A day behind for my own prompt

So it seems that I'm a day late for my very own #reverb12 prompt.... but, I most definitely have a very good excuse which I'll probably blog about tomorrow.

My prompt was:

Living life on a transplant waiting list gives you lots of reasons to reflect on what you've achieved in your life, and what you wish for the future.

Imagine a scenario where you only had one year left to live. What is one thing that you really wish to do that you just haven't had the chance to accomplish yet?

The one thing that I wished I'd done in my 20's was to travel more. I was so focussed on working hard and saving up and paying off a mortgage, that I didn't take enough time to indulge in holidays.

So, if I was able to travel or fly (which I can't at the moment) that is exactly what I'd do.

I've even made myself a little map of places that I'd like to go..... some that I've never seen before, and others that I'd love to re-visit.

I'll get there.... one day!

#reverb12 Day One - How are you starting?

What a great prompt from Kat today to begin the month.

How are you starting this last month of 2012?

Take a moment, close your eyes, take a deep breath and ask yourself the question: how do you feel...

... in your body? in your mind? in your day job? in your creative life? in your heart?

My answer to this question would have to be 'frazzled'
I hate complaining. I really do. So, I rarely complain out loud.

It's day 457 on the transplant waiting list.

I'm constantly multi-tasking between doctors / hospitals / medical treatments / my craft business / contract admin work / writing work / learning new skills / socialising.... oh, and throw in a kitchen reno too.

My brain is a jumble of ideas which I would love to make a reality.... but I'm stuck, and there's nothing I can do but wait some more.

#Reverb12

Kat from I Saw You Dancing emailed me a couple of weeks ago to ask if I would be interested in making a blog button for #Reverb12

Of course, I jumped at the chance to test out the design skills that I've been working hard on developing and improving over the past year.

I didn't actually know anything about the background of #Reverb or what it was all about, so I asked if she could give me a quick explanation.

Kat told me.....

  • Reverb is all about spending a moment each day in December, thinking about the year that has past and looking forward to the year ahead. The prompts range from the deep & meaningful to the everyday i.e. everything from "What did you let go of this year?" to "What was the best movie you saw?"
I sat and stared at a blank computer screen listening to the cogs spinning in my brain when it hit me....       a series of translucent stacked circles and cogs woud illustrate the overlapping of thoughts and ideas reflecting back, and looking forward.

I've signed up to play along. I may not respond to all of the prompts (December is always an extremely busy month), but it'll be good to read the daily prompt and reflect with my own thoughts anyway.

Thankyou Kat!
