A Camellia Trio...WMS August Release Waltz 81

Mona Pendleton | Friday, August 24, 2012 @ 11:00 AM | , ,

Hi there! Welcome to the Waltzingmouse Stamps August Waltz! Today, Claire will be releasing all of the following 9 stamp sets: Light of the World Sentiments, Bright Season, Little Lanterns, Vintage Garden Flowers, Vintage Garden Produce, Camellia, Opera Tags, Vintage Garden Apple blossom Seeds and Vintage Seed Packet in the WMS store. You should have arrived from Belinda's blog, if not you can head on over to Claire's blog where the celebration began and for complete details.

Today I am sharing three rather Clean And Simple cards featuring a combination of stamps from both Camellia and Vintage Seed Packet. I do LOVE alls the bells and whistles but I wanted to showcase one of the many beautiful blossoms and leaves from the Camellia set. No patterned papers, no bows, no buttons, not even one homemade flower!!! No extra postage required to mail this set.

Each blossom is layered on a different Die-namics doily as well as dry embossed backgrounds made using various Sizzix embossing folders. Each card also features a different sentiment.

The card below features a Camellia blossom stamped on a piece of Sno Cone cardstock layered on a Die-namics Dainty Doily DUO die cut and the sentiment is from Vintage Seed Packet.
I stamped the beautiful Camellia blossom and leaves using VersaMark ink, embossed with fine white embossing powder then trimmed around the edges with a sharp scissors. Here's a close up showing how all the fine detail seems to come to life when heat embossed:
The next card up features a Camellia blossom stamped on a piece of Grapesicle cardstock layered on a Die-namics Dizzy Doily die cut and the sentiment is from Vintage Seed Packet.
and my third card features a Camellia blossom stamped on a piece of Pink Lemonade cardstock layered on a Die-namics Open Scallop Doily DUO die cut and the sentiment is from Camellia
Thanks so much for visiting! To continue with the waltz, please be sure to visit Bonnie's blog.

Don't be afraid...WMS August Previews Day 3 53

Mona Pendleton | Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 1:00 AM | , ,

Hi there dear blogging friends! Welcome to Day 3 of the August Waltzingmouse Stamps Previews! Today, Claire and many of the DT members are sharing projects featuring Little Lanterns, Bright Season and Light of the World Sentiments.

I made a card featuring combining Little Lanterns and Light of the World Sentiments.
Both of these sentiments are jam packed with many images that may be easily mixed and matched!
To create my card, I stamped the elegant lantern and candle from  Little Lanterns using VersaMark ink, embossed using fine white embossing powder then stamped the candle glow using SU Barely Banana ink. I stamped one of the many sentiments from Light of the World Sentiments next to the lantern.
I created a window using a Die-namics Designer Labels 2 STAX die then I stamped the Shine sentiment on the underlying piece of MFT Heavyweight Cardstock Whip Cream.
For sketch inspiration, I played along with the current Unscripted Sketches challenge:
Please be sure to stop by the following designers blogs to see what they have created: Anya Schrier, Becca Feeken, Belinda Chang Langner, Bonnie Sharp, Clare Buswell, Julia AstonJennifer Holmes, Kelly Schirmer, Laurie Schmidlin, Lynn Mercurio, Mona Pendleton (that's me), Sandie Dunne, Sarah Martina Parker, Tosha Leyendekker and Claire Brennan (Owner).

