Blogtoberfest Day 24: I see RED

Lastnight was the wonderful Redwork Quilt Hanging evening at the Abbotsford Convent.

There was a sea of red...... and a sea of lovely crafty bloggers and non-bloggers, all very eager to have a look at the exquisite finished masterpiece.

Kirsty has done such a magnificent job of the entire project. I can only imagine how much time and effort it's taken to get to this point.

My happy snaps certainly don't do any justice to the project, so please head on over to the official blog for a much better view, and all of the background information for the entire project.

I think Kirsty deserves a HUGE round of applause!

Love Fridays & Blogtoberfest Finale

Well it's the end of the working week and the end of Blogtoberfest..........

I've finished Nico's brithday present. I made an appliqued t-shirt using the fabulous cowboy fabric from Stacey, and a pair of jeans (recycled from an old pair of Mr CP's jeans).

The cowboy t-shirt also matches the cords that I whipped up earlier in the week. Both the cords and the jeans were made using the pattern that I won from Silly Gilly. Can you tell that I love that pattern much?

I'm actually a bit sad that Blogtoberfest has to end....it's been so much fun! I've been introduced to so many new blogs (which hasn't helped my procrastination problems) but has definitely kept me entertained for hours on end. I could tell exactly how much time I'd been using and how many blogs I'd been reading when my internet virtually slowed to a halt with about 7 days until the end of month...aaaagggghhh! Surely 5 Gb per month is enough for a blogger? Anyhow, I'm hoping it will reset very early tomorrow morning.

Fantastic Blogtoberfest Fact:

There have been 49 giveaways listed on my sidebar. At least 4 giveaways were newly listed today so make sure you head on over and visit them all to enter.

Thankyou so much to Big Cat for hosting such a wonderful event....she's an ideas woman you know... you just wouldn't believe how many fantastic ideas she still has to come!
Thankyou to everyone who played along this month. Thankyou to everyone who hosted a giveaway. Thankyou to everyone who left a comment. I hope everyone had the chance to make some new bloggy friends.

.....and now on to a very good reason to Love Friday today.

On the 31st January 2009, I will be heading down to Lancefield for a lovely crafty day at Sewjourn. I've been hoping and wishing for this one all week long..... and I even checked the Sewjourn blog about 5 times today to see whether the winners had been drawn (am I pathetic?).

Lo and behold, I checked after dinner and found that I was one of the winners...yippee!

Sometimes, even though some really crappy things have happened lately, I really am the luckiest blog girl in the world.

Hope everyone has a lovely long (in Melbourne) weekend.....

Mixtogether - updated

Yesterday afternoon, I went along to the first 'Mixtogether' blogmeet. We had a lovely afternoon, eating and drinking and stitching away....

Thanks so much to Justine and Nichola for organising the day.....it's nice to hang out with some other crafty chicks!

Each person had to make a gift along the theme of 'use what you have' and then the gifts were randomly given out on the day......

I received a beautiful gift made by Justine.

A gorgeous handbag filled with lots of lovely goodies.......

.....a moleskin with fabric detail, a handmade pencilcase & pencil with fabric detail, some ribbons and buttons, and a Cath Kidston Bath Melt!

Thanks so much Justine, I absolutely love all of it!

I forgot to also thank Jenny from Amitie who allowed us to use the space in her gorgeous shop. I was very good yesterday and tried not to look at all the loveliness, but I will be saving my pennies and heading back there very soon!

Blogmeet & A Finale

My blogmeet gift is all packed up and ready to go!

The lemon slice is ready to be eaten.....although I still have a real problem with making icing correctly. It's too runny again! I just can't seem to work it to the correct consistency when I'm mixing it. Of course, I never realise until I've already tipped it out and then it's too late....lucky it still tastes nice.

Yippee! Today is the 31st of May so I made it all the way through 'A Post a day in May'. I have posted every single day for 31 days in a row.....phew! Did anyone notice that the posts were getting very short and sweet towards the end? Somedays, I was really running out of things to say.

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.....I'm off to see some other crafty chicks!

Where it all started.....

I was cleaning up the study today and I found the original article that introduced me to blogging so I thought I'd share it.

One of the lovely girls who I used to work with (Hello Leigh if you're reading this!) found this article in the Melbourne Age on April 16 2007 (nearly exactly 1 year ago) and photocopied it and brought it over to my office because she knew that I loved everything to do with craft.

The article includes Meet Me at Mikes, Craft Victoria, Whip Up, Loobylu, One Red Robin, and Hop Skip Jump just to name a few. After checking all of those out, I then checked out their fave blogs, and their fave blogs and so on and so forth until I found all of my fave blogs and then started my own!

So, I want to say a big thankyou to Leigh for introducing me to blogland!
