Beached

I'm back from the beach, and I managed to achieve exactly what I wanted.

It was so amazing to be able to just go for a walk along the sand....

.... or just put my feet up and take in the view from the couch.

I even attempted a hit of tennis with the nephews!

There was only a teensy bit of crafting action. Two more hexy flowers have been joined together and added to the hexy stack. This is most definitely one of those extremely long-term projects.

Unfortunately I had to come home early after one of my meds made me sick. I'm back to the hospital tomorrow, so hopefully it'll all be sorted out pronto and I'll be back to my old self.

Hope everyone else had a lovely Easter break!

Taking A Break

All I can say right now is Phew!

The last seven weeks have been a rollercoaster of ups and downs, and a lot of hard work, but it's another good news day today.

  • The results from my bronchoscopy came back and there are NO signs of rejection.
  • All of my surgical wounds have healed on the outside so NO more dressing changes.
  • Tonight is the first night that I get to stay home alone without any Nurseslaves.
  • I was finally able to put the laces back in my volleys (it's the little things).
  • I have six WHOLE days off before any more hospital visits

If you're looking for me, this is where you'll find me...

Happy Easter

On the beach.... at Bribie Island

A little while ago I blogged about my new World Travel Gallery.

The idea is that I would love to have a gallery collection of photos, of things that I've lovingly created over the years, that have ended up in far flung places all over Australia and even the world.

So please, email me your photos and locations....

The photo above is the camera bag that I made for Car sitting on a beach at Bribie Island at sunrise.

I soooo wish I was there right now!

I miss the Beach

So today, instead of going home after pulmonary rehab...

I ended up here....

...where I found these cheeky sand covered monkeys!

Sunday Weekend Snippets

*please excuse some of the bluriness of my mobile phone photos!

The weekend began early Friday afternoon at my place with a bit of a tidy up (still working on my goals from last weeks 6 Steps Workshop).

Keke the Koala found a new home with some friends in the bookcase.

The CD's got a little organised..... (sensing a musical pattern/obsession with these two shelves).

I finally found my long lost copy of You Sew Girl (jammed in amongst, and under, a pile of junk in the bookcase)

Friday night was dinner at the beach...

....and lots of climbing

...until sunset.

Up early Saturday morning to celebrate Nico's 4th birthday.

Sunday is for eating - yummy banana bread courtesy of Cathie

Sunday is also for sewing - birthday pressie in progress...

Life's a beach.... or so I wish

I'm home again after my little mini-break to the beach.

I had to take a photo of my feet to prove that I was there. I'm always the official photographer, so I never end up in any of the photos!

The best bit about heading off prior to Christmas was that the beaches were deserted.

My sister cooked up a huge feast on Christmas Eve for our side of the family.

Once all the boys were fast asleep in bed, Santa arrived.

There was a bit of sandcastle action at the park.....

..... and bodyboarding in freezing cold water.

Boys in the hood - sheltering at the Surf Lifesaving Club

It was so cold Boxing Day evening that the beaches were completely deserted again!

This is my favourite photo from the holiday, taken on Christmas Eve.

It's the first time I've been away with my sister and brother-in-law since the twins arrived. Now I have first hand experience of just how much work my sister does on a daily basis. She's going to need a holiday to get over her holiday!

PS - Happy Birthday Big Sis!

The Weekend

I went on a special shopping mission on Saturday to buy just four balls of yarn to knit another scarf.......
I picked out the plain grey, and my mum picked out the grey and brown fleck....

....but I couldn't help myself and I had to sort throught the remnant bins and search for bargains. I also bought some more pins and yet another pair of knitting needles for myself! Then of course, I received an email Saturday night letting me know that there was a 20% off sale today (just my luck).

Then at the local shopping centre, I just happened to park my car near the sewing machine shop....so I just had to go in (it was calling my name). I didn't realise that they sold fabric and haberdashery as well so I picked up a few fat quarters that were on sale for $1.50 each and some other bits and bobs.....

Then on Sunday we went for a lovely drive down to the Surf Coast to check out some holiday houses for summer. Now that I can knit, I have a car craft! Perfect for boring freeway driving (of course I wasn't driving, I was just the passenger)!

This is the beach at Breamlea....it was still beautiful even on such a dreary day.

What a lovely weekend!
