The owner of Flourishes - Jan Marie Caruso - is celebrating a birthday and we're helping her by getting the party started with just about the ENTIRE Flourishes Crew! Why not leave some love on her blog HERE and while you are hopping around, be sure to visit the Flourishes team members who are honoring her special day! (list below)
Thanks so much Jan Marie for being such a kind, sweet and very generous person! I hope you have an AMAZING birthday celebration and MANY more to come! To make Jan Marie's Birthday card, I inked up a pretty image from Zinnias then used a variety of Copic Markers to color the image. I stamped the CELEBRATE sentiment from Birthday Pennants which coordinates perfectly with both Spellbinders Nested Lacey Pennants and Nested Pennants.
In honor of Jan's special day, the worker bees behind the scenes decided to have a COLORFUL sale to help celebrate! TODAY and TOMORROW only ~ ALL Copic Markers will be on sale 15% off! Just use the code COPIC15 in the coupon code box at the time of check out to get this fun discount! So, join us in singing her a special little birthday song! Be sure to check out all the fun and festive wishes and grab some great ideas for birthday cards along the way!

Happy Birthday Jan! We hope your day is the absolute BEST and cheers to an even better year ahead!

Thanks for looking! Be Sweet :)

Beautiful Roses...FTTC157 42

Mona Pendleton | Monday, February 20, 2012 @ 11:00 PM | , , , , ,

Hi there! It's Mona and it's my turn to hostess this week's Timeless Tuesday Challenge.
My challenge is to create a Corner Bookmark showcasing a beautiful Flourishes image. If you need a tutorial, Beate shared a wonderful one HERE on Splitcoaststampers.
To create my project, I first made the corner bookmark referring to the Corner Bookmark tutorial on SCS using pretty patterned paper from the Pink Paislee London Market Collection then set aside.
I stamped the beautiful cluster of Roses image from A Year in Flowers 2 using Memento Tuxedo Black ink then colored using a variety of Copic markers shown below. I cut the image out, adhered it to a Spellbinders Labels One die template that was sponged with SU Tempting Turquoise ink, layered on top of another Labels One mat then adhered it to the bookmark.
Thanks so much for visiting!  Please be sure to visit the Flourishes blog for COMPLETE challenge details and for some wonderful inspiration visit the entire DT: TammyHeatherSilkeMakikoCindyBeateMona (that's me), Tera Fujan (Guest Designer)

I was a stamping machine prior to leaving meeting a few DT commitments & deadlines. Today, I am just creating for fun taking on a few challenges.

I've been itching to scrapbook, so I went to my printed stash of photos and dug out an "older" darling photo of Meredith playing with one of her baby dolls ~ She has always been a girly girl at heart :)
Using various patterned papers all from the Pink Paislee Hometown Summer 6"x6" pack ~ (Yep, a 12"x12" LO made using paper from a 6"x6" pack!) ~ I pieced strips and made a bunch of embellishments. Shown below is a close up of one of the butterflies made using PTI butterfly dies:
and here are several flowers and a doily made using various PTI flower dies and a doily die:
For color inspiration, I joined along with the Pink Paislee May Hot Hues

I stamped the sweet little house from Waltzingmouse Sewing Box - Hugs, colored using various Copic markers then using a Spellbinders Standard Circles LG die template to cut/emboss the image. Up close, you can see how I paper pieced and popped the roof and chimney up with a few foam adhesive dots for a little added dimension:
For sketch inspiration, I joined along with this week's Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Again, if you are looking for some awesome inspiration be sure to visit this site!

Welcome to Day #4 of the April Waltzingmouse Stamp Of Approval Parade! Sure hope you have enjoyed what you have been seeing over the past three days and no doubt, today's samples should make your creative inspiration cup overfloweth ;) First, I would like to welcome three new awesome and talented designers to the Waltzingmouse DT: Kate Whelan, Niki Estes  and Tosha Leyendekker. No doubt they will all provide you with tons of inspiration!

There is a lot of festivities going on at Waltzingmouse Stamps that you won't want to miss, so please be sure to visit Claire's blog (click HERE) for COMPLETE details!!!

