Lovely things that others have made

I was sorting through my photo folders earlier this week when I realised that there were a few things that I hadn't blogged yet.

The first one is this lovely dress that Jennie made for me as part of a swap. The pattern is Simplicity 2925. It's unhemmed in this photo, so it's a little longer than the actual finished product. Jennie made lovely capped sleeves for me, and added side in-seam pockets!

This next one is a happy accident (happy for me anyway).

Bec made herself this lovely Grainline Tank but it was a bit too tight around the shoulders...

...so now it's mine!

At the Museum of Science & Industry in Manchester, UK

After thismornings blog post, Jennie just emailed me through this fabulous pic of her camera bag at the Museum of Science & Industry in Manchester, UK!

I love that it's an action shot of the bag actually in use (rather than just being draped over Frances).

Brilliant!

Leaving on a Jet Plane

Outer fabric - Ruby Star Rising Viewfinders by Melody Miller for Kokka

You may have seen some sneaky peeks of this project over on Instagram.

It left on a jet plane with Jennie yesterday, and is probably touching down in the UK right about now.

The brief from Jennie was that she needed a camera bag that would fit her camera and her wallet, and could be slung over her shoulder.

Jennie provided the gorgeous fabrics for me to work with.

The other requirement was a pocket within the flap to hold things such as tourist maps.

There is a padded lengthways divider to separate her wallet and camera.

...and this is a pic that I stole from Jennie's FB page which shows the camera and wallet in place.

Now I'm just wishing that I was on that plane!

My Creative Space

I've been Instagramming up a storm this week while documenting the process of making a custom camera bag for Jennie (you can find me as @curlypops over there by the way)...

I'm on the finishing strait now. There's just that delicate job of cutting a hole through my perfectly constructed bag flap to attach the twist lock (hence why I'm referring back to Nikki's blog instructions in that final shot).

Nearly finished...

Watcha Wearin' Wednesday

It's not quite warm enough to be wearing it just yet, but look what arrived in the mail yesterday.

I was the lucky winner of Jennie's giveaway, and she made this beautiful top in my size, with my choice of fabric.  I think it must be the very first custom made top that I've ever owned, which is very exciting indeed.

I think Jennie may just be psychic..... she also included some very cute dinosaur fabric, and sewing machine needles. I've been breaking quite a few lately while sewing with wire so they were just perfect!

Frances has taken over modelling duties for me thismorning. She's a very obliging stand-in model.

Of course, if you also love this top, you can pop down to Olive Grove Studios and buy one of your very own.

Speaking of giveaways, I also won some beautiful vintage sheet fat quarters from Susan which she bought along to NCB last week.

Thanks so much Jennie and Susan!

The Northside Wrap

Melbourne turned on the most perfect weather for a market yesterday...

I have to give a huge thankyou to Tinniegirl for helping me to set up, move my car for me, and coming back to help me pack up again. Without help from friends and family, I wouldn't be able to participate in markets, so I'm truly appreciative of the help.

I requested a stall near the cupcakes.... just for sustenance of course!

I forgot to take the correct camera with me, so I have to give a huge thankyou to Jennie for taking all of these photos and emailing them to me.

I did make a couple of purchases, but I haven't taken photos of them yet, so I'll save them for later this week.

In the meantime.... I probably should start unpacking my suitcase!

Northside Makers Market this Saturday

Yippee! One more sleep until the very first Northside Makers Market.

I've made my list, I've checked it twice, have you been naughty 'cos I've been nice (at least I'm pretty sure I've been nice).

The three lovely ladies have done a fabulous job to get it all up and running, and the weather forecast is sunshine and 19 degrees.

Now I just need to pack the car and get some sleep tonight (while dreaming of the sausage sizzle and the red velvet cupcakes...mmmm).
