A Rainbow Satchel

Cate commented a few weeks ago that my Somewhere Over the Rainbow bib design would look great on a satchel.... and so the wheels were set in motion on this latest creation.

I tweaked the design a little and had it printed in a larger format.
I decided to instagram the process as I was making it so that Cate could see the bag coming together.

If there wasn't enough rainbow colour on the outside, then just open the flap!

I hope she likes it!

A Mini and a Maxi Satchel

The Dragster is one of my favourite illustrations. I really like that it suits a entire range of ages.

I had one lonely Dragster Panel left in the stash, so I whipped up a new satchel for a friends son. He's growing up so quickly that he has now grown out of the mini satchel that I made a few years ago.

His little sister also needed a new satchel. The request was for pink, pink.... and more pink.

I think I can manage pink?

A Dragster Theme

There seems to be an unintentional theme happening this week.

This one was a request from my mum. She needed a birthday pressie for a friends daughter who is a tween. I have absolutely no clue what tweens actually like, so I hope this fits the bill.

While making it earlier this week, I had one of those really strange experiences where I just couldn't remember how to make an adjustable strap. Then once I'd worked that out again, I managed to sew the straps onto the bag outer the wrong way up. Weird.

Anyway, I like how it turned out (after all that unpicking).... it's not too girly I hope?

For a Little Miss

A certain Little Miss had a birthday yesterday.
I won't see her until Sunday to give her this pressie, but I've checked with her mum to make sure that she doesn't accidentally see this post.

I made her a little satchel bag using my dragster fabric, with an adjustable strap so that it can grow with her.

Now I just need to wrap it up and decide which flavour cake to bake Sunday arvo!

Moo Moo and the Manbag

Little Moo Moo has a bit of a fascination with handbags at the moment.

He keeps pinching his mummies handbag, putting it in his Big Red Car and driving (like Fred Flinstone) away with it.

So it was about time that I made him his very own Manbag.

As you can see, I just winged it, so the satchel flap is a bit too big but I'm sure a two year old won't notice. I used a piece of the lovely cowboy fabric that Stacey sent me to make the flap, and I added a magnetic snap to close it.

It even has an adjustable strap for when he grows a bit bigger...

I think he likes it!
