a great adventure 25

Mona Pendleton | Thursday, July 16, 2015 @ 10:12 PM | , , , , , ,

Hi there! Today I have an art journal page to share that was inspired by the beautiful Hibiscus flowers here on Maui :) I brought a very limited number of supplies with me including a variety of ColourArte Twinkling H20s, Prima stamps, Prima White Gesso, Prima Modeling Paste, an assortment of stencils and my art journal. I like to try my crafty hands at anything creative, so I thought this trip would be a great time to play in my art journal having fun. Please keep in mind, I don't claim to be able to paint like Monet and I find it extremely challenging to draw faces but like to try regardless.
Here's what my initial sketch looked like before bringing her to life with beautiful ColourArte Twinkling H20s Shimmering Watercolors:
My girl kind of looks sad so my goal is to try to draw the next one with a much more cheerful expression :)
I randomly stamped the butterflies then added lots of texture using Prima White Gesso along with a couple different stencils:
For the sentiment, I used a Tim Holtz sticker with a few scribbles around it :)
I'm entering this page in the following challenges:
For color inspiration the Colour Me...! challenge

the Mixed Media World where the challenge is to create using Stencils
the Art it Friday ~ Show Your Face inspiration post.

Thanks so much for visiting :)
I hope you have a great weekend!
Be Sweet ;)

Mona Pendleton | Sunday, June 21, 2015 @ 2:56 AM | , , , , , ,

Hi there! Happy Father's Day to all the Father's out there! Today I have a card to share that I made for my dear husband Scott in celebration of Father's Day featuring a variety of beautiful ColourArte products.
I started out with fun patterned paper from the Prima Cartographer collection:
I added lots of texture and design using Prima modeling paste along with a Tim Holtz stencil.
Here are the pretty ColourArte products used: Radiant Gels Dimensional Paint Snap Dragon
Silks Acrylic Glaze ~ Forest Green, Caribbean Mist, Silver Bells
For the sentiment, I inked up a Hero Arts stamp from my stash:
I embellished the card with a trio of pretty flowers, metal findings and die cut leaves that were made using a Prima / Sizzix die:
For color inspiration, I joined along with the colour me colour challenge:
For sketch inspiration, I joined along with the Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge:
Thanks so much for stopping by ~ I hope you have a great day / evening!
Be Sweet ;)
