Hi there! Today I have a mixed media style Christmas decorative hanging to share featuring a pair of shimmery angel wings. I'm joining along with this month's Stamps and Stencils challenge where the challenge is to create something using pastels:
To create the background, I used a stencil and texture paste. Once dry, I misted with various inks and sprays. I topped off the hanging with a stamped sentiment:
I'm also joining along with the CAS-ual Fridays challenge: Anything but a Card:

I was inspired to create a mixed media home decor wall hanging:
I love to decorate my home with various homemade projects so I took advantage of this challenge to create a mixed media wall hanging:
Using a variety of Distress Stain Sprays, I created an inky Trellis Framework textured background:

I embellished with a trio of die cut Tattered Pinecone blossoms and Garden Greens:
and a crackled Caged Bird:
For the sentiment, I used a fun Big Chat Sticker:

Hi there! Today I have a few projects to share featuring pretty Pion Design papers from the newly released Days of Winter collection. First up is a snowflake shaped wooden holiday hanging which features a beautiful image from From Grandma's Attic ~ tinted. I was thrilled to find the snowflake on clearance at a local for store for only $1! I altered it with some white gesso, crackle paint and glitter flakes:
All the die cut circles were made using a variety of Spellbinders dies and the sentiment is from  MFT Starry Christmas:
I finished it off with a few die cut sprigs and several flowers from my stash:
Next up is a card featuring a pretty image from Days of Winter:
I framed the image in a die cut rectangle then topped off with a die cut snowflake:
For the card sketch inspiration, I joined along with the Try Stampin' On Tuesday sketch challenge:
Many thanks for visiting!

Happy Holidays 30

Mona Pendleton | Friday, July 25, 2014 @ 2:20 PM | , , , , ,

Hi there! I'm here today to celebrate Christmas in July! Yesterday, Pion Design revealed the release of their newest collection ~ Days of WinterIn Pion's words ~ "Days of Winter is a collection capturing the essence of Winter and Christmas inspired by a snow-covered village of old times. With images and patterns of ice skaters on a frozen lake, calming walks through a silent landscape, delicate snowflakes, Christmas trees and Winter birds you will be given the opportunity to pass on the holiday spirit to all those precious to you."

When I received the box full of this beautiful collection, I couldn't wait to create! I made a holiday themed wall hanging featuring a gorgeous image from Lilly and Siri:
I combined the beautiful image with several layers other pretty papers from the Days of Winter collection then layered all on top of a piece of cut to size corrugated cardboard. I heat embossed enamel along the edges to create a snowy / frosted look:
I embellished with a few die cut pieces of foliage, doily, snowflakes and a variety of flowers from my stash. The sentiment is from Starry Christmas:
I am entering this in the current Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge where the challenge is to feature some sort of embossing on your project.

Many thanks for visiting ~ I hope you enjoy your weekend!

Hi there! I hope you enjoyed your weekend! It's time for an all new Simon Says Stamp Monday ChallengeDT member Dan would like to put some magic into our challenge this week ~ will you accept? Whether you have a magician's trick, want to shw us a cord trick, have a magical product you can't work without, or perhaps are inspired by a story or movie that has magical elements ~ we can't wait to see! The magic of this challenge is that you can be inspired any way you like!
I created some magic using Distress embossing powder:
I think there is something magical about Vintage Photo Distress embossing powder.
I'm always in awe with the rusty aged metal appearance that may be easily achieved in just a few steps by layering Rusty Hinge Distress Paint, Distress embossing ink and Vintage Photo Distress embossing powder. Quite magical don't you think?
Thanks so much for stopping by! Please be sure to visit the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog to see what the rest of the DT has created!

Hi there! I hope you had a great weekend! It's time for an all new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! Suzanne is in the mood for flowers so it got May thinking about all of the really great botanical patterns from Tim Holtz, butterflies floating around the warm spring sunshine and flowers just waiting to bloom. So what are you waiting for? Find your botanical bliss and join us!
I was inspired to create a wall hanging feature a flower garden scene.
Living in the desert heat in Arizona, I don't have much of a flower garden but I sure had one in my mind that I couldn't wait to put in art form. I die cut a piece of Grungeboard using the Vintage Cabinet Card die, applied a layer of Gesso, allowed to dry then stamped and heat embossed the beautiful botanical image from Fairytale Frenzy
To make the embossed image pop, I applied various Distress Inks
A flower garden wouldn't be complete without a white fence so I used the Lattice die to cut a piece of Grungeboard which I applied Picket Fence Distress Paint as well as a coat of Rock Candy
My imagination went running wild with the Botanical Bliss theme which inspired me to add a trio of die blooms that were made using the Tattered Pinecone die.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Please be sure to visit the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog to see what the rest of the DT has created!
Be Sweet ;)
