It's Tuesday and I can't wait to....

Today, I can't wait to finish putting up my new curtains in my craft space.

I finally have my mirrors on the wall.

Notice the empty curtain rod on the wall on the left. I bought the curtains and the curtain rods (with rings), but I forgot the curtain hooks to attach the curtain to the curtain rings. Today, I'll be getting the hooks and installing the heavy curtains.

The curtain wire has been installed so that I can section off the craft space from the rest of my living space (so I don't have to look at the mess that I've created). I still need to make myself a curtain for that wire - I'm thinking of using something quite sheer and light and plain like a muslin, but jazzing it up with some applique and embroidery.

I think today's task might be to just clean up first!

For more Tuesday's head on over and say hi to Lou (and wish her a happy birthday while you're there).

It's Tuesday and I can't wait...

I really can't wait for the storm clouds to disappear this week....

Bring on the rain - just make sure to clear the skies. My wireless internet really really really doesn't like all this cloud cover. It's costing me $100 per month and I'm having connection problems and drop outs. I'm struggling to be able to read everything in my google reader before I get disconnected, and it's really pushing me over the edge!

I'm seriously considering going back to a broadband connection. The problem is that I don't have a home phone connection. I'll have to pay to have a home phone connected, pay even more to have the connection put in the spare bedroom (where the desktop pc lives), just so that I can have naked broadband connected and then disconnect the home phone line. It's just such a huge waste of money....agggghhhhh.

I'd love to know if anyone else has any other better suggestions.

It's Tuesday and I can't wait.....

......to pack my bags and head to Sewjourn for the weekend with some of the lovely Thornbury Craft Bonanza ladies.

With only 3 sleeps to go, the excitement is mounting. I'm making lots of lists so that I don't forget any of the necessary items (especially a chocolate stash).

The hardest thing is trying to decide with crafty projects to take. I'm the queen of the quick and easy project - I get bored with anything that takes too long, so I need to make sure that I have plenty of things to chop and change with.

Head on over to Buttons by Lou Lou for more Tuesday can't wait!

I'm having problems with my Telstra Wireless internet at the moment - especially at night. I couldn't comment on any blogs lastnight - I just kept getting page load errors, so sorry if I haven't said hello!

It's Tuesday and I can't wait....

...to finish off this bag. I've cut out the paper pattern pieces, block fused the interfacing and wadding onto the fabric, and then cut it out.

Tomorrow (hopefully, as long as not too many other things get in my way), I sew.

I'm a little bit late, but check out who else played along today at Buttons By Lou Lou...

It's Tuesday and I can't wait to....

.... wear my new scarf

Tinniegirl gave me this beautiful scarf that she crocheted (It took a close up shot to show the wonderful pattern detail); and ever since, the weather has been mild, and even sunny and warm.

May in Melbourne.... it should be scarf weather!!!

A bit of gratuitous advertising

The Made'n'Thornbury market is on again this Saturday. I'll be there selling my wares, and Tinniegirl will be helping me out too, so come and say hello!

The address is 99 Leinster Grove, Thornbury and it runs from 10AM - 3PM. All of the stalls are inside a hall, so no need to worry about inclement weather. Bring the kiddies along to have some fun at the kids craft table, and to pick up some Mothers Day pressies.

There'll be lots of other lovely stalls too - these are just some of them:

Pepperberry and Co.

Finki

Vestal Vagrant

Flicketty Splits

Melbourne Epicure (head on over and check out the gingerbread men - you won't be sorry)!

Watcha Wearing Wednesday

Today I'm wearing one of my gorgeous purchases from the market on Saturday. It's a button ring by Buttons by Lou Lou. While on the subject of markets, I'm going to play show and tell with all of the lovely goodies that came home with me.

Buttons by Lou Lou hair ties for a friends daughters birthday in May.

Luckie by Tinniegirl.
I joined my nephews up for the Pigeon Pair Kids Mail Swap and we're going to use the Luckie to make collage cards for the swap.

Scented soap in fabric pouch by Troischats. This smells absolutely divine.
Funky doorstop also by Troischats - this has been put to good use already replacing the oxygen bottle that I was using as a doorstop!

Glass pendant by Finki. I'm going to string this onto a piece of leather today (once I find my jewellery supplies) ...yippee!

Hand stitched bowl also by Finki.
For lots more of watcha wearing, head on over and say hi to Fii

To market, to market, to buy a.....

Wowee, my first ever craft market was sooooo much fun!

It was much better than I could have ever expected. The weather was beautiful, the location was fantastic, the stallholders were happy and friendly, there was a steady stream of customers all day long, and the five hours were over in a flash.

The kids craft table and the face painting was a huge hit with the little ones.

It was just like a huge crafty blogmeet - it was lovely to see Cindy, Bec, Liesl, Bev, Nikki, Leah, Ann-Marie, Liz, and Lara. I hope I didn't miss anyone (I have a terrible memory these days)!
We ate lovely cupcakes and drank coffee and chatted about crafty things all day long....

I made some lovely purchases and swaps with Buttons by Lou Lou, Finki and Troischats. I haven't taken any photos yet, but I'll post them later in the week.

An extra special thanks goes to Sel, Cathy and Ms L for helping me out with the packing, unpacking, and set up etc, and to Rach for helping me unload everything today..... and to everyone who came along to visit or bought a little crafty something from me!

I'm definitely going to book in for the next one.

Love Fridays..... Love Silly Gilly & Craft Markets

Today I'm Loving Friday because today (or maybe tonight) is the day that Silly Gilly is starting her Ebay auctions as a part of Handmade Help. Silly Gilly sent me some more amazing tea towels last week too, but I haven't had a chance to photograph them yet.... thankyou Silly Gilly!

There have been lots of amazingly wonderful crafty things donated for the auctions, including one of my Tea Towel Aprons - you can see a photo here: I've used a vintage pre-loved 'Victoria's Great Ocean Road' tea towel with some vintage floral sheeting for this one.

I'll be launching the Tea Towel Aprons and a new Handbag Design at the Made'n'Thornbury Market at the end of the month.
There'll be lots of other crafty ladies selling their wares as well:
just to name a few
.....and there'll be coffee and baked goods and a kiddies craft table too!
Check out the home of Love Fridays...

Beautiful Buttons by Lou Lou

I've borrowed this lovely photo from Lou as I have absolutely no idea where on earth either of the two digital cameras could be.

I was lucky enough to win the Buttons by Lou Lou Valentines giveaway, and these gorgeous pink (ahem - my favourite colour), earrings arrived in my mailbox last week.

Lou makes lots of lovely buttony things - you can check out her blog, her brand spanking new website or even better still, you can visit the Made'n'Thornbury market later this month.

PS - Thanks for all the undie love yesterday. Now I can see the funny side of it!

Sixth in the Sixth

I was tagged by Buttons By Lou Lou earlier in the week for the sixth in the sixth tag.

I decided to go with the 6th photo in the 6th folder from 2005 (I file all of my photos in date order, starting with year). This photo was afternoon tea at the Windsor Hotel in Melbourne on February 27th 2005. If you haven't been, then I highly recommend it.... just try not to eat lunch before you go, and leave enough room for the desserts (after the sandwiches and scones).

I was lucky enough to meet Lou a couple of weeks ago at a meeting for the Made'n'Thornbury Market. It was one of those things where you introduce yourself (with your real name), and then ask the normal crafty question, "So, do you have a craft blog?", and all of a sudden realise that you've been communicating with other in cyberspace/blogland.... it's all quite amusing!

If you're really quick, Lou has a fab giveaway ending today for a pair of her gorgeous button earrings. You can enter here....
