My Creative Space

Well there hasn't been any action on the sewing machine this week, but I've managed to spend most evenings playing around with photoshop instead.

Everywhere I look at the moment, I see hexagons. Lots of the quilters are sewing along with their hexagons and tagging them with #HexyMF. I had no clue what the tag meant until I asked Bron.

I'm not a quilter, and I'm most definitely not a hand stitcher, so I'm playing with hexagons in my own way instead.

What I would really love to do is to print my own hexie fabric and make myself a hexie dress.

What do you think?

More creative spaces....

Make It Snappy

One of the great things about having a house filled with crafty supplies, is that you can whip up virtually anything on a whim.

There was a birthday party invitation emergency on Thursday, and I had one hour to design and print enough invites to give out to the twins little friends at kinder on Friday.

I didn't get a chance to take a photo of the finished product, but they were printed onto lovely Museo card stock (not that the kinder kids would take any notice).

I think they turned out pretty cute!

Mocking Up

I've been playing around in photoshop again over the weekend. It's actually quite fun (especially when I turn my study into a little hotbox on a freezing cold day). 'Tis quite cosy in there...

Anyhow... I've been thinking about what I would like my website to look like (when I actually HAVE a website that is).

It's just going to be a simple front page. I don't want any detail here, as the buttons will lead you on to the detail.

For me, as a user, the best websites are very clear, concise, easy to read, and easy to navigate. But, I also really want it to be something that I've designed myself. There's a sense of satisfaction that comes with it being your own work.

Anyway, this is just my first mock-up. I'd love to know what you think, and what your opinions are on the best types of websites.
