I forgot the camera so I only have an iPhone snap

It was my sister's birthday yesterday, and a very special one at that!

I don't bake these days, but lucky for me, I know someone who is an exceptionally talented baker and cake maker....

I asked Cathie to make a chocolate mud cake with chocolate ganache, and OMG it was absolutely delicious.

The boys loved the decorative stars, and even sang a special rendition of 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' before we all joined in to sing Happy Birthday.

She received a new Kindle for Christmas so I made a Kindle Sleeve to protect it while it's in her handbag.

Happy Birthday Mr X

It was my eldest nephews birthday yesterday - 12 years have flown by so quickly, and he's so grown up and so tall these days!

We had a very yummy barbecue to celebrate lastnight. His mum made this yummy chocolate cake with cake pops on top. It was quite perfect because instead of the usual mad scramble to cut the cake, all the kiddies were given a cake pop and off they went... leaving an entire cake for the adults to eat. Much more civlised.

Mr X was lucky enough to receive an iPod Touch for his birthday, which made it very easy indeed for me to come up with a handmade pressie for him.

Oh, and as an added bonus, the headphone pocket on the back is perfect to pop in a little i-Tunes voucher. Fancy that!

A huge thankyou for all of the lovely birthday wishes yesterday.

I had a wonderful day full of chocolate mud cake, chocolate mud cupcakes, donuts, coffee, and a little hand pampering.


Luckily, one of my girlfriends thought to bring candles and matches.... so the kiddies could sing Happy Birthday and blow out the candles for me!

....and look what I have to play with now - a Speedball Screen Printing kit - just imagine the amount of mess I can make with that!

Oh, and the stripey things are groovy legwarmers.... just in time for all of this chilly Melbourne weather.

Hip Hip Hooray!

It's my birthday today.... and I've officially hit the mid thirties!

I was going to make myself a birthday cake, but I went to a new local cafe / patiserrie yesterday and they had lots of scrumptious cakes on offer, so I took the easier option and just bought one instead. It's chocolate mud cake with lots of chocolate on top..... my favourite.

I'm having morning tea / brunch with a girlfriend and then heading to my sister-in-law's beauty salon for a manicure and french polish, so it should be a lovely day.

So, it's my birthday today!
I'm going out for lunch and I'm going to drink lots of nice coffee and eat lots of nice cake. Yippee!
