Just in time for.....errrrr Spring?

It's taken me quite a while but I finally finished this scarf for my little sister....... I think the weather will stay cold for a little while yet so she might actually be able to use it this year.

I think this is scarf number seven. I've lost count. One of these days, I'm actually going to sit down and tackle one of the knitting patterns that Jess sent me. Another one to add to the 'To Do' list!

Also found something interesting in the paper today.....check out this article

Friends!

I went out for lunch again today with some friends that I used to work with........ and I received a lovely gift all wrapped up in floral paper. When I opened it, it was this gorgeous multicoloured handknitted scarf!

The lovely knitter and I worked together for eleven and a half years.......and I had no idea that she could knit! She whipped this up for me on the weekend while sitting in front of the fire (it was very chilly in Melbourne last weekend).

We sat outside at Villa & Hut for lunch and I was lovely and toasty and warm with my new scarf around my neck. Thankyou Chrissy, I absolutely love it!

This is........My Collection....

I’m playing along with the 'This is' meme which has been created by Three Buttons (click over to her blog to see who else is playing along). This weeks theme from Hyena in Petticoats is ‘This is …..my collection'.

I had to think long and hard about this one. I don’t actually collect anything on purpose, but upon closer inspection around my house, I found lots of scary collections (so much for my de-cluttering efforts).

My biggest collection would have to be craft supplies. I don’t have a separate craft room to keep them in. My craft room is also the office / study / computer room so it has to actually be kept to a certain standard of neatness (even If that is a very low standard of neatness).

This photo is the cupboard (built in robe) in the tv room. My boyfriends uncle made me the two shelving units. They're on castors so I can wheel them out of the cupboard to wherever I need them (quite ingenious). In this cupboard I have:

Acrylic paints, Oil Paints, Watercolour Paints, Derwent Pencils, Oil Pastels, Various varnishes and Crackle Glazes, Coloured Paper, String, Wool, Fabric, Glitter, Glue, Various Paintbrushes, Beads, Jewellery Making Supplies, Wire Jig, Photo Frames, Pebbles, Pipe Cleaners, Fuzzy Balls, Mosaic Tiles, Broken Tiles, Tile adhesive, Grout, and a Flower Press.

This photo is my half a craft room:

This is where I keep all of my sewing supplies. I have a bookshelf, a pantry unit and some drawers on wheels and I still run out of room. I have coloured paper, cardboard, stamps, paper cutting rulers, cutting mats, scrapbooking supplies, fabric, ribbon, ric rac, sequins, snaps, snap setter, beaded trim, cotton, adhesives, rotary cutters, various scissors, ironing board, tapestry cottons, templates, quilting rulers etc etc etc. I even keep household items that may be useful for crafts such as egg cartons, ice cream containers and even the cardboard inners from wrapping paper / glad wrap & foil (I draw the line at empty loo roll tubes). I also have a couple of bags of pine cones in case I want to make some more Christmas decorations.

The other collection that I didn’t even realize that I had is scarves. It wasn’t until I counted that I realized that I had 16. Before this coming winter I am going to buy a handknitted scarf from Greenolive. I love the texture and colour of all of them but I will have to limit myself to 2. I want this one and this one.

This one is my favourite scarf. I'm not sure where it's from. I was at work one day and one of the girls at work gave it to me as a pressie because she saw it in a shop and thought that I would love it (and she was absolutely correct)!
