Popping Up

I popped into the Open Studio and Pop Up Shop on my travels yesterday and took a few quick slightly blurry iPhone snaps

There's something there for everyone on your list. I lashed out and bought a little pressie for myself, and another for a friend.

It's open all day today and tomorrow from 10AM-5PM!

The Final One

We're getting closer and closer to Christmas so it's time for the final Open Studio and Pop-Up Shop!

This time it'll be open over four whole days - Thursday to Sunday. Come and visit between 10AM and 5PM.

In other news, I made some new Gift Tag Kits for the Pop-Up Shop...

.... and there's a few extra, so I've popped them in my online shop.

There's three different Gift Tag Kits to choose from.

It's really simple - you just cut them out, punch a hole where indicated, add the string and voila!
Gorgeous and completely unique gift tags.

Packing and Prepping

I've spent the day packing and prepping...

I'm off to the B-Fabulous wedding on Saturday, but I'll also have some goodies available at the Polly Pratt Pop-Up Shop at Olive Grove.

The Colour-In Kits have been updated and they're on sale!

Just in case I forget to blog the details later in the week... here's the poster!

I just need to pack a few more things, and then get organised to head off to tonights HLTTV meeting.

All set up and ready to go!

I headed in to the Olive Grove yesterday to set my goodies up in readiness for todays Open Studio.

There's a little bit of everything on offer.

Anna had a picture hook on her wall which was just at the perfect spot for my jewellery display to hang.

The Open Studio is on from 10AM-5PM. Anna will be there right throughout the day, and I'll be there from 12PM onwards. Hope to see you there!

The Polly Pratt Pop Up Shop

Only one more sleep!

I haven't had a market stall for the looooongest time, so I'm very excited about tomorrows Open Studio and Pop-Up Shop.

It's in the Polly Pratt Studio which is at the rear of Olive Grove Studios - 159 Sydney Rd, Brunswick.
You just enter via the shop, and then follow the signs out to the rear.

Of course, there's also the amazing designers and makers at Olive Grove to check out too!

I've been instagramming while I've been packing (I'm addicted sorry).

I'm taking along large and small craft panels...

...and tiny craft panels

Pendant necklaces and earrings...

Cushions and cushion covers...

Fabric, fabric and more fabric

Bibs

....and a whole range of pouches

So hopefully there's something to suit anyone and everyone!

See you there...

PS - we won't have access to Eftpos so please bring cash to make purchases.

PPS - I'll also have a small range of You Sew Girl Patterns available. If there's something specific you're looking for, please let me know and I'll make sure to bring it along.

Proud Moment

I spent yesterday afternoon packing fabric for the upcoming Polly Pratt Pop-Up Shop this Saturday.

As I haven't been selling at any markets, I usually only cut fabric to a specific size as orders come in from the shop.

When I stood back and looked from afar, I have to admit to having a bit of a proud moment.

Fingers crossed the shoppers like them!

PS - this is post number 2000!!!

My Creative Space

It's not my creative space today. Instead, I'm sharing some snaps of Anna's creative space.

She has a studio for her Polly Pratt business at the rear of Olive Grove where you can find her beautiful creations.

I've been having terrible trouble with invisible zips, so Anna took me through the process that she uses to sew them into the rear of her dresses.

I might be able to stop crunching and breaking them all now!

More creative spaces...

Merry Christmas To All

Merry Christmas everyone!

I'm going to be celebrating in style today wearing my gorgeous new Polly Pratt dress.

It's being teamed with this lovely Cooper St jacket that I picked up at the oppy a few weeks ago, and my Dorothy Shoes (of course)

I'd normally try to get away and have a bit of a holiday at this time, but this year I need to stay in Melbourne so that I'm close enough to the hospital just in case the phone rings in the middle of the night.

Anyway, today is the perfect opportunity to thank each and every person who takes the time to read this little blog every day, everyone who leaves a comment, and every lovely customer who has made a purchase from my shop during the year.

Making stuff, stocking my online shop, and blogging are the motivations that keep me going each and every day........ and every reader, every comment, and every purchase spurs me on to keep going, instead of just giving up.

So I just wanted to say thankyou... and Merry Christmas.

My Creative Space

A little bit of purple in my creative space today....

These were made using some of the lovely offcuts from Anna's Wendy Dresses.

I think the fabric may be this one from the Love collection by Amy Butler? I'm sure all of you Amy afficionados can confirm/deny!

A Very Merry Christmas to me - part 2

More goodies just for me!

I bought myself this super sweet embroidery kit from the very lovely Magdalena from The Craft Revival.
I'm taking it along on my mini beach holiday (it's too short to take the machine). I've had a little mini sneak peek inside - it has absolutely everything I need, even a sewing needle!

I also picked up a sweet little Polly Pratt mini needle book from Anna - also a perfect holiday size!

On Sunday, we went into Ballarat to have a browse around at some of the vintage / secondhand shops.

I found this lovely vintage dress. I'm not quite sure whether this colour suits my skin tone, but I'm going to try it with a red slip underneath and just see.

I also found this gorgeous rose embroidery which has the ugliest plastic frame I ever did see.....

.... and to think that someone actually chose to have it professionally framed with that (quite a long time ago according to the old six digit phone number)!

My Creative Space

There's not much happening in My Creative Space today - I've made a little bit of progress on the camera bag from last week. The planning is finished, and the interfacing and cutting out has begun..... and there's a zip pocket waiting to be sewn into place too.

I'm planning on doing a little bit of tidying up, before I frock up and head on over to Tinniegirls house to help her out with a few things before tonights grand opening.

Reminders:

There's only one day left to enter my giveaway where you could win a copy of Microsoft Office Home and Business 2010 (I spotted it at Officeworks this week - it sells for $314).

Anna from Polly Pratt is also having a giveaway - you could win a Womens Size 14 Wendy Dress

Tomorrow is Flashback Friday Fashion Fail  - The Debutante / Wedding / Formal Edition. I hope you've dragged those embarrassing photos out of the archives!

Oh , and one very last thing - pop on over and visit the hostess with the mostess for all of todays creative hi-jinks!

Bookmarketing

My stall

Borders was a lovely venue for a mini craft market lastnight. I'm happy to report that I stayed well away from the craft book section all evening (you see I have a secret addiction to craft books.... my bookcases are overflowing with them)...

Tinniegirl and Ms L popped in for a visit after work.

Cathie and her hubby and her adorable little kiddies came along too.....

I spent most of the evening drinking coffee, and chatting with the other lovely ladies, and a few customers.

I also managed to do a tiny bit of embroidery stitching as well.

The two hours absolutely flew by..... only four more sleeps until Daylesford!
