenge this week at Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog requires that you make a distressed card featuring one of Sassy Cheryl's images.  I had never distressed anything but after my disappointment with the Easter cards, I am happy with this one and hope you like it too.

I am also entering this card in the following challenges:

Cooking It Up With Kate - Something New (Technique), Something Old (Charm has been in my stash for 6 years) and Something Sweet ( Teddy's are so sweet)
Digital Tuesday Challenge - Scrap It (The only thing that didn't come from my bits and pieces box was the card blank)
S2G Challenges - Anything Goes

The image is called Hanging Out To Dry and was a generous freebie from Cheryl for her group members on Paper Craft Planet and I sure hope he isn't too distressed hanging by one arm!  It has been coloured using a combination of Prismacolor and Koh-I-Noor pencil crayons.  The papers are from Basic Grey and my stash.  The cardstock is from Lasting Impressions and my stash.  Other supplies used:  Ribbon (Michaels), Beads (my stash), Brads (Making Memories), Vintage Photo Distress Ink (Ranger), Safety Pin (Dollarama), Butterfly Charm (my stash), Flower Punch (EK Paper Shapers) and Tag Punch (Martha Stewart).
