Mona Pendleton | Tuesday, May 31, 2011 @ 1:00 AM | , ,

Happy Tuesday! Hope you all had a fun weekend and maybe had a chance to enjoy an extra day off from work?! :) I spent a lot of time on some fun and exciting DT projects coming up over the next TWO weeks starting tomorrow, June 1st with the June Waltzingmouse Stamps S.O.A.P. projects. Back to work for me today but I do have a card to share.

If you have visited me before, you know how much I LOVE all those gorgeous Melissa Frances products. Well TODAY, one of my projects is being featured on THE Melissa Frances Blog!!! Pinch me PLEASE!!! I would be tickled pink if you would be so kind to pop on over there (click HERE) and see it for yourself :)

I made this card for my sweet niece, JennyLee, who is currently going through some tough times.
I combined various gorgeous Melissa Frances patterned paper from both the Attic Treasures and 5th Avenue Collections. I broke out a darling Crafty Secrets Heartwarming Vintage image and stamped a pre-made tag with a beautiful sentiment from JustRite Stampers Faith Set.
Thanks so much for visiting ~ hope you have a great day! I'll be back tomorrow with some Waltzingmouse goodness to share :) Be Sweet!

Mona Pendleton | Wednesday, March 23, 2011 @ 11:00 PM | , , ,

Hi there! Hope you are all having a great week~more than half way there :) I had some "me" time so I pulled out a few of my favorite papercrafting products and got a little creative:

February Friends of WMS Blog Waltz 71

Mona Pendleton | Thursday, February 17, 2011 @ 1:00 AM | , , ,

Hi There! Here today for the Friends of Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Waltz. This month, Claire is challenging us all to Design with Buttons.

Once the Waltz begins, you have plenty of time to visit all the participating blogs/galleries at your leisure. A separate thread will be set up for chat and a special game for a chance to win a stamp set of choice. And, of course, we will draw a name from all those who participate in the waltz to win a stamp set of choice! The competition doesn't end until 11:59 pm Eastern on February 19th, so you have plenty of time! We are playing the "Guess the theme of TWO of the new stamp sets being released March 1st game". All the details are in the Waltzingmouse Forum (Playroom:Blog Waltzes), where you'll also find all the links for the waltz.

With Spring right around the corner, I thought I would create a few cards featuring Waltzingmouse Easter Eggs. Here in Phoenix, a sure sign of Spring are the beautiful blooms on the cacti especially the SAGUARO ;)
For sketch inspiration, I played along with the Get Sketchy Card Challenge #74:
I inked up several different Easter egg images from Nestie Eggs, layered with chipboard and glammed them up with some yummy glitter and buttons.
Next up, is a card featuring a speckled egg image from Nestie Eggs. This stamp set is jam packed with so many Easter eggs in a variety of sizes and designs and sentiments.
One can't go wrong with Easter eggs and buttons can they?
Thanks so much for looking! I'm off to Waltz along taking in all the button inspiration along the way! Be Sweet :)

Thanks Sew Much 58

Mona Pendleton | Friday, February 11, 2011 @ 10:46 AM | , , ,

Hi there! T.G.I.F. :) Are you ready for the weekend? I am! Temps are supposed to be back up into the 70's so I am looking forward to riding my bike and not being all bundled up. I hate when my toes get cold in the clip shoes and it seems no matter what gear I wear, the cold air seems to find it's way in :(

Today, I am Guest Designing at My Craft Spot where Kimberly sells Vintage hand dyed ribbon and baker's twine. If you are in need of either of these, I highly recommend visiting her site! I made this card using some stamps that I have had for probably at least 8 months or so and embarrassingly enough, have only kissed the ink pad once! YIKES
ALL of the images seen here are from the Crafty Secrets Sew Special stamp set and paired with Melissa Frances DP that is oh sew pretty :) I love that Vintage elegant dress form image. What inspired me to create this card was the graphic for this week's color challenge over at The Play Date Cafe.
I used a variety of inspired images from Sew Special to create the black and cream patterned paper that is directly below the dress form. The little tag was made using a S4-246 Labels Eleven die template and the pretty seam binding bow was made using Vanilla Bean Vintage crinkly ribbon Courtesy of Kimberly @ My Craft Spot.
Thanks sew much for looking~hope you have a great day! Be Sweet :)

