Just A Note 58

Mona Pendleton | Tuesday, March 22, 2011 @ 12:48 PM | , , , , ,

Hi there! Hope you are all having a terrific Tuesday and enjoying Spring! Maybe you are on Spring break enjoying the beach on some exotic island or perhaps, doing some Spring cleaning or maybe even planting some flowers? Whatever you may be doing, hope you are enjoying life :)
I stamped a label image designed by Nina Bracket from gina K. Lovely Labels Two using a combination of S4-301 Labels Sixteen and S4-116 Standard Circles SM die templates to cut/emboss a frame. For sketch inspiration, I played along with this week's Card Patterns Sketch 107. If you are looking for some fab inspiration, check out the site!
Once I had the frame all inked up, I adhered it to a gorgeous Crafty Secrets Vintage Image and stamped various postage images from Tattered Angels all over the pretty Prima polka dot patterned paper.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Be Sweet :)

Just for you... 49

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, March 5, 2011 @ 9:00 AM | , ,

Hi there! Hope you are all having a super Saturday! Any BIG plans?  I will be off riding my bicycle with my sweet sister Tina enjoying the warm weather :)

I am super excited to be the Guest Designer this week at Card Patterns where you will find some amazing weekly inspiration from the entire DT and awesome sketches to play with! Thank you ladies for this great opportunity :)
I pulled out some pretty Melissa Frances DP and paired it with a few images from gina k Designs Lovely Labels 1 designed by Card Patterns very own designer: Nina Brackett.
I stamped the polkadot label then using a S4-233 Labels Nine die template to cut/emboss the image. It is layered on a label made from Melissa Frances DP that was cut using a S4-161 Labels One die template.
I made a shimmery glittered heart and popped it up using a 3D foam square:
That's all I have for today~thank you for visiting :)  Please be sure to hop on over to the Card Patterns site to see what the design team has to share! Hope you have a great weekend! I will be back tomorrow with an all new CR84FN Color Challenge.

Love... 31

Mona Pendleton | Wednesday, April 21, 2010 @ 6:45 AM | , ,

Hi Everyone! Last week, I was away at the Spellbinders Retreat - Oh my gosh! It was an amazing experience! I met the entire Spellbinders crew & DT. Everyone was so friendly & kind. We learned so many new techniques & brushed up on some familiar ones. I am looking forward to sharing my Spellbinders journey with all of you :)

Awhile back in January, Beate at SCS asked me to write a tutorial on how to make a tissue paper flower for SCS!!! Oh my gosh - Of course - I was more than honored & happy to! Please visit SCS HERE to view the tutorial & feel free to let me know what you think :)

I made this Love card showcasing the tissue paper flower featured in the tutorial.

The fun polka dotted ornate frame image that you see here behind the tissue paper flower is one of many amazing stamps from the Gina K. Designs Lovely Labels set.

The set is full of several different images that fit perfectly with various Spellbinders dies! A match made in my stamping Heaven :)

I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder to create the uppermost layer, a scrap of DP from K&Company for the middle layer & a snippit from the Vintage Valentine DP for the bottom layer. To give the tissue paper flower an aged/distressed look, I used a sponge dauber to apply Ranger Vintage Photo ink.

That is all I have for today - Thanks for looking! Be Sweet!

Stamps: Gina K. Designs Lovely Labels

Paper: tissue paper, K&Company DP, white & aqua cs,

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Ranger Vintage Photo

Other: Spellbinders# S4-233 Labels Nine, # S4-190 Labels Four, # S4-136 Classic Heart, # S4-137 Classic Scalloped Heart, # S4-109 Flower Creations Three, Offray ribbon, Making Memories hardware, EK Success border punch

