Cover Girl and A Featured Publication... 43

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, June 23, 2012 @ 12:07 AM | , , , ,

Hi there dear blogging friends! Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend! I am so excited and honored to share with you that I was recently a Cover Girl and featured in the awesome UK Magazine Simply Cards & papercraft Issue #98 that is jam packed with amazing monthly inspiration! I'm a firm believer that getting something published is like winning the paper crafting lottery!!!
The theme of the feature was to create 6 Birthday cards, 2 Easy, 2 Intermediate, 2 Advanced using Green, Purple and Turquoise while incorporating Stenciling as the technique.
I combined fun patterned paper from My Mind's Eye, dies from Spellbinders and stamps from Waltzingmouse and Donna Salazar.
Thanks so much for sharing in my excitement :) Hope you enjoyed my cards! Have an amazing weekend!
Be Sweet :)

Just A Note...FTTC174 45

Mona Pendleton | Monday, June 18, 2012 @ 10:00 PM | , , , ,

Hi there! It's time for a new Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge! This week Cindy is our lovely hostess and the challenge theme she chose is "From the Desk"... In other words, make notecards, a monogrammed card... whatever you may find on your desk.
I made a rather clean and simple card. I stamped a beautiful image from Flourishes Summer Blossoms on a piece of Flourishes Ivory card stock, cut using a Spellbinders Oval die then colored with an assortment of Copic markers.
I layered the colored image on a piece of newsprint patterned paper that was cut using a Spellbinders Labels Eleven die then finished it off with a few drops of Perfect Pearls:
I hope you ink up your stamps, especially ones from Flourishes and join in the fun! Please be sure to visit the Flourishes blog for complete details and for some fabulous inspiration visit our June Guest Designer: Alice Wertz and the entire DT: HeatherSilkeMakikoCindyBeateAmanda

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, June 9, 2012 @ 8:55 PM | , ,

Hey there! It's time for an all new CR84FN Color Challenge! Thanks to all who played along with CR84FN55 ~ so many pretty projects! For the next two weeks we will be playing with the pretty color combo shown below:
My dear girlfriend is celebrating her 50th on June 14th so I had to make one more Birthday card! I pulled out a neglected PTI stamp set and a few dies along with pretty patterned paper from My Mind's Eye and this is what I came up with:
I layered a stamped butterfly on top of a butterfly made using a die and pretty patterned paper, then finished it off with a coating of glitter and a rhinestone brad.
For sketch inspiration, I played along with Freshly Made Sketches:

Hi there! Hope you are all having a great week! I mentioned last week that I will be teaching a few card making classes at one of my favorite paper crafting stores ~ Paper Tales which is like a unique boutique paperie sort of store that is located in San Diego, CA. Classes are going to be held Friday, May 25th and Saturday, May 26th. You can find complete information HERE.

Today, I am sharing the set of cards that we will be making on Saturday, May 26th. In this class, we will be playing with pretty patterned paper from My Mind's Eye, die cut elements from Spellbinders, stamps and dies from My Favorite Things. We will be learning how to make rolled paper roses.
Thanks so much for visiting! If you live near Paper Tales and would like to have some fun or just go shopping in an eclectic store, please be sure to stop by! Be Sweet :)
