Buried Treasure and an Electic Mix

Well now, the name of my post yesterday was absolutely correct. When you're completely unmotivated about packing and moving house, the most random eclectic things end up in a box together and get packed away never to be seen again.

Some things I knew I was missing.... some things I didn't.

I'd been searching for the collaborative artworks that Tinniegirl and I created above, ever since I moved. I remembered wrapping them in tissue paper so that they'd be safe and sound..... but I hadn't seen them since.

I'd forgotten about these sweet little vintage teacups that I found at the oppy. I'll be adding them to my treasure shelf today after I give them a little bit of a wash and a spruce up.

Ridiculous as it may seem. I'm also very happy that I found my sticky tape dispenser....

...along with some of my candleholders, candles, and the candle flame putter outer thingy (because I can't blow them out), some mobile phone accessories, my elephant snow globe, a bag of random screws and door handles, some command hooks, and copper boat figurines of course!

You see, sometimes it's the little things that make me happy.... now put your hands up if you packed that box!

Hearty Arty

I spied this most beautiful painting over at Little Black Crow Studio a couple of weeks ago....

I fell in love immediately, and it was completely stuck in my brain.

I enquired with Grace to find out whether it was for sale, and to my absolute delight, it was!

Now.... where shall I hang it ???

Irresistable...

On the premise that I was buying a birthday pressie for a friends daughter, I just couldn't resist this beautiful Tinniegirl collage.

But of course I'm keeping it for myself instead....

You can pick one up for yourself right here!

PS - If you need a customised stamp, Jemma has opened up an etsy shop.

Loot Glorious & Amazing Loot - Day 2

After an wonderful day out on Saturday, I headed back to Tinniegirls house for a lovely cup of tea...

...only to find, that apparently, my birthday celebrations were yet to end.

I needed some artworks for my new house...

....and I received these amazing Tinniegirl collages for my birthday

...with beautiful details
This one is my 'determined angel'

Thankyou so much Cathy - I'm flabbergasted at how much more special it is to receive a gift that has been handmade by a wonderful friend who has put so much time and effort into making something just for me, and that completely matches my style and taste.

I can't wait to find a special place for my new artworks in my new home (it's no longer just a house)....

More Loot Glorious Loot!

Crafty Collaborations and a Blogtoberfest Giveaway

Way back in August, I brought home these collaged canvas backgrounds that Cathy had made, with the intention of making my own collage for the wall......and as per usual, with my procrastinating ways...they've been sitting in my craft cupboard ever since!

Yesterday was the perfect opportunity to take them for a drive all the way back to where they originated to finally be finished....

I didn't quite finish them yesterday, so today I gave them a quick coat of acrylic varnish and glued some purple ribbon around the edges so that now they're ready to be hung.

Now onto the very important part of the post....a giveaway!

The prize will include a 15cm x 15cm piece of lino, a 5 inch x 5 inch artists canvas, and some patterned papers so that you can make your own mini collage.

Once I sell my house and find myself a new house, I'm going to be hanging these in a prominent position in the living room so I need to have the perfect combination....

To win, all you need to do is leave me a comment and tell me whether you like from left to right - Number 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5.
I will draw a winner next Wednesday night (29th Oct) Melbourne time....

Paper + Glue + Lino + Paint + Food = Fun

I had such a lovely crafty day out today...the time absolutely flew past and before we knew it, we'd cut and printed and painted and glued and eaten lots of yummy food, and then it was time to pack up and make our way home......

I managed to finish two small lino cuts..... the first with some flowers and leaves (of which I've completely forgotten to take a photo) and the second is this star print. I clearly need to work on the amount of paint I'm putting on the print!

Thess are Serena's mushroom and bunny prints (using ezycarve printing blocks)....they didn't work so well with paint but they're fabulous with ink.... hopefully she will have time to post some photos tomorrow.

There was a bit of doiley painting action happening..... and Cathy made some absolutely divine collages (no photos yet...not quite finished)

and another lovely flower lino print and a couple of gorgeous mini collages by Serena...

....potato print on calico by Juddie (not a great photo but this looks fab in real life). I missed getting a photo of Juddie's print cuts...she made a beautiful christmas bauble using ezycarve printing blocks...

We had the most amazing home made pizza for lunch...yum!

This is a sneaky peek of my work in progress collages. I'm going to finish them off tomorrow.

Thankyou so much Cathy for letting us bombard you and your house with all of our crafty mess...and thanks to Ms L for putting up with us too (he he he)!

And I should have included a Smencil link in my last post!