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Crafty Secrets Sew Special
Die Templates & Machine: Spellbinders™ Nestabilities® S5-022 Labels Ten, S5-023 Mega Ovals Large, S5-024 Mega Classic Scalloped Ovals LG, GC-001 Grand Calibur

Good Luck to 2S4Y Founders 41

Mona Pendleton | Monday, January 17, 2011 @ 8:00 AM | , , , ,

***I have two posts today - so if you are looking for my Friends of Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Waltz post please click HERE*** I apologize for the inconvenience.

I am SURE many of you have either played along, guest designed or have seen the awesome sketches brought to us from Kazan and Laura, Founders/Owners of the 2Sketches4You Sketch Challenge blog. Well their creative journey has taken them in a new direction and this week's sketches will be the final sketches brought to us by the two of them. Along with the sketches, there is a theme being observed that being: "farewell", "good luck" or "miss you". Please visit the 2S4Y site for COMPLETE details and a WHOLE lot of inspiration!
Although I am very sad that Kazan and Laura are "shutting down" 2S4Y but I am VERY happy for both of them and can't wait to see where their papercrafting journey will take them next! I made this Good Luck card referring to Kazan's sketch for inspiration. The sweet little rose is a gift I received from my sweet friend Suzanne and the pretty Buttercup seam binding is courtesy of Kimberly at My Craft Spot where you will find MANY beautiful colors for sale.
I inked up the GOOD Luck sentiment from Waltzingmouse Fancy Phrases and used a  to cut/emboss the image which is all showcased on gorgeous DP from the Pink Paislee Sweetness Collection.

A Shimmery Snowflake 44

Mona Pendleton | Friday, November 12, 2010 @ 11:27 AM | , ,

Hi There! T.G.I.F. :) Are you ready for the weekend? I'm looking forward to a Sunday full of football :) How about you - any big weekend plans? I recovered my car yesterday from the dealership but I'm paying for it today. I used to run daily until I developed a stress fracture in my left foot. Against doctor's orders, I continued to run which led to a non-union fracture with a shattered bone. Needless to say, I had surgery to have that bone removed and no longer run. I enjoy bike riding more than ever and have become great friends with an elliptical machine :) Note to self: Listen to your M.D. - as the saying goes, "nurses make the worse patients"! I know this holds true for me and my co-workers.
As I sat around last night feeling sorry for my throbbing feet and achy hips, I made this card. I love Crafty Secrets Vintage Images & Journal Notes and I tend to save them so I put one to good use and made this card. For sketch inspiration, I played along with this week's Our Creative Corner Sketch Challenge and with this week's Splitcoaststampers Crafty Secrets Challenge which is to incorporate lace when creating your project.
While I was shopping at Michael's Arts and Crafts, I spotted some gorgeous pre-glittered paper! SWOON!!! Have you seen it? It comes in so many yummy colors, it's heavy weight and does not shed all over the place! PERFECT! The shimmery snowflake embellishment was made using a S4-286 2010 Snowflake Pendant die template and the raspberry colored glittered paper.
That's all I have to share today. Thanks so much for looking :) Have a great day! I'll be back tomorrow with another Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge. Be Sweet!

Friends Of WMS Blog Waltz - Halloween 91

Mona Pendleton | Friday, September 17, 2010 @ 12:00 AM | , , ,

Hi Friends! Here today for the Friends of Waltzingmouse Stamps September Blog Waltz. This month Claire is challenging us all to create a project based on a Halloween theme. For complete Waltz details please visit the The Play Room!

