beauty & grace...a Pink Paislee project 38

Mona Pendleton | Friday, October 26, 2012 @ 5:00 AM | ,

Hi there! Today it's my turn to share a project on the Pink Paislee blog
My assignment was to use the fabulous sketch shown below for inspiration while focusing on the beautiful Spring Jubilee Collection.
To create this layout featuring sweet Meredith, I combined various products from the Spring Jubilee Collection including: Patterned Papers, Press Ons, Collage Cards, Shipping Tags and Bitty Blocks.
I die cut several beautiful shipping tags then added a few pretty press on butterflies that are so easy to apply and look AMAZING!
I added a little dimension with a few layered die cut embellishments. First up is a butterfly made using pretty Spring Jubilee patterned papers.
and a flower with fun patterned leaves.
Rather than hand writing a subtitle, I used the fun bitty blocks. They make it so easy to add a personal touch to any project!
Thanks so much for visiting! I hope you've enjoyed my layout featuring the pretty Spring Jubilee Collection.
Please be sure to visit the Pink Paislee blog for additional inspiration.
Be Sweet ;)

So Sweet...Guest Designing 36

Mona Pendleton | Wednesday, May 30, 2012 @ 8:36 PM | , ,

Hello! Here today to share the last two layouts of four that I made as the May Guest Designer for My Creative Scrapbook Kit Club using items from the Main Kit. First I would like to thank Pam Rangel, Owner of the My Creative Scrapbook Kit Club for the wonderful opportunity! The May Main Kit contains many pretty products from the Pink Paislee Spring Jubilee collection.

First up, is a layout featuring a pretty photo of sweet Meredith
surrounded by many flowers. The yellows ones shown below are included with the kit and the others were homemade by me using various punches.
My fourth and final layout shown below features a photo of my dear Great Niece, Madison and my four legged furry buddy, Griffin :) The decorative header and colorful bouquet on the tag are from the Spring Jubilee press on pack and all the butterflies are Spring Jubilee Chipboard Stickers  ~I  just love all the detail and color in those items which are all included in the Main Kit!
Thanks so much for looking! I hope you enjoyed my layouts. For complete details, please be sure to visit the My Creative Scrapbook Kit site and for inspiration, the My Creative Scrapbook Kit gallery. Be Sweet :)

Hello! Popping in to share one of the four layouts I made for my May Guest Designer position with My Creative Scrapbook Kit Club. This layout features sweet Meredith and pretty Pink Paislee paper from the Spring Jubilee collection which is from the Main May kit.
I combined manufactured flowers that are included in the May Main kit along with various homemade flowers made with cardstock and punches. One of the requirements for creating the projects for My Creative Scrapbook, was to only use punches ~ dies were not permitted. So I hauled in a box of punches from the garage and went to town punching away!
Thanks so much for visiting! Please be sure to check out My Creative Scrapbook for complete information. Be Sweet :)

A Pink Paislee Prom Dress... 56

Mona Pendleton | Thursday, April 5, 2012 @ 6:33 AM | , , ,

Hi there! I'm so excited to share with you a project that I made special for this week's Pink Paislee Spring Fling theme on the Pink Paislee blog! I would be tickled pink if you were to take a moment to come say hi :) click HERE
While I was out for a little retail therapy, I couldn't help but notice all the beautiful prom dresses on display. So many different styles to choose from: some long, some short, some simple, some frilly and elegant, etc... When I returned home and was looking at my "naked" dress form, I decided to dress her up with a simple, yet elegant Pink Paislee prom dress made using gorgeous products from the Spring Jubilee collection:
My sweetie worked his magic and made a short (less than 2 minutes) video to give you a 3D view:

After creating a pattern, I used the pretty patterned paper accordingly: Spring Jubilee ~ Festive for the bodice and smaller skirt pieces, Spring Jubilee ~ Party for the larger skirt pieces:
Spring Jubilee ~ Shindig for the rosettes, Spring Jubilee ~ Festive for the leaves and were cut using die templates from the Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms set:
Once the dress was complete, I adorned it with a few beautiful butterflies from the Spring Jubilee ~ Chipboard Stickers pack:
Thanks so much for visiting! I hope you have enjoyed my Spring themed project today :) For some more awesome Spring inspiration, please be sure to visit the Pink Paislee blog!

