Shopping in the stash

I'm trying really really hard to use what I have at the moment (just don't mention that sneaky little trip to Amitie a couple of weeks ago)!

Sometimes, whatever I find in the stash dictates what I decide to make.

Case in point - this beautiful vintage placemat set which was still in the original packaging. I've made a very simply styled handbag so that the focus is drawn to the placemat.

One placemat down, three more to go....

Sharing the stash with Mike - a finale!

It's been so much fun this week to share my stash and to have a peek at lots and lots of other stashes....I've been green with envy checking out all the other blogs!

These two pieces were gifted to me from Stacey, just because she saw them in the fabric shop and she thought that I would love them (and she was absolutely correct). It's things like this that warm the cockles of my heart......simple generousity and thinking of others....it's a truly wonderful thing.

Thankyou to Pip for hosting such a magical week!

Sharing the stash with Mike....I forget which day

Today I'm confused..... it's hard to remember what on earth I'm doing. OK I know it's Saturday and so I think this is 'Sharing the Stash Day 5' and 'Blogtoberfest Day 4'.

These ones are more fabrics for me....the fat quarters above, I bought at Amitie when I was at the last Mixtogether. They're destined to be a quilt top for the couch (one day when I finally get around to it). I'm thinking that I might just make a patchy top and then just use polar fleece for the bottom layer and some bias binding to attach it all together.

This one is a beautiful fabric that Ingrid sent me as part of her Pay It Forward challenge. I absolutely love it and I think that I might have to make myself something kitcheny to take advantage of the lovely print. I'm thinking maybe a table runner for a tea party.

Anyhoo..gotta be quick today....3 prospective buyers booked for today and 1 for tomorrow so far...eeeeek, have to do a clean check!

Sharing my stash with Mike - Day 4

I searched and searched through the stash so that I could find these fabrics, and then finally realised why they were nowhere to be found!

They were hiding in the two suitcases full of fabric in the wardrobe! I'd forgotten about these while I was sharing my stash on Tuesday.

Anyway, these are some fabrics that I bought just for me...so of course, they haven't been touched. I do like to look at them, and stack them, and re-stack them, and move them around the place. I just don't have the heart to cut them yet....still waiting to find the perfect project!

The top 3 are from a mixed pack that I bought from Hollabee and the bottom 2 are a mixed pack that I bought from Pippijoe.

For lots more sharing of the stash, head on over to visit Pip!

Sharing my stash with Mike Day 3 & Blogtoberfest Day 2

This is day 3 of sharing my stash (thankyou Pip for hosting). Today it's my favourite kiddie prints. This lovely selection was all purchased from The Retromummy Shop...and I may have just had another Retromummy splurge yesterday (sssshhhh don't tell anyone)!

...and this one is to celebrate Blogtoberfest. It's a gorgeous piece of vintage fabric that Cathy gave me. I'm saving it for a very special handbag that I am planning on making for myself sometime this century!

For more stash sharing, head on over to Meet Me at Mikes and to join in Blogtoberfest, head on over to Big Cats Emporium.

Sharing my stash with Mike - Day Two

I'm playing along with Pip's week of sharing the mighty stash...

This fabric is my absolute number one favourite of all time. It's a vintage Dri-Glo sheet set that I found on Ebay a few years ago, still wrapped up in the original packaging.

I've used it sparingly on a quite a few projects....I think I probably have about 1.5 metres of it left. The print and the colours make me happy.
