I'm baaaaaack!

Hey did you miss me?

Toes in the water at Bondi

Probably not.... especially if you follow me on instagram and were subjected to me spamming photos of Sydney!

The last time I visited in 2001, I couldn't climb the steps at the Opera House. So here's proof that now I can! It's amazing what new lungs can do.

Even though I was actually there for a week of work, I managed to organise it so that the five days of work included the weekend.

I had a blast - I caught up with Cass and Cath for dinner... and I did lots of exploring and sightseeing.

I finally arrived home tonight to find my new tote bags (very exciting)!

This design in Hexiepalooza (of course)

And there's also Spring Bouquet...

I've been lugging my Spring Bouquet tote aroud the airports. It's the perfect size for my Bipap Machine and accessories which have to go as carry-on luggage.

These are a really heavy textured canvas - love them!

Anyway, now that I'm back I've re-opened the shop and added the totes.

Something else super exciting is happening tomorrow but I'll have to get back to that soon!

Totes...

My new Society 6 Tote Bag arrived in the mail today and I'm stoked with it!

It's the perfect size for a bit of grocery shopping (I've run out of milo - disaster)!

There's free shipping until Sunday if you'd like one for yourself.

Totes Awesome

Totes, totes.... totes are back in the shop!

In three totes awesome colours.

I've been toting a full one around the hospital for weeks - it fits oodles of stuff - perfect for all my gym gear.

Get them while they last!

You've just gotta go with the flow Sew with the 'Jo

I don't know what it is at the moment, but the sewjo is on fire!

Maybe it's the fact that there's this strange space in time where I'm free to just do whatever I want. No doctors / no hospitals / no pulmonary rehab / no work / no plans / no appointments.

It's just so damn refreshing and I'm loving it!

The first thing I started on was a custom order for one of my infusion nurses. I wanted it to be really nice because she has the magic hands when it comes to cannulating. First time every time (unlike everyone else)!

She wanted something similar to my Go Granny Tote, but it needed to be wider, with a zipper opening, red fabric, and an adjustable strap.

I only had half a metre of this fabric and I had to use every single centimetre (hence the strap teamed with some webbing).

She also wanted a zip pouch, similar to the SuperPops pouch that I use for my drawing pens, but longer and wider.

The instructions for this lined pouch are in Nikki's You Sew Girl book.

That's the first two projects for the year... lots more to come!

Oh... and Happy New Year

They're Totes Awesome

I love a good Tote Bag.

They're seriously awesome for toting things about the place.

I have a very nice collection of Totes.

I use them all the time.

I even made myself another one not very long ago.

Then I decided to design some new fabric and make some more.

Perfect for Spring.

They're in the shop.

From WS to NY via London

I'm always very excited when I get a custom request for something special, and then I'm blown away by some of the places my creations end up.

This was a groovy West Suburban Melbourne teatowel... but now it's the perfect shopping tote.

In less than two weeks, it's heading to London and then to the BlogHer 2012 Conference in New York.

Carly loves to shop so I made sure to re-inforce those handles, and double top stitch the lining.

I had a bit of a lining dilemma last week, but in a quick trip to Spotty I found this print, which not only matched perfectly, but it's a great weight too (something similar to drill).

I'm giving it to her today so fingers crossed she's happy!

PS - if you would like to make yourself a super simple unlined teatowel tote, I have a downloadable pdf tutorial .

It's Totes Good

I'm dropping off some brand new stock to Gleaners Inc today (well.... after I finish my weekly torture session in the gym first).

There'll be simple shopping totes, and a range of bibs made from teatowel cushion offcuts, and vintage fabrics from my stash.

PS - I'll need a very strong cappucino when I get there Liz!

Just for me

I did actually manage to make something this week........although I probably should have ironed it before I took photos!

This was 'on my desk' on Wednesday........

It's just a simple little tote bag and I made it just for me.......which is something that I don't do very often. I like it.
