treasures 20

Mona Pendleton | Wednesday, March 30, 2016 @ 7:00 PM | , , , , , , ,

Hi there! Today it's my turn to share an art journaling project on the Prima blogI was really inspired to create a couple of art journal pages featuring beautiful paper clay designs made from the iron orchid decor-Vintage Art Décor Moulds along with a variety of other fab Prima products.
I started with a collaged background using an assortment of pretty papers from the Salvage District Collection then added lots of texture using white crackle paste along with the netting stencil. Once the pages were dry, I randomly applied a variety of products including: Color Bloom Sprays, Mica powder and acrylic paint.

Here's a visual of many of the products used to create these art journal pages:
For color inspiration, I joined along with the March Prima Product pick.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed my projects. Please be sure to visit the Prima blog for loads of awesome inspiration!

Love...Prima Product Pick challenge 17

Mona Pendleton | Monday, November 2, 2015 @ 9:28 AM | , , , , , ,

Hi there! Happy November! A new month means there's two new monthly challenges up on the Prima blog. Today I have a layout to share for the November Prima Product Pick challenge:
I created a mixed media style layout featuring a couple photos of sweet Meredith and Griffin along with a variety of Prima Color Bloom Sprays and dimension.
This month's color palette is so fun and cheerful! I focused on the shade of blue while adding a hint of the other colors to the background then embellishing with a variety of pretty flowers.

For sketch inspiration, I referred to Prima's November Build A Page sketch challenge:
Thanks so much for visiting ~ I hope you have enjoyed my layout and are inspired to join along! Please be sure to stop by the Prima blog and see the awesome DT inspiration!

MOMENTS...Prima Day! 52

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, October 17, 2015 @ 6:00 AM | , , , ,

Hi there! Today on the Prima blog, we are all celebrating Prima Day! A day filled with TONS of inspiration just for you! So grab your paper, flowers, and glue and have some fun with us as we travel around the world. Many of the design team members are showcasing newly created projects on their social media, so join the fun, hop around, and be inspired!

We were asked to create a tag featuring a fabulous Relics and Artifacts item.  I chose to feature a small statue from the Archival Cast Milagros set.
I combined a variety of items such as: Cling Stamps, Mica Powders, Glass Beads and Vintage Trinkets:

Hi there! Today I'm sharing this tag on the Prima blog. I created a steampunk style tag using an assortment of beautiful and shimmery Mica Powders along with a variety of fun embellishments.
I created this tag for my dear son Jerry who is in the process of completing his flight training in order to obtain his private pilot's license. He has passed his solo flight and now is preparing for the next phase.
For the focal point, I adhered a pair of metal trinket goggles to the fun resin face flower:
For shimmery goodness, I mixed the following Mica Powders with Soft Matte Gel: Gold, Rust, Frozen Lake then randomly applied to a couple embellishments as well as the background:

Think Pink 29

Mona Pendleton | Friday, October 2, 2015 @ 6:48 AM | , , , , ,

Hi there! October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and Prima click HERE is going PINK, along with millions of others, to help spread the word! Sharon asked me if I'd like to share anything personal regarding breast cancer, here's my response: I think many of us have known or knows someone who is battling breast cancer. Breast cancer or any cancer for that matter does not discriminate. As a RN, I have worked in the Oncology Unit for several years witnessing first hand the toll cancer takes on people's lives. I've lost a couple of girlfriends to breast cancer and have many that are survivors. Working as a RN in the Operating Room for the past 17 years, I've taken care of both male and female patients dealing with breast cancer as young as 18 years old. Needless to say, breast cancer has touched my life in so many ways, how about you?
I love the color pink and in celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness month,I created a couple of cards. The first one up features a die cut pink bra surrounded with a variety of pink flowers:
The backgrounds were created with shades of pretty pink art ingredients and Color Bloom Sprays:

The second card was made using many of the same Prima products with the exception of the fun stencil that was used to create the textured background:
Lots of fun layers:
I'm entering the second card in the paper players sketch challenge as well as the current Words 2 Scrap By where the theme is Fight Like A Girl in celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Please be sure to stop by the Prima blog for additional inspiration!