Blessings...Just Us Girls Sketch Challenge 34

Mona Pendleton | Friday, April 2, 2010 @ 8:57 PM | , , ,

***I have 2 posts today - if you are looking for my My Time Made Easy post - please continue to scroll up - Thanks :)***

Hi Everyone! Time for a Sketch challenge with Just Us Girls, JUGS27! Kristin created this fun sketch for all to play with this week. I would like to welcome Sue Lelli as our April Featured Designer :) This will be Tracey's last challenge as a JUGS DT member, as she will be stepping down. Please take a second & head on over to Tracey's site for further details & leave her some love! :) Thanks so much Tracey for all the weekly inspiration! :)I wanted to share not only my card but this beautiful Cherub statue in her entirety with you :)Here is a closer view of my Blessings card:The elegant Gina K Designs Blessing sentiment says it all! You may know that I work as a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room. All I am going to share is that after seeing what I have seen for the past 11 years in the OR, I feel so Blessed in so many ways!!! When my co-workers gripe or as I am making that drive to work at 3 a.m. in the morning for an Emergency case, I count my Blessings for my health, family & friends (& papercrafting supplies)!

When I saw this fabulous sketch that Kristin created for this week's JUGS27 challenge, showcasing a beautiful flower sprouted in my thoughts :) It's not always easy to catch the shimmer of the Glimmer Mist when photographing but if you look closely or click the photo to enlarge, you can see the shimmer :)

Here is a quick tutorial on how I altered this beautiful flower:

Supplies Used:

1 paper flower (purchased at local craft store), heat gun, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, Ranger Tim Holtz Antique Tea ink, sponge dauber

This photo shows what the flower looked like before I glammed it up!

This is super easy! Hold paper flower, spray Glimmer Mist, Heat with heat gun. Repeating the spraying step as many times as you like until you get the desired color! Using sponge dauber, apply distressing ink.

Before & After Photo:

What do you think? What I love about it is you can spray a plain white flower with any color of Glimmer Mist!

That's all for today! I hope you join along in the fun with Just Us Girls & give this tutorial a try! If you make a flower like this, please feel free to email me a link to your creation OR simply email a photo to me!! Would love to see what you do! Have a very Happy Easter Sunday if you celebrate & if you don't celebrate, hope you enjoy your weekend! Be Sweet!

For complete details, please visit the Just Us Girls challenge site & be sure to visit ALL the DT girls (found on my side bar) as well as Sue! Once you have your creation photographed, be sure to go to Just Us Girls and post a direct link to your project on our site. Mona Pendleton | Thursday, April 1, 2010 @ 7:05 AM | , ,

***I have 3 posts today - if you are looking for my My Time Made Easy or my Play Date Cafe posts, please continue to scroll down - Thanks! :)***

Hi there! I am super excited to share that today, April 1st is the official start date of my journey with ALL the wonderful people at Spellbinders & the uber talented 2010-2011 Design Team! We will be spending several days together in Phoenix starting Wednesday, April 18th! I am so thrilled to begin this adventure with Spellbinders, such an incredible company & to create along side with all these amazing papercrafters! Please head on over to the Spellbinders site for COMPLETE details & be sure to visit the entire Design Team's blogs!

I also have a card to share today :)
I hopped along with the JustRite Mega Blog Hop last week & gained so much inspiration! So much eye candy to admire :) I paired this pretty JustRite image from the Breath of Spring set with this soft, subtle DCWV DP. I used the Spellbinders Long Classic Rectangles Large to cut out the floral image, then layered it on top of a scalloped frame cut using the Long Classic Scalloped Rectangles Large.

I don't have any JustRite sentiment stamps in my collection so I inked up the "Hope" image from the Gina K Lovely Labels set. Stitched on a strip of lace, tied a bow & attached the lil' tag!

Thanks so much for sharing these exciting times with me! I appreciate you stopping by & sharing my papercrafting journey with me :) Thanks for looking! Be Sweet!

Ingredients Used:

Stamps: JustRite Breath of Spring Borders & Centers, Gina K. Designs Lovely Labels

Paper: DCWV, Stampin' Up, Papertrey Ink

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Ranger Tim Holtz Vintage Photo, Copic Markers

Other: Spellbinders: # S4-190 Labels Four, # S4-142 Long Classic Rectangles Large, S4-143 Long Classic Scalloped Rectangles Large, Papertrey Ink ribbon, buttons from stash