Happy Birthday Mother...WMSC13 57

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, September 4, 2010 @ 12:00 AM | , ,

Hi Friends! Time for another Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge! Thanks to all who played along last week, there were once again so many gorgeous projects!I made this card for my Mother-In-Law, Barbara, who will be celebrating her 79th Birthday on September 10th. I pulled out both the LF-127 Grand Scalloped Squares & the LF-126 Grand Squares die templates to create the 1st mat of the card then using the S4-127 Classic Scalloped Squares LG, S4-129 Classic Scalloped Squares SM, S4-126 Classic Squares LG, S4-128 Classic Squares SM die templates, I cut/embossed the additional two smaller layers. Using a sponge dauber, I inked the edges, adhered all the mats then stitched them together.I am lovin' all the beautiful images in the Roses In Bloom set! I inked up & stamped the medium size rose bloom & smaller leaf, then colored them using the following Copic Markers: combination: B00 Frost Blue, BG11 Moon White, BG13 Mint Green, BG18 Teal Blue, G99 Olive & YG95 Pale Olive. After coloring the images, I cut them out then attached them to the card using a yellow pearl brad.Of course I had to make a lil' tag using the S4-081 Tags Five die template ;) I pulled out the Afternoon Tea Sentiments set & stamped the sweet with LOVE sentiment & added a few lil' flourishes & teensy weensy pearls.

My family & I are not traveling this weekend, just hanging around at home :) Do you have any BIG weekend plans? Thanks so much for looking - Be Sweet!

Witchy Wishes...WMSC12 30

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, August 28, 2010 @ 12:00 AM | , ,

Hi There :) Another week has flown by, Saturday again & time for another Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge! Here is my take on this week's fun sketch: I spotted this fun Echo Park Halloween themed paper at my LSS & fell in love with those big multi-colored polka dots & the funky font. I have been wanting to create something using the neat Wanda's Brew image from the Waltzingmouse Wanda's Pantry set so I snatched this paper up & skipped out the store! You know how much I love to make lil' tags - well, I inked up the lil' Happy Halloween sentiment & created a tag using the teensy S4-190 Labels Four die template.

I took the liberty & flipped the sketch horizontallyAs you can see up close, how nicely the S4-190 Labels Four die template fits around Wanda & all that neat verbage :)What do you think of that Ric Rac border? I made that using the S4-243 Ric Rac Diamond Borderabilities® Petite die template. One of the many things I love about the Spellbinders™ Borderabilities® besides the ability to cut, emboss & stencil is the fact that they cut your cardstock flawlessly without jamming up like so many hand held border punches of mine do! grrr.... I don't know about you, but it really makes my blood boil when my precious piece of cardstock gets jammed & chewed up in a punch! So if you are looking for an alternative for making borders...I'm just sayin' :)

That's all I have for today! Thanks for looking & I hope you enjoy your weekend :)

If you find some crafty time, please feel free join along with this week's sketch challenge. with Love...WMSC11 68

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, August 21, 2010 @ 12:00 AM | , , ,

Hi There! Thanks so much to all who played along with last week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge! So many fabulous projects! Here today with an all new sketch:Rather than making a card, I made a lil' home decoration wall hanging for my dear sister, Tina who takes care of my fur babies while I am out of town using the new Spellbinders™ Grand Nestabilities® LF-114 Grand Circles and LF-124 Grand Scalloped Circles die templates.I had so much fun playing with this sketch! I took advantage of all that space & filled it up with some of my favorite things :) First, I stamped the sweet image that reads NO MATTER WHAT I HAVE TO DO MY FRIEND THERE'S ALWAYS time for you then worked my way around.I stamped the lil' with LOVE image from the Afternoon Tea Sentiments set then adhered a Melissa Frances decorative frame on top of it. Can you see the aged, crackled effect the crown & pocket watch? All you have to do is brush on some Tim Holtz Rock Candy, wait a few minutes & voila! The crackled effect appears like magic!
Tina crochets so many fleurettes for me to use on my projects :) I asked her for a large one & this is what she whipped up with her needle - what do youth think?

I hope you can join along with this week's sketch challenge. After you have made your project, please head on over to The Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge site & link your post. Season's Greetings 37

Mona Pendleton | Wednesday, August 18, 2010 @ 10:13 AM | , ,

Happy Wednesday! I have been having making Christmas cards - have you started yet? I have another one to share today using the Christmas Past Collection from Graphic 45.

