Here's my interpretation:
My tag features a die cut chipboard female deer (doe) that I embossed with pretty gold embossing powder. The tag was stamped/heat embossed using PTI snowflake stamps then inked using Distress Inks.
I also made another similar tag featuring a male deer (buck):
Love all the shimmer and shine in the gold embossing powder:

Autumn wishes 22

Mona Pendleton | Tuesday, October 18, 2016 @ 9:57 AM | , , , , ,

Hi there! Today I'm sharing an autumn themed project that I was inspired by the beautiful color palette for the October Prima's Product Pick challenge:
I created a mixed media style tag which features a variety of Prima products including: texture, pretty embellishments and lots of shimmery details:
I made the pumpkin using chipboard and steel bladed dies, assembled then applied Prima crackle texture paste. For a bit of shimmer, I applied Prima Metallique Gold Rush acrylic paint. I embellished with various Prima flowers, a resin owl and glittery gold leaves:
To create the background, I applied a coat of Prima white gesso once dry, I added texture using a Prima stencil and Prima texture paste. After that layer was dry, I adhered Prima pebbles and Prima Roman numeral embellishments. For color, I painted on Prima purple mica powder:
For the final step, I splashed on the following Prima products: white gesso, Metallique Pink Blush and  Metallique Gold Rush acrylic paints:
I'm also joining along with the current Curtain Call Inspiration challenge where the theme is Glittery Gourds:
and I'm linking to this week's Paint Party Friday site:
Many thanks for stopping by!

Grungy goodness 23

Mona Pendleton | Friday, April 8, 2016 @ 10:24 PM | , , ,

Hi! I hope you are all having a great weekend! It's my turn to share a project on the Prima blog featuring products from Finnabair's new release. The product line is simply amazing! And what a selection of mixed-media items it offered. From shimmery Art Alchemy Acrylic Paints to Sculpture Medium, Rust Paste to alterable flowers and fabric...there's something for everyone!
I was inspired to create a shimmery textured tag featuring a variety of the new Finnabair art products. “I love all the rich color and depth that can be easily achieved using the Finnabair art products.”

Here's a glimpse of just a few products that I used to create this tag:
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed my projects. Please be sure to visit the Prima blog for loads of awesome inspiration!

know in your heart you are loved 23

Mona Pendleton | Wednesday, April 6, 2016 @ 11:00 PM | , , , , , ,

Hi! Today I'm very excited to share with you that I am honored to have been invited to join along with the entire talented Frilly and Funkie DT as their guest designer for the current challenge over at the Frilly and Funkie challenge blog site! Thank you ladies for inviting me to join along in the fun!

The current Challenge Theme is: Boy oh Boy!

Description: Create a vintage or shabby chic project with a man in mind. Let's see those male themed creations come to life.

For my sample, I was inspired to create my dear husband Scott a rusty textured steampunk tag to remind him how much I love him.
To get the rusty look, I applied a variety of ColourArte Acrylic Silks over all the embellishments and textured background that had been painted with Black Gesso.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Again, I'd like to thank the ladies for inviting me to join along in the fun! Please be sure to visit the Frilly and Funkie site for loads of inspiration from the DT and to join along in the fun!

EXHIBIT A 39

Mona Pendleton | Monday, March 14, 2016 @ 8:14 PM | , , , , , ,

Hi there! I had the itch to stamp so I pulled out a Tim Holtz stamp set that may have been inked once over a year ago! I've been trying to be resourceful and use what I have already in my stash. I created a mixed media style tag featuring a trio of double layered heat embossed butterflies:
For the tag shape, I used a Spellbinders Grand die to cut a piece of upcycled corrugated cardboard which I applied some crackled texture paste to:
Once the crackled texture paste worked its' magic, various Distress Stains were randomly applied. I embellished with a piece of lace from my stash, the stamped butterflies and metal trinkets which I gave a faux enamel appearance using a combination of Distress Paint, Distress Stains and embossing powder:

I'm joining along with the following challenges: the Frilly and Funkie challenge where we are challenged to create a project featuring a trio of something: I featured a trio of butterflies as well as the Creative Carte Blanche where the creative adventure challenge is to create a project using lace, metal and corrugated paper:
Thanks so much for stopping by ~ I hope you have a great week!
