Kooky Kraft Klub - Grand Opening Tomorrow

Super exciting news! I can finally announce my new stockist in the Western Suburbs.

Kooky Kraft Klub is opening it's doors for business with a grand opening on Saturday. It's a beautiful little shop filled to the brim with handmade goodness.....

......and all sorts of haberdashery and craft supplies.

There's a great workshop out the back where they'll be running lots of craft classes and events. I've already put my name down for macrame lessons.

You'll find a full range of CurlyPops goodies on offer along with lots of other fantastic designers and makers.

It's in a great position just a couple of doors down from Gravy Train Cafe, and there's another cafe directly across the road (I'm just not sure what that one is called).

The shop is at 53B Gamon St, Yarraville - just look for the lovely yarnbombed pole out the front!

Open Drawer

Photo courtesty of Open Drawer

I finished earlier than I'd expected on Monday, so with a free afternoon on my hands, I thought I'd take a little chance and head off on a road trip to Camberwell.

I'd been intrigued about Open Drawer ever since I found out about the Hottie Challenge.

It was lovely to meet Prue and Robyn who own the business, and find out a little bit more about why they chose to support The Margaret Pratt Foundation. They're both extremely passionate artists/crafters, and you can tell from the very first minute that they love what they do.

I had a grand tour of the shop - the front section contains all of the beautiful handmade goodies (shoppers heaven), and the rear section contains the supplies (crafters heaven). There's also a lovely room where they run groups and classes, and another separate workroom with all of the sewing equipment.

Upstairs is the beautiful gallery space. I wandered around the exhibition for a while, chose some favourites, and lingered (as you do of course)....

The current exhibition named Transparency finishes at the end of this month. I wish that I'd noted down the artists name, but I fell in love with quite a few pieces that were made using textile techniques including cut up embroidered tablecloths and doilies.

If you're in Camberwell, you most definitely should check it out at 1158 Toorak Rd ... there's also a great coffee shop just a couple of doors down, so you can make it a whole afternoon of fun!

The Musical Collection and Little Shop Of...

Gosh it's been such an exciting week around here!

I've been so caught up that I'd forgotten to announce that I also have a brand new stockist.

You can now find CurlyPops goodies at Little Shop Of... at 8 Woorayl St, Carnegie - or you can also purchase from their online shop.

I also have this new range of pouches from The Musical Collection....

I haven't had a chance to put them in the shop yet (they're $25 each), and I'm about to dash out the door, so if you would like me to put one aside for you, just email me - mscurlypops@gmail.com

Have a happy Friday!

Red Brick Gallery - new stockist & Tomorrows Grand 70's plan!

Tomorrow night is the grand opening of the brand new Red Brick Gallery and Emporium in Ballarat.

I'm very excited as although I can't make it to the grand opening, I'll definitely be going in to visit on my christmas holidays.

You can find a range of my iPhone / Gadget pouches, and also some Betty Jo goodies! I can't wait to find out what other gorgeous handmade goodies will be stocked.

In other news, there's a grand groovy 70's plan in place for tomorrow. Just post a groovy photo of yourself from the 70's so that we can all have a good chuckle together (I think everyone needs a chuckle at this time of the year).

Of course, if you were only a twinkle in your parents eyes in the 70's, then feel free to play along with groovy 80's or groovy 90's (you young whippersnappers)!

I'll be searching through the archives (ahem.... photo albums) tonight to choose my fave. I'll add a little linky list too, so that we can all see who else is playing.

'Til then....

They made it!

I was a little bit worried that they wouldn't make it, even though I'd express posted a lovely new selection of brooches to Handmade Heaven yesterday.

If you're after a last minute christmas pressie, pop in and say hello to Liesa and have a cupcake for me!

Dear Gladys,

I've been busting to tell this little secret for an entire week now.

There was little bit of a hint yesterday...

I've been hiding away for the last week, searching through the stash looking for vintage loveliness, cutting fabric, and stitching it together to create some wonderful new pieces that I delivered to a shop thismorning.

I now have my first ever retail stockist in Melbourne - Dear Gladys,

Can you tell that I'm just ever so slightly super excited?

Dear Gladys, is a Vintage and Contemporary Boutique which stocks beautiful and unique clothing and accessories.

All profits from Dear Gladys, support Fitted for Work.
You can find the shop at 296 High St, Northcote.

You can also find a brand new batch of brooches in pretty summertime colours....

Just in time for a spot of Christmas Shopping!
