Dream...A Fond Farewell 28

Mona Pendleton | Wednesday, August 19, 2015 @ 9:30 PM | , , ,

Hi there! Today it's my turn to share my last project as an official DT member along with a step by step tutorial on the ColourArte blog. It's been an amazing 6 months! Before I get to today's projects, I would like to take a moment to thank you all who took the time to visit my blog as well as the ColourArte blog. I really appreciate your kind and supportive comments! I would like to thank Leslie Ohnstad (the Owner) as well as Terri Sproul (the DT Manager) for the wonderful opportunity to represent the awesome line of ColourArte products and for Leslie's endless generosity. It's been an honor to be on a team with an uber talented group of designers. Please be sure to visit the ColourArte blog to see my tutorial along with all the fab inspiration from the DT!
I also have a layout to share featuring one of my favorite ColourArte products: Radiant Rain Sea Foam Shimmering Mists:
I scrapped a photo that Scott snapped when we were visiting Venice several years ago:
I never tire of the Venetian scenery:
I added lots of texture and design using a brick wall stencil along with modeling paste. Once dry, I splashed on Sea Foam Shimmering Mist
I randomly stamped several coffee stain images using Prima Coffee Stains stamps then embellished with a variety of flowers, metal trinkets and die cut foliage:
For sketch inspiration, I joined along with the Sketchabilities sketch challenge:
For color and the travel theme inspiration, I joined along with the August Scrap Around The World challenge:
Thanks so much for visiting! Please be sure to visit the ColourArte blog to see my tutorial along with all the fab inspiration from the DT!

Art 32

Mona Pendleton | Friday, January 30, 2015 @ 1:28 AM | , , , ,

Hi there! Are you ready for the weekend? Since Phoenix is hosting the Super Bowl there are so many festivities going on around town. I don't really have a passion for watching football but I sure enjoy the commercials :) How about you? Are you a football fan?
Today I have a layout to share featuring a photo of my dear daughter Angie that was taken by one of her classmates during her welding class:
Angie is an amazing artist and sells her artwork. The horse head shown below is a piece of art she made in her welding class of reclaimed / recycled metal pieces that she hand picked from a metal scrap yard. She rents space in a local vintage marketplace where she sells her art as well as vintage furniture, treasures and trinkets. This piece sold before she even had a chance to put a price tag on it! I'm so proud of her to say the least :)
To create this layout, I started with fun papers from the 7 Dots Studio Domestic Goddess collection. The edges were distressed, layered then adhered to the main background piece. I added texture using a Prima stencil along with Prima Modeling Paste. Once dry, randomly I applied various color of inks:
I embellished with a couple of Prima metal flowers / trinkets and chipboard gears which I painted to give a rusty appearance:
I added Prima glass beads and Prima glitter for a touch of shimmer and shine:

I joined along with the following challenges:
Finnabair's Sparkle and Shine Blog Hop / Challenge:
For sketch inspiration, I joined along with the current Sketches In Thyme sketch challenge:
and for color inspiration, I joined along with ScrapMagic challenge using blue and dark orange along with glass beads for the Mandatory item:
Many thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you have a great weekend!

live everyday 30

Hi there! It's time for an all new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week's challenge you are encouraged to wander up in the air for your inspiration.
I was inspired to create a cloud like background on my layout:
I scrapped a photo that was taken while hiking the Swiss Alps. For a backdrop, I attempted to create a fluffy cloud like appearance using Texture Paste:
For a splash of color, Stormy Sky and Brushed Pewter Distress Stain Sprays were randomly added:
Chit Chat stickers were used to spell out my journaling:

I embellished with home made flowers including a Tattered Floral along with a Mini Clock:

An Enameled Tag with a Botanical Remnant Rub makes for a great embellishment:
Here's a photo of a few of the products I used:
Thanks so much for visiting! I hope you enjoyed my project and I hope you join along with theSimon Says Stamp Monday Stamp Challenge! Please be sure to visit the Simon Says Stamp Monday Stamp Challenge blog to see all the DT's fabulous inspiration!

Hi there! I hope you are having a great weekend! Scott and I are away on vacation at our home away from home in San Diego, CA. I frantically packed a craft travel bag / suitcase full of supplies to play with during the evenings when we are both too tired to do anything else. I knew I wanted to join along with Prima's May Build-A-Page sketch challenge, so I packed lots of Prima goodies.
I made a layout featuring a couple of photos of Meredith and Connor that were taken more than 10 years ago. They weren't even in school yet and now Connor is graduation from high school in 2 weeks and Meredith will be a Senior next year! YIKES! Time sure flies!
To create the background, I started with a pretty piece of patterned paper from the Prima Princess collection, added lots of texture and paints then embellished with a variety of Prima flowers:
resin embellishments including the butterflies and key:
typo bulbs along with rub-ons from my stash:
For color inspiration I joined along with the current ColourQ challenge:
Thank you for visiting - I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Be Sweet ;)