Today, we are all sharing projects made using Spring Baskets.
Spring Baskets is a set jam packed with so many interchangeable images and sentiments. The creative possibilities are endless! I am willing to bet, not one sample made by the entire DT will be the same!

First up, is a sweet basket that I stamped, colored using a combination of Copics listed below, then paperpieced the basket. The flower trio image was stamped, colored and 3 buttons sewn in place.
Close up, you are able to see these darling little flowers were popped up so the leaves would fall over the edge of the basket:
Using the same layout, just changing up the patterned paper, flowers and sentiment:
This card features a basket full of Daffodils. I popped the basket up using 3D foam squares and attached a little bow and button. The basket full of Daffodils is layered on top of a pretty doily made using a Heart Circles die template which was then layered on top of a label made using a Labels One die template and a piece of PTI Fine Linen cs that was ever so graciously given to me by my sweet friend Stephanie :)
Below, are the Copic markers I used to color the various flowers and baskets:
That's all I have to share today ~ I'll be back tomorrow to share some exciting news :) Thanks so much for looking and to see more amazing inspiration, please be sure to visit Claire and the rest of the Waltzingmouse DT members listed below:

Happy Valentine's Day 67

Mona Pendleton | Monday, February 7, 2011 @ 10:58 PM | , , ,

Hi there! So did you have fun watching the new commercials introduced during the Super Bowl? My fave was the one with the mini Darth Vader!!! So stinkin' cute! The marketing team that created that one must be so incredibly proud of themselves for producing such a hit that entertained millions and continues to do so, thanks to the www! Anyways, here to share a Valentine's Day card:
I pulled out some patterned paper from the My Mind's Eye Be Loved Collection that I have been hoarding since last year! I stamped an image from Stitched with Love Borders & Centers stamp set, colored with various Copic markers listed below then stitched the card together. I made a few layered heart embellishments using S4-136 Classic Heart and S4-137 Classic Scalloped Heart die templates then stitched together fastening a button to the front. For sketch inspiration, I played along with the JustRite Friday Challenge #048.
Did you know JustRite Stampers now sell their own custom die templates manufactured by Spellbinders® made specifically to coordinate with various JustRite stamp sets? In the photo below,  you can get a good luck at the Happy Valentine's Day sentiment that was cut/embossed using a JustRite die template. Both the stamp and the die are from the JustRite Stampers Happy Everything Mini Tag Kit.
Tonight we will be celebrating my son's birthday with him and his girlfriend April :) Hope you have a great day and thanks for visiting! Be Sweet :)

Supplies Used:

Warm Wishes 45

Mona Pendleton | Thursday, February 3, 2011 @ 9:30 PM | , , , , ,

Hi there! I'm so happy it's almost Friday (2.5hrs)! My weekend starts at the end of my shift ~ 3:00 pm SHARP! I'm lovin' my new job~no call and no weekends! YAHOOO!!! The weather has been crazy all over the United States and Australia! Thankfully we haven't had any snow flurries to report here in my neck of the woods (Ahwatukee, AZ) but many parts of the country have been getting pounded with heavy snow fall and frigid temperatures, including my hometown of Orchard Park, NY where I have a few friends still residing :) I made this card for my sweet friends Sue and John:
I love this little snowman from Waltzingmouse Sewing Box - Christmas - he's one of my faves :) You can see in the photo below that I stamped him x 2 and paperpieced one on to of the other, popping him up with a few foam squares for a bit of dimension.
My sweet friend Lisa recommended this fun sketch challenge site called Sketch Saturday. There was so much great inspiration and I loved the sketch, so I played along with this week's Sketch Saturday #140:
These are the Copic markers used to color the sweet snowman and heart images:
I finally get to share on my blog my warm winter wishes card that was published in CARDS magazine: January issue :) Here's the magazine version:
and here he is in my light tent before sending him off:
I hope you stay safe and keep warm wherever you may be! I will be back Saturday for an all new Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge. Thanks for looking ~ Be Sweet!