Since I have this healthy addiction to tags, I created SIX GRANDE sized tags combining so many of my favorite papercrafting supplies to make this SPOOKY swag that hangs in front of my fireplace. Using the Spellbinders™ Nestabilities® LF-190 Grand Labels Four die templates to cut each label made for 6 great canvases to showcase so much Halloween fun all in one project!
With such a variety of Halloween images that Halloween Party, Midnight Feast, & Wanda's Pantry sets have to offer, it made it quite easy to mix things up a bit. Here you see the lil' witch image from Midnight Feast & several images from Halloween Party stamped on the ticket in the lower right corner.Next up, is a spooky spider from Halloween Party. After stamping the spider, I used a S4-189 Labels Three die template to cut/emboss him then applied some Ranger Rock Candy giving it an aged appearance.
Next up, features the Vampire BLOOD image from Wanda's Pantry. This too has the Rock Candy applied to it.Next up, is the Witch & her cauldron of magic brew from Halloween Party. So fun - don't you think?
Next up, is one of the Wanda's Witch's Brew label that fits perfectly with a S4-190 Labels Four die template! A match made in my stamping Heaven :) I spitzed a lil' glimmer mist to add some color & fun!
I found some Tim Holtz journaling tags at my LSS & stamped away with a variety of images from Midnight Feast.

Here is the pic of where the SPOOKY swag really hangs when not being photographed :) PINK is typically my color of choice but it just didn't seem to "fit" amongst all these shades of purple, green, orange & black ;)

Thanks for looking! Can't wait to see what everyone has created along the waltz! I'll be back tomorrow with the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge. Be Sweet!

Supplies Used: Stamps: Waltzingmouse Halloween Party, Midnight Feast, Wanda's Pantry, Die Templates & Machine: Spellbinders™ Nestabilities® LF-190 Grand Labels Four, S4-191 Dahlia, S4-192 Blossom, S4-193 Peony, S4-232 Blossom Two, S4-189 Labels Three, S4-186 Large Labels. Happy Halloween 42

Mona Pendleton | Thursday, August 26, 2010 @ 1:12 PM | , , , ,

Hi There Blogging Friends! Here today to share a few projects I made featuring a few darling Vintage images from Crafty Secrets. Over at Splitcoaststampers, there is a weekly Crafty Secrets challenge of sorts, that challenges us stampers to use our Crafty Secrets products. I made this card for this week's challenge - "Stuck on Crafty Secrets" which is to use a sticker or create your own. I don't own any Crafty Secrets stickers so I trimmed an image, then adhered it using double sided tape. For sketch inspiration, I played along with this week's Card Patterns Sketch 78. To make the tag, I used the Spellbinders™ S4-081 Tags Five die template to cut/emboss the tag then inked up a Happy Halloween sentiment from the Waltzingmouse Midnight Feast set.

Next up, is this lil' treat bag that I made using the FREE Waltzingmouse Tea Bag Baggie template. I made this for last week's Crafty Secrets challenge was "Brown Bagging It" which is to incorporate a brown bag with your Crafty Secrets goodies. To give the bag a faux leather look, I followed the tutorial on Splitcoaststampers. Super easy & such a neat result! Speaking of faux, this month's Dirty Dozen challenge theme is "Fabulous in Faux"- maybe you would like to create using any fake technique! :)

To make the little tag I, inked up an images from the Waltzingmouse Halloween Party & Very Vintage Labels No. 4 sets then cut/embossed using the Spellbinders™ S4-190 Labels Four die template that fits perfectly!

That's all for today. Thanks so much for looking! Be Sweet :)

Supplies Used:

Stamps: Waltzingmouse Midnight Feast, Halloween Party, Very Vintage Labels No. 4

Die Templates & Machine: Spellbinders™ Nestabilities® S4-190 Labels Four, S5-025 Labels Seventeen, S4-112 Classic Ovals Small, S4-113 Classic Scalloped Ovals SM, S4-081 Tags Five, GC-001 Grand Calibur

Paper: Crafty Secrets Images, Pink Paislee DP, PTI, generic brown bag, K&Company DP, SU
