Thinking of You 31

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, June 18, 2016 @ 5:29 AM | , , ,

Hi! I hope you are having a great Saturday! Today I have a trio of quite similar cards to share featuring pretty flowers from the PTI Vintage Linens stamp set which I bought months ago and never used until today. I was in need of a Thinking of You card for my dear sister who has endured 12 weeks of chemotherapy, a bilateral mastectomy and 2nd stage reconstruction surgery for stage 3 breast cancer. She has opted out of radiation but will continue with 7 months of chemotherapy.
The next two are sympathy cards for Scott's family members who are in my thoughts and prayers. Scott's 53 year young cousin passed away last week.

For sketch inspiration, I joined along with the current Freshly Made Sketches sketch challenge:

Thanks so much for visiting ~ I hope you have a great weekend!

BEST wishes 39

Mona Pendleton | Friday, August 28, 2015 @ 11:45 PM | , ,

Hi there! I hope you are having a great weekend! Today I have a rather clean and simple card to share featuring a beautiful dream catcher. My sweet daughter Angie loves dream catchers so I surprised her with this card :)
To create this card, I embossed a piece of water color paper then added pink and blue inks from my stash then embellished with the Spellbinders die cut dream catcher. The sentiment is from PTI.
For sketch inspiration, I joined along with the Pals Paper Arts challenge:

Guest Designing for Pink Paislee 53

Mona Pendleton | Monday, November 21, 2011 @ 9:07 AM | , , , ,

Hi there! I'm very excited and honored to be officially Guest Designing for Pink Paislee today! I would be tickled pink if you would visit the Pink Paislee blog (click HERE) as well :) I created three various projects featuring awesome products primarily from the fun Snow Day collection. First up is a layout of my sweet daughter, Angie and I taken while on a ski trip to Vail, Colorado.
I layered a few labels from the pack of Ephemera which by the way is loaded with lots of goodness! For a little extra shimmer, I added a layer of glitter to the snow angels label:
After die cutting and layering a piece of Cozy Sweater and Snowball Fight  patterned papers, I adorned the piece with lots of fun Dimensional Stickers and Ephemera:
I made a fan fold embellishment using a piece of Hot Cocoa, adhered a glittery piece of Ephemera on top then fastened a pearl brad right in the center:
Next up is a plastic bucket that I decorated and filled with some yummy chocolate covered snowflake shaped pretzels. Makes for a perfect sized gift to give to a loved one!
Using fun little alphabet stickers from Bitty Blocks, I spelled out Sweet Christmas wishes on a label from the pack of Ephemera, added a darling snowflake sticker from
The packs of Bitty Blocks are full of letters making it so easy to create labels and tags like I have done so on my projects.

I topped off the tin, with a paper bow that was made using pretty double sided Hot Cocoa patterned paper following this tutorial from SCS (click HERE). I applied brushable adhesive to the bow then sprinkled on a touch Martha Stewart glitter:

Last but not least, is a painters tray full of Snow Day sweetness and a few pics of Connor and Meredith taken while on a ski trip years ago.
Couldn't resist adding a touch of glitter to the heart shaped piece:
and to the cozy hat. Sort of reminds me ice on a cold Snow Day :)
Can't go wrong with some shimmery snowflakes:
and a frosty night to follow:
Love the pretty pink shield shaped piece and another shimmery label on top:
I painted the naked wooden snow man from Wood Shapes with white paint and his hat with black then brought him to life with shimmy glitter :)
Here is a fun little label from the pack of Ephemera and a shimmery snowflake:
This last window features a sweet Snowball couple that were included in the pack of Ephemera.
Thanks so much for visiting! I hope you have enjoyed my projects ~ please be sure to visit the Pink Paislee blog for more information! Thank you so much Pink Paislee for this wonderful opportunity :) I had a great time creating with such awesome products!

