Hi there! I hope you had a great weekend! Stamptember is in full swing over at Simon Says Stamp and I really hope you'll join us for a month long stamp party full of inspiration and celebrations. It's time for an all new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week we are having a blog hop starting with Andrea's blog and the challenge theme is: to use a Simon Says Stamp exclusive product (s):

For my projects, I made a couple tags featuring a variety of Simon Says Stamp Exclusive products. The background texture on the tag shown below, was created using the DIAMOND CIRCLES stencil:
Including the following: beautiful stamped butterflies from Butterfly Friends and coordinating dies:
a delicate DANVILLE WREATH:
Next up is another tag featuring even more Simon Says Stamp Exclusive products!
The textured background was created using the BLOCKED CIRCLES stencil:
I embellished with a stamped butterfly from Butterfly Friends along with a LARGE HEART DOILY:
Here's how I created the backgrounds:

Step 1: Apply Texture Paste using the DIAMOND CIRCLES and BLOCKED CIRCLES stencils:
Step 2: Allow to dry then add colors of choice using Distress Stains and water:

Simon Says Stamp was founded in 2002 with an interest in exclusively selling rubber stamps. It didn’t take long until we realized we couldn’t stop there. For more than 10 years we have celebrated rubber stamping and its glory. We work to bring companies from around the world together in a one stop shopping environment. Rubber stamps still remain the heart of our business and we are celebrating by hosting a “STAMPtember®" event intended to inspire, educate, and celebrate the delight of rubber stamping. Part of the enticement of rubber stamping is that stamps can be used in creating or complementing ANYTHING! From stamping dates on bank documents and postage parcels in the early 18th century, rubber stamping has dramatically expanded to include card making, scrapbooking, mixed media and many forms of altering and expressing art.

Many thanks for stopping by! If you are hopping along, please be sure to visit Sandra as well as the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog to begin the hop.

Hi there! Hope you had a great weekend! It's time for an all new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! For this week's challenge, Anna-Karin suggested a challenge where we make our own flowers. May got to thinking and came up with the idea that we make some project element from scratch. Something oh so very homemade? It could be an embellishment with layers, a rosette, a flower or perhaps you build something or other wise craft a piece by starting with little more than simple paper or other raw materials. What will you make from scratch?
I was inspired to create a homemade flower to embellish a tag (or three ;):
I enjoy making my own die cut flowers especially roses made using the Tattered Pinecone die as well as a homemade heart:
I was having so much fun, I couldn't stop there and created two more tags embellishing with a homemade heart and PEDIMENTS embellishment:
For added interest and design, I applied crackle paint along with TEA DYE ink to the die cut pediments, hearts:
and butterfly embellishment:
Each tag features a different stamped sentiment from the SIMPLE SAYINGS stamp set:

Hi there!  It's time for an all new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! Thanks to all who joined along with last week's challenge! Seems as though stencils are all the rage and we've noticed an increasing variety of paste mediums to go along. This week, we challenge you to get our your paste or stencils and make some texture on your project! Whether you're a  fan of gel mediums or embossing pastes, using gesso and a stencil to make texture or you just love "pasting" bits of paper together "decoupage style" ~ let's see what you can do!

I was inspired to create a mixed media tag featuring lots of texture that was created using the Tim Holtz Bubble Stencil along with Liquitex modeling paste:
I also added texture on the die cut Mini Butterfly:
After creating the colorful, textured background, I topped the tag off with a beautiful blossom that was made using Heartfelt Creations Vintage Floret along with the coordinating Heartfelt Creations Spellbinders Vintage Floret dies:
Many thanks for stopping by! Please be sure to visit the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog to see what the rest of the DT has created!

Merry Christmas 41

Mona Pendleton | Sunday, December 8, 2013 @ 10:01 PM | , ,

Hi there! I hope you had a fantastic weekend! It was a little chilly here in the desert which makes for the perfect hiking weather :) Today we are celebrating Scott's (DH) birthday ~ I think he turned 29 AGAIN ;) It's Monday so that means it's time for an all new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week's challenge is all about Tissue Paper!

I was inspired to create a few tags featuring delicate tissue paper die cut snowflake rosettes.
I covered a couple of die cut tags using tissue paper. For the first tag, I added texture and design using a Flourish stencil and modeling paste. Once dry, I colorized using Broken China and Crushed Olive Distress Inks. I embellished the tag with a beautiful tissue paper die cut snowflake rosette and a Fanciful button.
I completed the tag with a sentiment from Simon Says Clear Stamps Holiday Labels:
The second tag is similar yet very different! For texture and design, I used the Mini Harlequin Template and modeling paste. Once dry, I colorized using Spun Sugar and Broken China Distress inks. I embellished the tag with a beautiful tissue paper die cut snowflake rosette and a Fanciful button.
I completed the tag with a sentiment from Simon Says Clear Stamps Holiday Labels:
Many thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you like my tags!

Merry Christmas 44

Hi there! Welcome to the June MFT Design Team Creative Challenge! Just in case you are not familiar, the MFT Design Team Creative Challenge is a monthly feature, where we are challenged to explore our creative side using a specific theme, product, or technique. This month, we are creating Projects that Warm the Heart.
I created a couple of tags to adorn the gift packaging that contain homemade baked goodies inside for my dear sister, Tina and DH, Scott. They were made with LOTS of love and from the heart :)

First up is a mixed media burlap tag that was die cut using one of the many versatile dies from the Die-namics Blueprints 9 set.
Once I die cut the burlap paper, I applied a coat of Gesso, added texture and design using the Petal Circles stencil. I added a variety of inks and paint then randomly stamped the text image from Collage Backgrounds.
I topped it off with a pink lemonade die cut Poinsettia and a sentiment from Starry Christmas:
Next up is die cut burlap tag that was made using a Die-namics Decorative Circle Tag STAX die and a store bought treat box that I stamped using the Sheet Music Background stamp:
Once I die cut the burlap tag, I applied a coat of Gesso, stamped the Sheet Music Background then splashed on MIX-ables Steel Shimmer Mist. I topped it off with a die cut wreath and sentiment from Starry Christmas:
I also made a holiday painting that will hopefully warm the hearts of my holiday company. I recently took an online course ~ How To Paint An Owl 2 taught by the talented Juliette Crane so I wanted to incorporate one of my hooties for the creative challenge.
After painting the owl, I added design to the background using the Petal Circles Stencil then randomly stamped and heat embossed snowflakes from Sophisticated Snowflakes:
I adhered a die cut heart that was made using Die-namics Hearts a Plenty die to her belly then outlined and stamped using the polka dot stamp from Distressed Background Blocks
For the title, I stamped one of the sentiments from Starry Christmas then randomly stamped the chicken wire stamp from Distressed Background Blocks:
I think these goodies will warm my loved ones hearts :) Thanks so much for visiting ~ I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday if you celebrate and if not, have a great day regardless! Please be sure to check out the MFT Blog for a list of all the designers who will be warming your heart today!
Be Sweet ;)