She Loved New Beginnings... 40

Mona Pendleton | Friday, March 30, 2012 @ 11:00 PM | , , , , ,

Hi there! Hope you are having a great weekend! Scott and I both had the day off from work Friday so we went to the movies to see The Hunger Games. It was a good movie but I have to admit, I prefer a good "chick flick" :) I had some "me" time so I made this page in my art journal using a variety of products, many from the Pink Paislee Spring Jubilee collection:
I gave my girl a long braid, (one of the many things I learned from taking Christy Tomlinson's She Art workshop) along with a painted posey:
The butterflies were cut out from a pretty piece of Spring Jubilee patterned paper. For a little texture, I added a few dots of puffy:
I tore a Collage Card from the Pink Paislee Spring Jubilee in half, adhered it to the page then layered ink, paint and rub ons on top of the patterned paper. I used a journaling pen to highlight the preprinted"spring was calling" sentiment:
I incorporated a lot of stamps from the Spring Jubilee including the beautiful butterfly / sentiment shown below on her dress:
For color inspiration, I played along with the current Colour Q Challenge:
Thanks so much for visiting ~ hope you have a wonderful weekend! Be Sweet :)

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Pink Paislee Spring Jubilee, Flower stamp and leaves from SU
Patterned Paper: Pink Paislee Spring Jubilee, Vintage Vogue

Hi there! It's been a busy weekend for my family! How about yours? Meredith had horse riding lessons early Saturday morning and while she rides, Tina and I get on average a 15-20 mile bike ride in. While I was with Meri, Scott was with Connor who had his first High School Track and Field Event. Here's a photo of Connor, (the one with the fro :), running the  4 x 100m relay:
and here's another of Connor while in action taking off the starting block:
The Track and Field event started at 10:00 am and lasted until to 7:00 pm. Meri and I met up with the boys at the event in the afternoon. It was a boat load of fun and excitement :)

It's time for week two of the CR84FN49 Color Challenge and we will be playing with the colors shown below:
I was inspired to pull out my art journal and make a She Art page:
I gave this girl an up do:
On this page, I had lots of fun doodling. I dug into my stash of stamps and pulled out two Stampin' Up stamp sets: Doodle This & Doodle That. I purchased the stamps probably ten years ago ~ one which never even kissed an ink pad! YIKES! I am so thankful I hung on to them because surely, I will ink them up again. I went a little wild with the white puffy paint:

Creative with Quotes (Pink Paislee She Art) 55

Mona Pendleton | Thursday, February 23, 2012 @ 6:30 AM | , , ,

Hi there! Today I am sharing a project that I created for the Pink Paislee blog based on this week's  theme "Creative with Quotes". I would be tickled pink if you would visit the Pink Paislee blog (click HERE) as well :)
I created a canvas using mainly products from the newly released Pink Paislee She Art collection designed by Mixed Media artist, Christy Tomlinson. The She Art - Truth paper is FULL of some of my favorite quotes including "She didn't care if it was perfect". I think as designers, painters, artists, crafters, etc... we need to remember that our projects don't NEED to be perfect. It's ok to make a mistake, it's an opportunity to learn. If you don't like something, simply paint over it! :)
The She Art collection contains so many products making it so easy to create a mixed media project and so much more! To create my girl's dress, I combined the Courage polk a dot design along with the Soar multicolored/patterned design. Using fun designs such as criss crosses, scallops and zig-zag stitches from the Press Ons Rub Ons Doodle Art Stitches.
I added a bit of dimension and texture using the Vintage Doily Mask along with molding paste. What a fun and wonderfully designed stencil don't you think? I also used Press Ons Artsy Textures which add another layer and fun patterns.
In case you are interested to see how I created this canvas, shown below are some of the steps taken along the way. First I cut various pieces of patterned She Art papers and adhered it to the canvas.
Using the Vintage Doily Mask as my pattern, I applied molding paste to add dimension and texture:
Once you fill in desired area of the stencil with molding paste, gently lift up and remove the stencil revealing the gorgeous design. Allow to dry completely.
Thanks so much for visiting! Hope you enjoyed my project :)