August WMS S.O.A.P. Day 1 54

Mona Pendleton | Monday, August 1, 2011 @ 12:00 AM | ,

***I have two posts today ~ if you are looking for my Flourishes Bring Back Beautiful post, either click HERE or continue to scroll down. Thank You :)***
Happy August 1st! Here today with the August Waltzingmouse Stamps S.O.A.P. Day #1 share! To freshen your memory ClaireOwner/Designer of Waltzingmouse Stamps will be releasing new stamp sets every other month with the exception to this month! Claire will be releasing TWO fun Halloween stamp sets: Gracie at Halloween & Cicely at Halloween. Since August is an “off” month Claire and many of the DT members will be sharing projects for the next four days, including today, reviewing last month’s release sets: Flourishes - Stamps and Dots, You're Lovely, Cameo Creations, Cameo To Go, Eat Cake, Big Day - Additions, Big Day - Essentials and an "oldie but goldie" set on the 4th day :)  The "off" months are referred to as S.O.A.P. ~ Stamps Of Approval Parade.

Today, I am sharing two similar cards and a mini tutorial using a combination of images from Cameo CreationsFaux Fun CirclesTeeny Trees and Rescue Remedies:
Postage stamps are such a timeless treasure and ANY and EVERY thing related to postage is in high demand these days! Who hasn't torn off a pretty postage stamp from an envelope at some point in their life and said "oooo this is a keeper?" :) LOL

I created a few VERY CAS cards. One "girly":
the other a little more "masculine":
The postage stamps themselves were made by combining images from Cameo CreationsFaux Fun Circles and Rescue Remedies along with various colored inks. The background was embossed using a Sizzix Tim Holtz embossing folder. A perfect backdrop for my WM Cameo Postage stamps don't you think?
In case you would like a bit more detailed tutorial, here you go:
You need the Cuttlebug die shown below unless you have a Spellbinders one already, inks of your choice (I used SU Blush Blossom and Cameo Coral), solid circle image from Faux Fun Circles, $1 image from  Rescue Remedies and the cameo image from Cameo Creations:
I die cut the postage stamp shape, stamped the circle image from Faux Fun Circles using SU Blush Blossom ink followed with the cameo image from Cameo Creations using SU Cameo Coral ink then, distressed the edges using Ranger Vintage Photo ink:
I finished it off by stamping the $1 image from Rescue Remedies:
That's all for today ~ thanks so much for looking! I hope to see you tomorrow for day 2 :) For some awesome  inspiration, please be sure to visit Claire and the rest of the Waltzingmouse DT members listed below:

The Play Date Cafe Challenge #18...PDCC18 36

Mona Pendleton | Wednesday, February 24, 2010 @ 10:00 PM | , , , , ,

Hi there! Thanks to all of you who played along in last week's Play Date Cafe creativity challenge! For this week's challenge at the Play Date Cafe, PDCC18, Julie Ranae chose a beautiful inspirational photo that contain my favorite colors :) These colors are such a breath of fresh spring air!

Here is my card:

Any shade of Aqua is my favorite!

Here are a few details on how I made this card: The Tea label image on top is a stamp that I spotted at my local stamping store several months ago & finally inked it up! LOL The music note piece is a piece of metal from Ten Seconds Studio that I embossed, then sanded to reveal the silver - this stuff is gorgeous & super easy to work with! I inked up one of the Waltzing Mouse Faux Fun lacey looking borders with SU Cool Caribbean then cut it out by hand - Nothing fancy, just a super sharp scissors & steady hand :) I highly recommend not drinking caffeinated tea or coffee prior to cutting!

The whimsical scripty oval comes from the MTME © Flutters & Flowers digi collection. One thing I truly appreciate about the MTME © digi paper - is the ease of printing anytime of the day or night! I added a few punched, embossed, multi-layered posies to finish off my card :)
I hope you can join along with this week's creativity challenge. After you have made your project, please head on over to The Play Date Cafe & link your post to Mr. Linky. Be sure to see what all The Play Date Cafe DT girls have created to share with you for inspiration! Are you drawn in by the color Aqua? Be Sweet!

Sarah Anderson,
Julie Campbell
