Mona Pendleton | Sunday, November 8, 2015 @ 2:29 AM | , , ,

Hi there! I hope you are enjoying the weekend as much as I am! Today I have a collection of rather clean and simple Christmas cards to share:
As you can see, they are all VERY similar (a tag with a Poinsettia, stamped sentiment, a button and twine)

Up close, you can see the detail of the beautiful Mulberry Poinsettia:

Merry Christmas to you...November PTI Blog Hop 47

Mona Pendleton | Tuesday, November 25, 2014 @ 11:39 AM | , , ,

Hi there! It's that time of month again ~ time for the PTI Blog Hop! This month's challenge the theme is snow
I made a trio of three similar Christmas cards featuring a snowflake shaker that I made using one of the beautiful PTI Damask Snowflake dies:
I filled each snowflake with shimmery snow like glitter and sequins:
All three sentiments are from the PTI Vintage Ornaments Stamp Set:
My goal was to keep them rather flat to cut down on postage cost yet keep them pretty:

Thanks so much for stopping by ~ happy hopping!

Welcome...MFT November Creative Challenge 62

Mona Pendleton | Monday, November 26, 2012 @ 10:00 PM | , , , , , , , , , ,

Hi there! Hope you are all off to a great start of the Holiday Season! I'm here to share a project for the MFT Design Team December Creative Challenge.
In case you are not familiar, the MFT Design Team Creative Challenge is a monthly feature, where we are challenged to explore our creative side using a specific theme, product, or technique. This month, we were challenged to create Holiday Home Decor using our MFT Stamps and Die-namics. Be sure to check out the MFT Blog for a list of all participating designers who have a project to share with you today.

I created a mixed media holiday wall hanging using a variety of Die-namics along with several MFT stamp sets. After creating the textured brick wall, I randomly stamped the larger dots from LJD Darling Dots on the wall for a little added texture and depth. I think it also adds character ;) LOL
I added a trio of multi-layered Poinsettias that were made using Die-namics Poinsettia  which I sprayed using heidi swapp Sweet Cherry Color shine. I finished them off with a dusting of glitter and a rhinestone brad.
Tucked behind the Poinsettias are beautiful die cut flourishes that were made using Die-namics Medium Fancy Flourish and Die-namics Large Leafy Flourish.
I made a couple of Christmas tree topiaries using Die-namics Jumbo Banner Day STAX. Once the trees were die cut, spritzed and assembled, I randomly stamped using LJD Darling Dots. The pots were made using Die-namics Mini Tabs Foursome and each topped off with a star made using Die-namics Star STAX.
Once the wooden door was completed with all the texture and color, I adhered a die cut wreath that was made using Die-namics Winter Wreath and fashioned a stamped sentiment on it. The 'Tis the Season sentiment is from Inspired by Christmas and was stamped on a die cut strip that was made using Die-namics Sentiment Strips
In case you are interested in a nearly step by step more detailed tutorial, please take a peek at the tutorial I put together shown below:

Thanks so much for visiting! I hope you enjoyed my mixed media holiday wall hanging as much as I enjoyed creating it! Remember to check out the MFT Blog for a list of all participating designers who have put their MFT stamps and/or Die-namics dies to work to create a Holiday Home Decor project for you today!
Be Sweet :)

Flurries! 2

Mona Pendleton | Monday, December 15, 2008 @ 10:34 PM | , , , ,

Baby it's cold outside!

Still stampin away! I love this snowflake patterned paper from Die Cuts With A View that I used as my background. This card is made from SU Pixie Pink CS. I used Bazzill Red Robin CS and a white piece of Bazzill CS for the borders. I cut the white borders using Spellbinders Nestabilities scalloped rectangle die. (one of my favorites!) I really have been into embossing lately, so you will probably get tired of it! I just love the way it looks! All images are stamped with SU stamps including the Perfect Presentation set, inked with VersaMark chalk ink, then embossed with Jo-Ann Craft Essentials clear powder. I then cut the scalloped circles using Cuttlebug Flower dies out of SU Certainly Celery, Garden Green, Pixie Pink and Bazzill Red Robin CS. Paper piercing the scalloped flower edges just gives a bit more detail. I applied the final embellishments: Making Memories crystal brads and SU silver cord to finish off the card.
Stay Warm!

Glittering Christmas Tree Card 0

Mona Pendleton | Tuesday, December 2, 2008 @ 4:20 PM | , , ,

Glitter Galore!
Christmas is right around the corner! I have been gathering all my Christmas stamps to begin the holiday stamping frenzy. This card appears to be simple, yet I think it is very elegant. This card is stamped on SU Tempting Turquoise CS, layered with White Die Cuts With A View CS that is embossed with Cuttlebug a2 snowflakes embossing folder. The blue glittery CS came from a Die Cuts With A View Christmas stack. I stamped the tree image with VersaMark ink, then applied SU Heat and Stick powder, then sprinkled with Martha Stewart silver glitter. I used the SU Cute and Curly stamp set and punch to make the Merry Christmas tag. The image was stamped using VersaMark, then embossed with Martha Stewart silver powder. I finished off the card with a couple Making Memories brads and SU silver cord. I think this card is very shimmery and glittery!
Merry Stampin!

Happy Thanksgiving!
Wow, I can not believe it is turkey time already! I made this card to wish my family and friends a happy thanksgiving holiday. This card is made from SU Mellow Moss CS with another beautiful paper layered on top from Heidi Grace. I really love the variety of colors in this patterned paper that match so well with SU colors! It screams East Coast fall foliage! The SU More Mustard was embossed using Cuttlebug emboss a2 pumpkin harvest embossing plate. I cut the biggest scalloped circle out of SU Bravo Burgandy CS, the next layer was punched with EK Success 2" scalloped circle punch, and the innermost circle was punched with EK Success 1 3/4" punch. The stamped "Happy Thanksgiving"image was made with a Studio G $1 stamp that I purchased at Michael's (I love those $1 bins)! I then cut the smaller scalloped circles with the Cuttlebug Flower die set using the following SU CS colors: Mellow Moss, Always Artichoke, Chocolate Chip, and Close to Cocoa. For the final touch, I stamped the leaf images from the Autumn Stamp Kit by The Paper Company Studio with The Essential Glue Pad, sprinkled on Martha Stewart glitter, punched the images out using EK Success 3/4" circle punch, assembled the pieces with 3M double sided tape, and attached the JoAnn Scrap Essentials antique brads. I hope my friends are happy to receive this one!
Gobble, Gobble!