This week over at the create blog, Paige has challenged all of us paper-crafters to create some handmade flowers so I pulled out the Spellbinders™ S4-219 Nested Poinsettias die templates & made a lil' Poinsettia to showcase on my card. For sketch inspiration, I played along with the girls over at Card Patterns. Please be sure to visit the site & see all the wonderful samples of inspiration :).I tried something to showcase the Season's GREETINGS sentiment. While cutting/embossing the Very Vintage Labels No.2 image, along with a S4-162 Labels Two die template, I centered & adhered a S4-112 Classic Ovals SM die template to create a window, then I popped up the frame with some 3D Foam Squares to add a bit of dimension. Thanks for looking! Have a great day!

Supplies Used:

Spellbinders™ Nestabilities® S4-162 Labels Two, S4-219 Nested Poinsettias, S4-112 Classic Ovals SM, S4-242 Big Scalloped Borderabilities® Petite, GC-001 Grand Calibur

So Vintage - Shabby Chic 81

Mona Pendleton | Tuesday, August 17, 2010 @ 12:00 AM | , ,

Hi There! Here today for the Friends of Waltzingmouse Stamps August Blog Waltz. This month Claire challenged us all to create a project based on a Vintage-Shabby Chic theme (as you probably have guessed this happens to be my fave :) For complete Waltz details please visit the The Play Room. Here is my Vintage-Shabby Chic card full of FRUIT:
Lovin' the new Spellbinders™ S4-297 Nested Crowns die templates, I made a crown frame to use as the focal point. Inside the crown frame, I stamped the arrow image from the Sweethearts set, adhered a decorative sanded foil heart made from a S4-296 Nested Hearts die template then popped a lil' Melissa Frances keyhole embellishment on top.

I love the shimmer & all the detail in that lil' heart - it seems to fit perfectly over that arrow!

To make this lil' tag, I stamped a few images from the Very Vintage Labels No. 4
set followed with stamping the "with love" sentiment from the Victorian Frippery set then, using a S4-190 Labels Four die template, I cut/embossed the tag.

That's all I have for today - off to waltz! Can't wait to see what you may have created for the Waltz :)

Thanks for looking! Be Sweet :)

Supplies Used:

Waltzingmouse Stamps: Very Vintage Labels No. 4, Victorian Frippery, Sweethearts

Spellbinders™ Grand Nestabilities® LF-161 Grand Labels One, Nestabilities® S4-190 Labels Four, Shapeabilities® S4-297 Nested Crowns, S4-296 Nested Hearts, GC-001 Grand Calibur

Christmas Wishes 34

Mona Pendleton | Monday, August 16, 2010 @ 11:29 AM | , ,

Hi There! I was a little bummed that I missed the whole "Christmas in July" celebration so I am going to try to make up for some lost time & get busy with Christmas card making.I couldn't resist the gorgeous Vintage K&Company sticker & lil' paper packs when I made a trip to my local craft store & it doesn't help when everything seems to be 40% off!!! LOL For sketch inspiration, I played along with Kazan's awesome sketch over at 2Sketches4You -

This card was super easy to make because all the papers are coordinate along with the stickers! How easy is that? All I had to do was mount the sticker on a frame made from a S4-256 Big Scalloped Rectangles SM die template, ink the edges, cut/emboss a scalloped edge using a S4-239 Classic Scalloped Borderabilities® Petite die template hand stitch it on, tie a bow & add a pearl.

I inked up the Christmas Wishes sentiment from the Waltzingmouse Stamps Oven Fresh Gingerbread Joy Stamp Set and added the little scroll images from the Very Vintage Christmas stamp set. To finish it off, I stitched on a few buttons.

That's all I have for today. Thanks so much for looking! Have a great day :)

REMEMBER: I will be back tomorrow Tuesday, August 17th for the Friends of Waltzingmouse Stamps August Blog Waltz! I hope you will be joining along :)
